How to install a hard drive in the docking station?

Insert the SATA hard drive (2.5" or 3.5") into the slot. Connect the power adapter, then connect the USB cable to your computer. The hard drive must be initialized, partitioned, and formatted via the operating system to be recognized.

How to use the OneTouchBackup (OTB) function?

Install the OTB software from the included CD or the website. Press the OTB button to start backup. Confirm with "OK" or a second press of the button to start automatic backup.

What types of hard drives are compatible?

The station is compatible with SATA I/II/III hard drives in 2.5" and 3.5" form factors. The maximum capacity is not limited by the station.

Can I use the USB ports to charge devices?

Yes, the 3 USB 3.0 ports are designed for data transfer and charging: 2 ports provide 1 A and 1 port provides 2 A, ideal for tablets and smartphones.

What is the maximum transfer speed?

With USB 3.0, speed can reach 5 Gbit/s. UASP support enhances performance for compatible drives.

Is the hard drive recognized immediately after installation?

The station is Plug & Play and Hot Swap. The hard drive must be formatted beforehand. If it is new, use your OS disk management tool to initialize it.

Is the power adapter necessary?

Yes, the power adapter (100-240 V AC, output 12 V/3 A) is essential to power 3.5" hard drives and USB charging ports. Without it, only 2.5" drives can operate via USB.

Can I use a USB 2.0 cable?

Yes, the included USB 3.0 cable is USB 2.0 compatible, but performance will be limited to USB 2.0 speed (480 Mbit/s). Use a USB 3.0 port for optimal speeds.

How to connect multiple devices simultaneously?

Connect your USB devices to the 3 front ports of the station. The charging ports can be used simultaneously with data transfer. Ensure the power adapter is connected for sufficient power.

What to do if the hard drive is not recognized?

Check that the drive is properly inserted. Ensure it is formatted (e.g., NTFS, FAT32). Try a different USB cable or port. Consult your OS disk management to initialize or assign a drive letter.

You need to choose and check the folder or file you want to backup from your source hard disk of your PC. Check the name of the hard drive above your device IB-125CH as target.

4. Application

4.1 Starting up

Connect the power supply. With the USB 3.0 data cable you can connect the IB-125CH to USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 interface.

4.2 HDD Initialization

A new HDD must first be initialized, partitioned and formatted by the operation system to be displayed by the system.

4.3 USB 3.0 Ports / Charging Ports

Any peripheral device can be connected to the USB 3.0 ports. You also can plug any portable device (like cellphone of tablet) by their own data cable for charging. The three ports can work simultaneously.

4.4 OTB function (Windows only)

The OTB function lets you backup your data by just pressing one button. It's an easy way to backup your important data to an external hard drive.

Install the OTB software on your PC and follow the instructions described there.

Important!

If you want to backup your chosen files and folder manually, please press the OTB button on the IB-125CH enclosure.

You will be asked "Start backup now?" by your OTB software on your computer. Please confirm and click "OK" or press the OTB button again. The backup will be started.
