How do I connect the docking station to my computer?

Connect the supplied USB-C cable to your computer's USB-C port. The docking station works in Plug and Play mode and will be automatically recognized.

What video resolutions are supported?

The docking station supports HDMI 4K at 30 Hz resolution. Your computer must be USB-C DP Alt Mode compatible.

Can I charge my laptop through the docking station?

Yes, the upstream USB-C port supports Power Delivery up to 100 W. You need to connect a USB-C PD power adapter (not included) to the downstream USB-C port for charging.

Can I use a different USB-C cable than the one supplied?

No, the included removable USB-C cable is specifically designed for the DOCK414. Using a third-party cable may compromise compatibility and performance.

Which operating systems are compatible?

The docking station is compatible with Microsoft Windows 10, macOS 10.14 and later, and Chrome OS.

What to do if a device is not recognized?

Ensure the device is properly inserted. Try another port on the docking station. Check in Device Manager that it appears. Disconnect all devices and reconnect them one by one.

Does the docking station support SD and microSD cards?

Yes, it has an SD card slot and a microSD card slot, both supporting UHS-I (Ultra High Speed).

How to reset a USB port after overcurrent?

Unplug the device, go to Device Manager or the notification in the system tray, then choose the Reset option. You can then reconnect the device.

What is the output power for fast charging on a USB-A port?

One of the USB-A ports supports BC1.2 charging up to 1.5 A when the USB-C power delivery port and the laptop are connected.

Connecting the Dock to Your Computer

This portable dock is a plug and play device. It will automatically operate when the USB-C connector is attached to a computer/laptop equipped with a USB-C port.

The included detachable USB-C Male to Male cable is specifically designed to work with the DOCK414. Compatibility and performance will not be guaranteed if third party USB-C cable is utilized.

Troubleshooting

Device Not Working

• Make sure that the device is fully inserted into the correct port on the portable dock.
• Plug the device into a different port on the portable dock. If it still doesn't work, test the device by connecting it directly to your computer.
• Make sure that the device appears in Device Manager.
• Disconnect all devices from the portable dock and reconnect them, one at a time. Check that each device works before plugging in the next one.
  • Each laptop USB Type-C port is equipped with over-current protection. When a USB device draws more current than the USB Type-C port can supply, the port will shut down.

To re-enable the port, unplug the device and go to Device Manager or to the message in the system tray and choose the Reset option. You can then plug the device back into the portable dock. If a shut down reoccurs, check the power requirements of the device.

Verifying Devices are Installed

You can view the devices installed on the portable dock from the Device Manager window in System Properties.

Right-click My Computer, Properties, then click the Hardware tab, and then the Device Manager button.
