At what height should I install the hood above my cooktop?
For an electric cooktop, install the hood at least 24" (61 cm) and at most 36" (91.4 cm) above the cooking surface. For a gas cooktop, the minimum height is 27" (68.6 cm). Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations and local codes.
How do I clean the metal grease filter?
The metal grease filter is removed by pulling the spring handle, then pulling the filter downward. Wash it in the dishwasher or with a hot detergent solution. Dry it completely before reinstalling. Charcoal filters for recirculation are not washable and must be replaced every 6 months.
What type of duct should I use for venting?
Use only rigid metal duct of 6" (15.2 cm) diameter. Aluminum or plastic ducts are prohibited. Avoid flexible duct as it reduces performance. Ensure all connections are airtight with duct clamps.
Can I install the hood in recirculation mode without external venting?
Yes, you can use the optional recirculation kit (ref. W11548458) which includes a deflector and charcoal filters. The air is then filtered and returned to the kitchen through the vents of the duct cover.
How do I replace an LED bulb?
The LED lamps are integrated and must only be replaced by a qualified service technician. Contact customer service or an authorized service center for assistance.
What electrical power is required?
The hood requires a 120 V AC, 60 Hz, 15 amp circuit protected by a fuse or circuit breaker. A separate ground conductor is recommended. Have the wiring done by a qualified electrician.
How do I adjust the fan speed?
The controls are located on the front of the hood. Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the fan at minimum speed. To change speed, press the MED button for medium or HIGH button for high. Press ON/OFF again to turn off.
What is the maximum vent duct length?
The maximum equivalent length of the vent circuit is 35 feet (10.7 m). Use the calculation chart in the manual to add equivalent lengths of elbows and straight sections.
Is the hood noisy?
The noise level depends on the fan speed. The minimum speed (ON/OFF) is designed for quiet operation. Medium and high speeds are more powerful but may be noisier. A properly installed duct reduces turbulence noise.
