How to manually set the time on the WT 549?

Press and hold the MODE SET button for 2 seconds. The year flashes. Use + and - to set the year, then press MODE SET to move to month, day, language, time zone, 12/24 format, hours, minutes, and finally temperature unit. Press MODE SET after each setting.

How to set the alarm?

Make sure the alarm switch on the back is set to ON. Press MODE SET once to display alarm 1, twice for alarm 2. Press and hold ALARM for 2 seconds, the hours flash. Use + and - to set, press ALARM for minutes, then again for snooze delay.

The projection does not work, what to do?

Continuous projection requires the mains adapter. Check that the adapter is plugged in. With the adapter, press the - button to choose brightness (high/low/off). In battery mode, projection only activates for 8 seconds after pressing SNOOZE/LIGHT.

The clock does not receive the DCF signal, why?

Place the clock near a window, away from electrical devices (TV, computer) and metal structures. Maintain a distance of at least 2.5 m from interference sources. Concrete walls can weaken the signal. If reception fails, an automatic retry will occur at the next full hour.

How to change the backlight color?

Press the Loop button to activate automatic color change. For a fixed color, disable Loop then press Rainbow to cycle through colors: white, red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple.

How to display the maximum and minimum temperature?

Press the ALARM-MEM button once to view the recorded maximum temperature, twice for the minimum. A third press exits the display.

What does the low battery icon mean?

The low battery icon appears in the outdoor temperature window when the outdoor sensor batteries are low. Replace the sensor batteries immediately with new ones.

How to add an additional outdoor sensor?

Press and hold the +/CH button for 2 seconds to start sensor search. Ensure the new sensor is powered on and nearby. The clock can handle up to 3 channels (sensors).

Are the weather forecasts reliable?

The forecasts are based on an internal pressure sensor and are valid for the next 12 to 24 hours. They give a general indication (sunny, cloudy, rainy) but do not replace professional weather reports.

How to reset the device to factory settings?

To reset, remove the batteries and unplug the mains adapter for a few minutes. Then reconnect the adapter and reinsert the batteries. The clock will restart and begin searching for the DCF signal.

Initial operation

• Connect the included power supply with the socket on the backside
• Alternatively you can use batteries. Open the clocks battery compartment cover.
• Insert 2 x AAA batteries observing polarity [ “+” and “−” marks].
• When you insert the batteries, all icons on the LCD display will light up for 3 seconds, you will hear a beep tone and the clock detects indoor temperature.
• Then the clock will enter the radio controlled time signal reception mode.

Projection function:

• Continuous projection is only possible by using the power adapter
• When using the DC-adapter supply, touch the “-” button can choose high brightness / low brightness / no backlight brightness. The projection will always work.
• Press and hold the " " button to rotate the projection by 180°.

Battery Mode

- Touch once “SNOOZE/LIGHT” button to active backlight and projection for 8 seconds (the projection switch in “ON” position)

DC-adapter Mode

- When using the DC-adapter supply, touch the “-” button can choose high brightness / low brightness / no backlight brightness. The projection will always work.

Please note:

- When the projection is triggered, the projection distance is about 2 meters.

Reception of the Radio signal

• The clock automatically starts the DCF signal search of any restart or changing of new fresh batteries. The radio mast icon starts to flash.
• At 1:00 /2:00 / 3:00 am, the clock automatically carries out the synchronization procedure with the DCF signal to correct any deviations to the exact time. If this synchronization attempt is unsuccessful (the radio mast icon disappears from the display), the system will automatically attempt another synchronization at the next full hour. This procedure is repeated automatically up to total 5 times.

- To start manual DCF signal reception, press and hold down the “+” and “-” buttons for two seconds. If no signals received within 7 minutes, then the DCF signal search stops (the radio mast icon disappears) and start again at the next full one hour.

Please note:

• A flashing radio mast icon indicates that the DCF signal reception has started

• A continuously displayed radio mast icon indicates that the DCF signal was received successfully

• We recommend a minimum distance of 2.5 meters to all sources of interference, such as televisions or computer monitors

• Radio reception is weaker in rooms with concrete walls (e.g.: in cellars) and in offices. In such extreme circumstances, place the system close to the window.
• During the radio controlled clock signal receive mode, only the "SNOOZE" button function, other buttons have no function.

Manual time setting

• Press and hold the “MODE-SET” button for 2 seconds and the Year display 2015 starts to flash. Now use “+” and “-” buttons to set the year.
• Press “MODE-SET” button to confirm your setting, the Month and Date icon display starts to flash. Now use “+” and “-” buttons to set the date display on Month/Date or Date/Month.
• Press “MODE-SET” button to confirm your setting, the Month display starts to flash. Now use “+” and “-” buttons to set the month.

• Press “MODE-SET” button to confirm your setting, the Date display starts to flash. Now use “+” and “-” buttons to set the date.

• Press “MODE-SET” button to confirm your setting, the language selection for the Weekday displays starts to flash. Now use “+” and “-” buttons to select a language: German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Danish

• Press “MODE-SET” button to confirm your setting, the Time zones start to flash, Now use “+” and “-” buttons set the time zone (-1 to +2). For Germany the time zone is 0, for UK it is -1.
• Press the “MODE-SET” button and the 12/24 hour mode display starts to flash. Now use “+” and “-” buttons to set the 12/24 hour mode.
• Press “MODE-SET” to confirm your setting, the hour display starts to flash. Now use “+” and “-” buttons to set the hour.
• Press “MODE-SET” to confirm your setting, the Minute displays starts to flash. Now use “+” and “-” buttons to set the minute.
• Press the "MODE-SET" button to confirm the setting and the °C / °F temperature display will flash. Press the "+" or "-" button to change the format.
• Press the "MODE-SET" button to confirm the setting and the weather forecast will start to flash. Press the "+" or "-" button to set the current weather situation.
• Press “MODE-SET” to confirm your setting and to end the

setting procedures.

Please note:

- After 30 seconds without pressing any button, the clock switches automatically from Set Mode to Normal Time Mode.

Setting the daily alarms:

• Please toggle the alarm switch to ON position, LCD display the “ ” icon, the alarm function is ON, toggle the alarm switch to OFF position, the “ ” icon will disappears from the display, the alarm function is OFF.
• Press “MODE-SET” button once, to switch display to first alarm time. Press “MODE-SET” button twice, to switch display to second alarm time.
• Press and hold “ALARM” button for 2 seconds until hour of the first Alarm time starts to flash. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to set the required hour.
• Press “ALARM” button to confirm your setting, The Minute of the Alarm time starts to flash. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to set the minute.
• Press “ALARM” button for 2 until hour of the second Alarm time starts to flash. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to set the required

hour.

• Press “ALARM” button to confirm your setting, The Minute of the Alarm time starts to flash. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to set the minute.
• Press “ALARM” button to confirm your setting. The snooze time of the Alarm starts to flash. Use the “+” and “-” buttons to set the Snooze time.
• Press “ALARM” button to confirm your setting and to end the setting procedure.

Please note:

• After 30 seconds without pressing any button the clock switches automatically from setting mode to Normal clock mode.
• The alarm will sound for 2 minutes if you do not deactivate it by pressing any button. In this case the alarm will be repeated automatically after 24 hours.
• Rising alarm sound (crescendo, duration: 2 minutes) changes the volume 4 times whilst the alarm signal is heard.

Switching off the alarm signal

- Press any button except the "Snooze" button to stop the alarm

signal. It is not necessary to reactivate the alarm. It switches itself automatically to the alarm time which has already been set.

Snooze function

- Touch the “Snooze” button the alarm signal sounds to get to SNOOZE mode. The alarm signal sounds again after the Snooze time.

Color change display

- Press "Loop" button to turn on or off the backlight color change.

- Turn off the loop function and press "Rainbow" button, the backlight will change its color in this sequence: white > red > orange > yellow > green > cyan > blue > purple

Checking MAX/MIN temperature records

- Press “ALARM-MEM” button once to check the maximum temperature records. Press it twice to check the minimum records. Press it again to exit.

Weather forecast

- The station contains a built-in sensitive pressure sensor to predict the weather forecast for the next 12-24 hours.

Viewing the channel

- The default channel is Channel 1. In normal time mode, press “+/CH” button to view the channels from 1 to 3.

- Press and hold “+/CH” button for 2 seconds to start the sensor search.

Temperature trend

- The temperature-trend indicator shows the trends of changes in the forthcoming few minutes. Arrows indicate a rising, steady or falling trend.

Low battery indicator

- If the low battery indicator “” displays in the outdoor temperature window, it indicates that the battery power of the transmitter is not enough, and you should replace the batteries at once.

Environmental reception effects

The clock obtains the accurate time with wireless technology. Same as all wireless devices, the reception is maybe affected by the following circumstances:

• long transmitting distance

• nearby mountains and valleys
- near freeway, railway, airports, high voltage cable etc.

- near construction site

- among tall buildings

• inside concrete buildings

- near electrical appliances (computers, TV's, etc) and metallic structures

- inside moving vehicles

Place the clock at a location with optimal signal, i.e. close to a window and away from metal surfaces or electrical appliances.

• This main unit is intended to be used only indoors.
• Do not subject the unit to excessive force or shock.
• Do not expose the unit to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, dust or humidity.
• Do not immerse in water.
• Avoid contact with any corrosive materials.

• Do not open the inner back case or tamper with any components of this unit.

Batteries safety warnings
