How to turn on the scale?

Press the ON-OFF button. The screen lights up and displays zero when the scale is ready.

How to change the weight unit?

Press the M button until the desired unit (g, oz, ozt, dwt, ct, gn) is displayed on the screen.

How to use the piece counting function?

Hold down the C/R button, then press M to select the number of samples (25, 50, 60, 75 or 100). Place the same number of pieces on the platform and press C/R to confirm. Then press C/R to count subsequent pieces.

How to tare a container?

Place the empty container on the scale and press the TARE button. The display returns to zero. Then add the object to be weighed into the container.

How to calibrate the scale?

Hold down the M button until the scale enters calibration mode. Briefly press M to display the required weight, then place that weight in the center of the platform. The scale calibrates automatically.

What to do if the screen shows an overload message?

The message indicates that the scale is overloaded. Immediately remove the excess weight to avoid damaging the device.

How to clean the scale?

Clean the scale with a damp cloth. Never use harsh chemicals, solvents, or strong detergents. Never immerse the device in liquid.

Can I use rechargeable batteries?

The manual does not recommend the use of rechargeable batteries. Use non-rechargeable alkaline AAA batteries to avoid any risk.

Is the scale suitable for weighing liquids?

Yes, provided you use a suitable container. Use the tare function to avoid weighing the container. Be careful not to spill liquid on the scale.

What to do if the screen does not turn on?

Check that the batteries are correctly installed respecting polarity. If necessary, replace the batteries with new ones. If the problem persists, contact your dealer.

4. Batteries

WARNING

Do not puncture batteries or throw them in fire as they may explode. Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries (alkaline). Dispose of batteries in accordance with local regulations. Keep batteries away from children.

• Open the battery compartment and insert the batteries according to the correct polarity.
• Replace the batteries as soon as the display turns dark.
• Remove the batteries after use.

6. Operation

6.1 General Operation

1. Place the scale on a solid, level and non-slippery surface.
2. Switch on the scale. The scale is ready-to-use when the display shows 0.
3. Place the item to be weighed or the tare item in the middle of the weighing platform.
4. To tare an item, tap the tare button. Place the item to be weighed on the scale.
5. The weight is displayed.

6.2 Unit Conversion

Press the unit button until the desired weighing unit is displayed.

6.3 Piece Counting

1. Hold the piece-counting button pressed.
2. Press the unit button until the display shows the sample amount (25, 50, 60, 75 or 100). Place the same amount of items in the middle of the weighing platform. Press the piece-counting button to confirm.
3. To count the amount of pieces, press the piece-counting button, place the items in the middle of the weighing platform and read the results from the display.

6.4 Calibration

1. Hold the unit button pressed until the scale enters the calibration mode.
2. Briefly press the unit button. The required weight appears on the display.
3. Place the required weight in the middle of the weighing platform.
4. The scale will calibrate automatically and return to the normal weighing mode.

6.5 Error Indications

Overloaded. Remove excess weight.

Unstable scale. Please re-position the scale.

7. Cleaning and Maintenance

• Occasionally wipe with a damp cloth to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents or strong detergents.
• Do not immerse the device in any liquid.

Since its foundation in 1972, Velleman® acquired extensive experience in the electronics world and currently distributes its products in over 85 countries.

All our products fulfil strict quality requirements and legal stipulations in the EU. In order to ensure the quality, our products regularly go through an extra quality check, both by an internal quality department and by specialized external organisations. If, all precautionary measures notwithstanding, problems should occur, please make appeal to our warranty (see guarantee conditions).

General Warranty Conditions Concerning Consumer Products (for EU):

• All consumer products are subject to a 24-month warranty on production flaws and defective material as from the original date of purchase.
• Velleman® can decide to replace an article with an equivalent article, or to refund the retail value totally or partially when the complaint is valid and a free repair or replacement of the article is impossible, or if the expenses are out of proportion.
  You will be delivered a replacing article or a refund at the value of 100% of the purchase price in case of a flaw occurred in the first year after the date of purchase and delivery, or a replacing article at 50% of the purchase price or a refund at the value of 50% of the retail value in case of a flaw occurred in the second year after the date of purchase and delivery.

- Not covered by warranty:

• all direct or indirect damage caused after delivery to the article (e.g. by oxidation, shocks, falls, dust, dirt, humidity...), and by the article, as well as its contents (e.g. data loss), compensation for loss of profits;
• consumable goods, parts or accessories that are subject to an aging process during normal use, such as batteries (rechargeable, non-rechargeable, built-in or replaceable), lamps, rubber parts, drive belts... (unlimited list);
• flaws resulting from fire, water damage, lightning, accident, natural disaster, etc....;
• flaws caused deliberately, negligently or resulting from improper handling, negligent maintenance, abusive use or use contrary to the manufacturer's instructions;
• damage caused by a commercial, professional or collective use of the article (the warranty validity will be reduced to six (6) months when the article is used professionally);
• damage resulting from an inappropriate packing and shipping of the article;
• all damage caused by modification, repair or alteration performed by a third party without written permission by Velleman®.
• Articles to be repaired must be delivered to your Velleman® dealer, solidly packed (preferably in the original packaging), and be completed with the original receipt of purchase and a clear flaw description.
• Hint: In order to save on cost and time, please reread the manual and check if the flaw is caused by obvious causes prior to presenting the article for repair. Note that returning a non-defective article can also involve handling costs.
• Repairs occurring after warranty expiration are subject to shipping costs.
• The above conditions are without prejudice to all commercial warranties.
