INTRODUCTION To get the best out of your new appliance, please read through these instructions carefully before using it for the rst time. Take particular note of the safety precautions. We also recommend that you keep the instructions for future reference, so that you can remind yourself of the functions of your appliance. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

• Children do not recognise the dangers which might arise from operating electrical appliances. Therefore keep children away from all electrical appliances at all times.30

• To protect against electrical hazards, do not immerse cord, plugs or the appliance in water or any other liquid.

• Warning: This appliance gets very hot during operation! Beware of the danger of burns. Take care not to touch hot parts. Use the handles only.

• It is important to ensure that the appliance is always supervised while switched on.

• Incorrect use of this appliance may cause personal injury and damage.

• Never touch the appliance, cord or plug with wet or damp hands.

• Do not expose to direct sunlight, high temperatures, humidity, dust or corrosive substances.

• Do not attempt to operate if - the appliance or the power cord show any signs of damage - the appliance has been dropped on to any hard surface

• Remove the plug from the wall socket - when the appliance is not in use - in the event of any mailfunction during use - before cleaning31

• Take care that the power cord does not touch the hot parts of the appliance.

• When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull the power cord itself. Do not let the power cord hang free.

• Do not place or operate the appliance and its power cord on or near heat surfaces (eg stove plates) or open ames.

• Always place the appliance on a dry, level, rm and heat- resistant surface well away from any edges.

• Do not position it beneath a curtain or a wallcabinet, and do not use it outdoors.

• This appliance is intended for domestic indoor use only, not for commercial use.

• No responsibility is accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.

• In order to comply with safety regulations and to avoid hazards, repairs of electrical appliances must be carried out by qualied personnel including the replacement of the power cord.

• The cord must not be twisted or32

wound around the appliance.

• Check regularly that neither cord nor plug is damaged and do not use if they are, or if the appliance has been dropped or damaged in any other way. If the appliance, cord or plug has been damaged, have them inspected and if necessary repaired by an authorised repairer. Never try to repair the appliance yourself. Please contact the store where you bought the appliance for repairs under the guarantee. Unauthorised repairs or modications to the appliance will invalidate the guarantee.

• Do not use accessories or spare parts which do not come from the supplier.

• The appliance shall not be operated by means of an external timer, or a separate remote control system.

• Caution! Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present.

• Do not switch the appliance on unless there is water in it.33

• Do not touch the outside of the appliance during or just after use as it will be very hot. Note that hot steam escapes from the hole in the lid. Always hold the lid by the handle. Be careful of hot steam when opening the lid.

• Please note that the appliance will remain hot for a while after you switch it o󰀨. Always allow it to cool completely before you put it away or clean it.

• The egg piercing tool is very sharp. Take care when piercing eggs and when using the tray.

• Connect to 230 V, 50 Hz only. OPERATION

1. Fill the measuring cup

with water, according to the number of eggs and cooking time required. The numbers 1-7 on the measuring cup indicate the number of eggs to be cooked. Use the the Soft scale to make soft-boiled eggs, Medium for medium-boiled eggs and Hard for hard-boiled eggs.

2. Pour the appropriate

amount of water into the hotplate.

3. To avoid the eggs

cracking during cooking, pierce a small hole in the rounded end of each egg, using the egg piercing tool at the bottom of the measuring cup.

4. Place the eggs in the

tray and then place the tray on the hotplate.34

6. Plug in and switch on

the power. The indicator lamp lights up and the appliance begins to cook the eggs.

7. When all the water

has evaporated, the eggs are ready. The thermostat inside the appliance switches o󰀨 the appliance. You will hear a buzz.

8. Remove the plug from

the mains socket. Carefully remove the lid. The appliance is still very hot. Remove the tray from the hotplate and cool the eggs immediately. If not, they will continue to cook. NOTE! Take care when using the egg piercing tool and the tray – the egg piercing tool is very sharp. CLEANING Unless clearly specied in the below cleaning instructions, please note that none of the parts of this appliance are dishwasher safe. When cleaning the appliance, you should pay attention to the following points:

• Remove plug from the mains socket, and allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning it.

• Never submerge the base of the appliance, cord or plug in water. Never allow water to seep into the base.

• To clean the hotplate and base, wipe with a damp cloth. A little detergent can be added if the appliance is heavily soiled.35

• To remove lime deposits from the hotplate, use ordinary household vinegar and water (1 part vinegar to 10 parts water). Pour the solution onto the hotplate and leave to stand for approximately 30 minutes. Then pour away the solution. Then wipe the hotplate with a damp cloth.

• Do not use scouring pads, steel wool or any form of strong solvents or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the appliance, as they may damage the outside surfaces of the appliance.

• Ensure the appliance is clean and dry before storing. IMPORTANT! Allow the appliance to dry fully after cleaning before using again. INFORMATION ON DISPOSAL AND

WARRANTY TERMS The warranty does not apply: - if the above instructions have not been followed - if the appliance has been interfered with - if the appliance has been mishandled, subjected to rough treatment, or has su󰀨ered any other form of damage - if the appliance is faulty due to faults in the electricity supply.
