Frequently Asked Questions - BG80021 Perel

How to open the safe if I forgot the code?
Use the supplied emergency key. Insert it into the emergency lock, turn it to the left, then turn the knob clockwise. Never store this key inside or near the safe.
How to program a new code?
With the door open, press the reset button. When the yellow LED lights up, enter a code of 3 to 8 digits and press the confirmation button (A or B). Two beeps confirm. Re-enter the code for validation (three beeps).
How to change the master code?
With the door open, press the '0' key and the reset button simultaneously. When the yellow LED lights up, enter a new code (3-8 digits) and confirm with the confirmation button. Re-enter to validate.
What to do if the red LED lights up?
The red LED indicates low batteries. Replace the four AA batteries with new alkaline batteries respecting polarity. Not replacing them could prevent electronic opening.
How to mount the safe to the wall or floor?
Use the pre-drilled holes on the back or bottom of the safe. Mark the positions, drill, then fix with the supplied expansion bolts. Ensure the safe is level.
What happens after several incorrect codes?
After 3 incorrect codes, the keypad automatically locks for 20 seconds. After 3 additional errors (6 total), the lockout extends to 4 minutes 30 seconds. Open the safe with the emergency key and remove the batteries to disable the alarm.
Can I use rechargeable batteries?
The manual recommends alkaline batteries. Rechargeable batteries (NiMH) can be used but their slightly lower voltage may affect operation. Prefer quality alkaline batteries.
How to clean the safe?
Clean with a damp cloth. Do not use solvents, harsh detergents, or chemicals. Avoid wetting the keypad or electronic parts.
What to do if the door does not open after entering the code?
Check that the green LED lights up after entering the code and pressing the confirmation button. If the yellow LED flashes, the code is wrong. If batteries are low (red LED), use the emergency key. Also ensure the lock turns to the right properly.
What is the warranty of this safe?
Perel offers a 24-month warranty for consumer products against manufacturing and material defects. The warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect use, normal wear, or batteries.
