Frequently Asked Questions - FKU1500.0i Küppersbusch

How to adjust the refrigerator temperature?
Turn the thermostat to the minimum position for less cold, or to the maximum position for more cold. An intermediate setting is usually the most recommended. The internal temperature depends on several factors such as ambient temperature, frequency of door opening and quantity of stored food.
What to do if the appliance does not cool?
First check that the appliance is on and the power plug is properly inserted. Ensure that the power outlet is live. If the problem persists, contact a qualified electrician or the authorized after-sales service.
How to clean the interior of the refrigerator?
Before any cleaning, unplug the appliance. Use a soft damp cloth with warm water and a mild detergent. Never use abrasive products, scouring pads, solvents or metal objects. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
How to change the light bulb?
Unplug the appliance. Remove the diffuser screw using a screwdriver, then detach the diffuser by pulling it. Replace the bulb with an LED bulb of identical characteristics (E14 base, maximum indicated power). Reassemble the diffuser and tighten the screw. Plug the appliance back in.
Why is there water in the refrigerator?
This may be due to a clogged defrost water drain hole. Clean it with the special stick provided. Make sure the food is not touching the back wall. Check that the drain hose is properly connected to the evaporation tray.
The appliance makes noise, is that normal?
Yes, some noises are normal: a slight gurgling of the refrigerant, a humming from the compressor, a cracking due to thermal expansion and a clicking from the thermostat. If the appliance is unsteady, check that it is level.
How to defrost the refrigerator?
The defrosting is automatic in the refrigerator compartment: the frost melts when the compressor stops. The water flows to a container at the back and evaporates. Regularly clean the drain hole with the special stick to prevent overflows.
Which foods should not be placed in the refrigerator?
Do not place bananas, potatoes, onions and garlic unpacked in the refrigerator. Avoid putting hot foods or boiling liquids. Store fruits and vegetables in the special drawer after cleaning them.
How to save energy with this refrigerator?
Avoid opening the door too often and do not leave it open unnecessarily. Place the appliance away from heat sources (radiator, stove, direct sunlight). Ensure sufficient air circulation at the back. Let food cool down before storing it.
What to do in case of prolonged power outage?
If you cannot unplug and empty the appliance, regularly check its proper operation to prevent food from spoiling. In case of prolonged non-use, unplug the appliance, remove all food, clean it and leave the door open to prevent odors.
