Frequently Asked Questions - SW 1451 FRITEL

How to use the croque monsieur press for the first time?
Before first use, remove all packaging and stickers. Clean the plates with a soft damp cloth (see cleaning). Plug in the closed appliance to 230 V, turn the thermostat to the desired setting. The red light turns on and then off when the temperature is reached. Open, lightly butter the plates (only for first cooking), add the croque, close, and let it cook. After cooking, open and remove the croque immediately.
Why does the red indicator light turn on and off?
The red indicator light turns on as soon as you turn the thermostat to a setting and turns off when the desired temperature is reached. This indicates that the appliance is maintaining the temperature.
How to clean the non-stick plates?
Let the appliance cool completely. Use a soft cloth moistened with hot water and a little detergent, well wrung out. Never use abrasive sponges or metal objects to avoid damaging the non-stick coating.
What dangers should be avoided?
Only touch the handle and thermostat during use; surfaces become very hot. Always unplug the appliance after use and before cleaning. Never immerse it in water. Do not use an extension cord. Keep out of reach of children under 8 years old.
What to do if the appliance does not heat up?
Check that the plug is connected and that the 230 V mains is working. If the appliance still does not heat up, return it to the point of sale. Do not use if the cord is damaged.
Can I use sharp objects to remove the croque?
No, never use sharp objects (knives, metal forks) as they would damage the non-stick coating. Preferably use a special waffle fork (ref. WF 1000) or a wooden/silicone spatula.
What accessories are available for this appliance?
Compatible FRITEL accessories are the waffle fork WF 1000 (stainless steel with heat-resistant handle) and FRITEL degreaser for cleaning greasy surfaces. They are sold separately.
What is the duration and conditions of the warranty?
The warranty is 2 years from the date of purchase, valid only for the initial buyer upon presentation of the original invoice. It covers construction, manufacturing, or material defects. Normal wear, professional or abusive use, and failure to follow the instruction manual void the warranty.
Can the appliance be left on unattended?
No, never leave the appliance unattended while it is operating. Unplug it as soon as cooking is finished.
How to store the appliance?
Let it cool completely. Thanks to the locking system and Cool Touch handle, you can store it vertically to save space.
