Frequently Asked Questions - SE4000HRWS00BNO4 SolarEdge

How to connect the LG Chem battery to the inverter?
Use a shielded twisted-pair cable with 3 pairs for RS485 connection (pins: CAN_H, CAN_L, EN_GND, ENABLE_H, RS485_H, RS485_L) and a 5-pair cable for Enable. Follow the connection diagram in the manual.
How to configure the DIP switches?
Set the left DIP switch of the inverter to OFF if a meter is connected, otherwise to ON to terminate the RS485 bus. The meter must have its DIP 2 set to ON.
How to perform a battery self-test?
In SetApp, go to Commissioning > Maintenance > Diagnostics > Self-test > Battery Self-test > Run test. Make sure the circuit breaker and ON/OFF/P switch are set to ON.
What to do if the self-test fails?
Check the power and communication cables between the battery and the inverter. If charging or discharging fails, or if communication is lost, tighten the connections.
How to configure maximum self-consumption (MSC)?
In SetApp, select Commissioning > Power Control > Energy Manager > Energy Control > Maximum Self-Consumption.
How to check the connection to the monitoring platform?
In SetApp, go to Commissioning > Status and verify that 'S_OK - Server Connected' appears in the main inverter section.
Which cables to use for the RS485 connection?
Use shielded twisted-pair cable with 3 pairs, cross-section 0.2-1 mm², 600V, CAT5.
How to disconnect the battery?
First turn off the circuit breaker, then the disconnect switch or auxiliary power switch of the LG Chem battery.
How to add an energy meter via SetApp?
In SetApp, go to Commissioning > Communication > RS485-1 > Add Modbus device > Meter. The meter is automatically identified.
What information to provide to SolarEdge technical support?
Provide the model and serial numbers of the inverter and optimizer, system configuration (modules, strings), and communication method.
