Clean the container as described in the “Cleaning” chapter. Inserting the Batteries
1. Hold the lower part with one hand and turn the housing cover counter-
clockwise with the other hand to open the bayonet lock. Then pull the cover up and away from the container.
2. Pull the drive unit up and off the lower part.
3. Insert 6 type LR03 (AAA) batteries into the battery compartments on the
drive unit. Pay attention to the correct polarity. For help, you will find the corresponding battery symbols in the battery compartments. Use only alkaline batteries.
4. Fill the container up to approx. 80% with pepper or salt.
5. Place the drive unit back on the container.
Make sure that the arrow on the drive unit aligns with the closed padlock symbol on the container and that the contact pins point to both screws on the container. Press the drive unit firmly onto the container.
6. Put the housing cover back over the drive unit. The arrow on the housing
cover must match the open padlock symbol on the container. Turn this clockwise tightly back onto the container. Operation Remove the cover on the underside of the device. Press and hold the ON / OFF button on top of the device to operate the grinder and switch on the built-in light. You can set the desired grinding degree using the knurled screw at the bottom of the device: Clockwise = finer, Counter clockwise = coarser. If the grinder no longer rotates with a very fine setting, select a coarser setting. If the grinder still does not turn, it may be clogged. Then select the Operation10 coarsest setting and shake the pepper mill back and forth until the grinder can be operated again. If the grinder no longer rotates or only rotates very slowly, the batteries are flat. In this case, replace the 6 batteries with a completely new set. Do not mix rechargeable batteries with batteries or used batteries with fresh ones. Cleaning Clean the container immediately before you intend to add new pepper or salt. Shake the container empty first and remove any remaining grains with a small food-safe brush. Never wash the container with water or any other liquid.
