USER MANUAL IAN 378847 Playtive

  • Children may only play with the product under adult supervision.
  • Warning. Neither the packaging/mounting materials nor the ‘SUPER DRY’ pouch (desic- cant) are a constituent part of the toy and they must be removed before the product is given to children to play with.
  • Warning. Desiccant contains calcium chloride (CAS 10043-52-4). Keep out of reach of children.
  • Check the product for damage or wear before each use. Only use the product if it is in perfect condition!
  • Only use the battery type: LR03.
  • Warning. Do not use close to the ear. Misuse may cause damage to hearing. Battery warning notices!
  • Remove the batteries when they are flat, or if the product is not in use for an extended period.
  • Do not use different types or brands of battery or new and used batteries together or batter- ies with different capacities as these can leak and cause damage.
  • Ensure the polarity (+/-) is correct when insert- ing the batteries.
  • Replace all batteries at the same time and dispose of the old batteries as prescribed.
  • Warning! Batteries must not be charged or re- activated by other means, taken apart, thrown into fire or short-circuited.
  • Always keep batteries out of reach of children.
  • Do not use rechargeable batteries!
  • Cleaning and maintenance must not be car- ried out by children without supervision.
  • Clean the battery and device contacts as needed and before inserting.
  • Do not expose the batteries to extreme condi- tions (e.g. radiators or direct sunlight). Other- wise there is an increased risk of leakage.
  • Batteries can be life-threatening if swallowed. Therefore, store batteries in a place inac- cessible to small children. Medical attention must be sought immediately if a battery is swallowed.18 Danger!
  • Handle damaged or leaking batteries with extreme caution and dispose of them properly as soon as possible. Wear gloves when doing so.
  • If you come into contact with battery acid, wash the affected area with soap and water. If battery acid gets in your eye, rinse it with water and seek medical attention immediate- ly!
  • The connection terminals must not be short-cir- cuited. Inserting the batteries (Fig. A) WARNING! Observe the following instructions to avoid mechanical and electrical damage. Before using the product for the first time, insert the batteries (2) included with the product.

1. Using a suitable screwdriver (not included

in the package contents), unscrew the screw (1a) on the battery compartment cover (1b) on the underside of the product (1). Note: make sure that the screw is kept away from children and does not get lost.

2. Remove the battery compartment cover and

carefully insert the batteries into the battery compartment (1c). The batteries must be inserted fully into the battery compartment. Note: check the plus/minus poles of the batter- ies and insert them correctly.

3. Screw the battery compartment cover firmly

back onto the underside of the product. Replacing the batteries When the batteries (2) are flat, replace them. Follow the instructions in the section ‘Inserting the batteries’. Before inserting new batteries, remove the old batteries from the battery compartment (1c). Turning the product on and off (Fig. B) Use the sliding switch (1g) to turn the product on and off, and to adjust the volume. The product has two volume levels:

  • Slide the switch to the centre to turn the pro- duct on and set the volume to ‘quiet’.
  • Slide the switch up to set the volume to ‘loud’.

notes/melodies play in succession, and the white keys (1j) light up in alternating patterns. Note: various sounds are generated depending on whether you set the sliding switch (1i) to ‘Piano’ or ‘Crazy sound’ (1i) before pressing the ‘Music’ button.

3. If you press a key while the various notes are

playing, the sounds being played are inter- rupted and you can press the keys manually. ‘Xylophone’ button

1. Press the ‘Xylophone’ button (1e) and a

xylophone sound plays once to confirm your action.

2. Press any keys (1j) and another xylophone

2. Press the ‘Crazy sound’/‘Piano’ button (1f)

and a note will play briefly.

3. Press any keys. Each time you press a key,

another crazy sound or piano note will play and the key will briefly light up in colour. ‘Melody’ button

2. Press the ‘Melody’ button (1h) and piano and

  • The number of melodies is determined by the slider (1i): – Slider on ‘Crazy sound’: crazy sound and xylophone melodies – Slider on ‘Piano’: piano and xylophone melodies – The keys light up if you press them during the melody. Setting key sounds You can assign piano notes or crazy sounds to the keys (1j) by adjusting the slider (1i). To do so, set the slider (1i) to the ‘Piano’ or ‘Crazy sound’ symbol. Storage, cleaning When not in use, always store the product dry, clean, without batteries and at room tempera- ture. Wipe clean with a dry cloth only. IMPORTANT! Never clean the product with harsh cleaning agents. Disposal In the interest of protecting the environ- ment, do not throw your product into the household waste once you are finished with it, but rather take it to a specialty disposal facility. Find out about collection sites and their hours of operation from your local authority. Defective or used batteries must be recycled pursuant to Directive 2006/66/EC and changes to it. Return batteries and/or the product via the collecting sites provided. Packaging materials, such as plastic bags, must be kept away from children. Keep the packaging materials out of reach of children. Environmental damage caused by improper disposal of batteries! Batteries may not be disposed of with household waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to hazardous waste treatment. The chemical symbols of the heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. Dispose of used batteries at a municipal collection site. Dispose of the product and packaging in an environmentally friendly manner. Note the label on the packaging materials when separating waste, as these are labelled with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meaning: 1–7: plastics/20–22: paper and card- board/80–98: composite materials. The product and the packaging materials can be recycled, dispose of them separately for better treatment of waste. The Triman logo only applies to France. Notes on the guarantee and service handling The product was produced with great care and under continuous quality control. Claims under the guarantee can only be made within the guarantee period by presenting the original sales receipt. Please therefore keep the original sales receipt. The guarantee period is not extended by any repairs carried out under the guarantee, under statutory guarantees, or as a gesture of goodwill. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts.
