How to turn the HP 50G calculator on and off?
To turn on, press the ON key located at the bottom left of the keyboard. To turn off, first press the right arrow (→) then ON (the OFF function is indicated at the top right of this key).
How to adjust the screen contrast?
Hold down the ON key while pressing the + key (to darken) or - key (to lighten).
What type of batteries does the HP 50G use?
It uses 4 AAA (LR03) batteries as the main power source and one CR2032 lithium battery for memory backup.
How to switch from algebraic mode to RPN mode?
Press the MODE key, select 'Operating Mode' using the arrow keys, then choose 'Algebraic' or 'RPN' via the +/- key or menu. Confirm with the OK key.
How to use the Equation Writer?
Press the key combination → EQW (third key of the fourth row). You can then enter mathematical expressions in textbook notation and edit them using the arrows and menus.
How to insert an SD card into the HP 50G?
The SD slot is located on the bottom edge of the calculator. Insert the card with the label facing down (opposite side of the keyboard) until it clicks. To remove it, press gently on it to eject.
How to format an SD card on the calculator?
Insert the card, hold ON and press F4 to access the system menu. Choose 0 (FORMAT). Formatting deletes all data.
The calculator displays 'Change battery', what to do?
Replace the CR2032 backup battery as soon as possible. Be careful not to remove the main batteries at the same time to avoid data loss.
How to perform a simple calculation in RPN mode?
For example, to calculate 3 + 2, enter 3 ENTER 2 +. The operands are entered into the stack, and the operator is then applied.
