How to adjust the grind on the MDXS OnDemand?

Turn the adjustment knob (4) to the right for a finer grind, to the left for a coarser grind. The adjustment is stepless and should be done gradually, grinding a little coffee every 2 notches maximum. Do not turn the knob while the motor is stopped, as this could block the machine.

How to program the dispensing time for a dose?

Select the dose (single or double) by pressing the corresponding button (C or D). Then use the increment (E) and decrement (B) buttons to adjust the dispensing time. Weigh the ground coffee to obtain the desired dose.

How to activate continuous dispensing?

Press simultaneously the (C) and (D) buttons until both light up and the continuous dispensing symbol (D6) appears. Then hold down the grind activation pusher (7) for continuous dispensing; release it to stop.

How to clean the coffee grinder?

Unplug the appliance. At least once a week, remove the bean hopper (2), close the flap (3) and clean the oily layer with a clean cloth. Clean the dispensing chute frequently with a brush and vacuum cleaner. Do not use aggressive products.

What to do if the grinder jams or the motor does not turn?

Check that the grind setting is not too fine and that the bean hopper is not empty. If the knob was turned while the motor was stopped, unblock it by turning it gently and carefully. If the blockage persists, contact a specialized technician.

How to reset the dose counters?

Press simultaneously the increment (E) and decrement (B) buttons for more than 5 seconds. The single and double dose counters (D4 and D8) will be reset to zero.

How to lock the functions to prevent accidental modifications?

Press and release simultaneously the (E) and (B) buttons. The padlock symbol (D3) is displayed, all functions are locked except dose selection and start. Repeat the operation to unlock.

How to adjust the filter holder fork?

Loosen the fork fixing screw (6) with a Phillips screwdriver. Adjust the height of the fork according to the filter holder, then tighten the screw. Do not completely unscrew the screw.

What is the first start-up procedure?

Install the bean hopper (2) by aligning the hole with the rear screw. Push the flap (3) to close, fill with beans, set the switch (5) to the on position, then pull the flap (3). The machine is ready for use with factory settings.

When should the grinder burrs be replaced?

It is recommended to replace the flat burrs every 350 kg of ground coffee to ensure consistent and precise grinding. This operation should be carried out by a specialized technician.

APPLICATIONS AND USE

• This grinder dispenser has been devised for professional use by trained personnel.
• The grinder/dispenser must be used only for the application for which it was designed; that is, grinding roasted coffee beans. Any other use must be considered improper and therefore dangerous.
• The manufacturer shall not be held responsible for damages deriving from improper, erroneous or unreasonable use of the machine.
• The appliance must not be used by children or people with reduced, physical, sensorial or mental abilities. It must also never be used by people without the necessary skills and experience unless under supervision or during training. Do not allow children to play with this equipment at any time.
• The machine is not designed for use in extreme environmental conditions and in any case at temperatures outside the -5^ to +40^ range.

Before operating the appliance, it is necessary to fit the coffee bean container (2).

Insert the container (2) into its seat, positioning it so that the hole lines up with the screw on the back part of the appliance.

This appliance can make doses based on the grinding time.

It is furthermore necessary to set up the appliance before operating, by determining first of all the coffee blend type (more roasted or less) and the degree of grinding.

Grinding time is then set for each dose key by weighting the grinding product.

• After having plugged the appliance in, push the tab (3) at the bottom of the coffee bean container (2) to close it.
- Remove the cover (1) from the container (2) and fill it with coffee beans.
- Bring the switch (5) to on position.
- Pull the tab (3) permitting passage of coffee beans.

Select the single or double dose through the corresponding keys (C) or (D). Place the filter holder onto the fork (6) and insert it against the filter holder restraint, push it forward until it touches the key (7) to dispense the ground coffee from the corresponding spout (8). Dispensing stops once the preset time has elapsed.

Set grinding by means of the adjusting knob (4), by rotating it clockwise to make powder finer or anticlockwise to increase the size of its grain as shown on the knob. Setting is stepless; it is to be gradually performed, by grinding some coffee every two notches maximum.

When knob is rotated of a turn with stationary motor, the appliance may stop.

By using a crosshead screwdriver, loosen the fastening screw of the filter holder fork (6) It is recommended not to unscrew the screw completely.

Raise or lower the fork in order to adjust it according to filter holder dimensions.

Once having reached the correct position, tighten the fork fastening screw (6).

The appliance is equipped with a filter holder retaining device.

By pressing the key for one dose (C) this lights up and the cup is filled (D2) during dispensing.

By pressing the grinding start key (7) for more than 0.3 seconds, dispensing and countdown until zero are activated.

Once dispensing is completed, after 1 second, the zero returns to set value.

The single dose counter is increased of 1.

By pressing the key for two doses (D) this lights up and the cup is filled (D7) during dispensing.

By pressing the increasing key (E) and decreasing one (B) the dispensing time of the properly selected dose is increased or decreased.

Both dose keys light up and the continuous dispensing symbol appears (D6).

By pressing one of the keys (C) or (D) you return to the automatic mode of dose selection.

PROGRAMMATION PAR DEFAULT VALEURS MACHINE

Cleanliness is a basic aspect for the proper functioning of the coffee grinder with a dosing unit. A neglected coffee grinder with dosing unit may have a negative impact on coffee dispensing as well as on the accuracy of dose and grinding. Before cleaning, make sure the appliance is unplugged. At least once a week, remove the coffee bean container (2), by unscrewing the appropriate fastening screw situated on the side of the container, pulling the tab to close it (3) and remove the oily coat left by coffee beans by means of a clean cloth.

It is furthermore necessary to often clean (several times a day) the dispensing spout through a brush and a vacuum cleaner.

In case such operations are not carried out, the aromatic oily part contained in coffee may turn rancid with negative consequences on coffee, furthermore the lack of cleanliness may jeopardize regularity of the dose itself.

Clean the base by means of a damp cloth.
