The ear defenders are meant for ear protection but are not unbreakable. This mesh visor is meant for face protection against moderate impact hazards but is not unbreakable. Never alter or modify the ear defenders and visor. A damaged ear defender reduces protection and should be replaced immediately. The fitting of hygiene covers to the cushions may affect the acoustic performance of the ear muffs.
It is the responsibility of the user to acquaint themselves with the hazards to be encountered and select the correct level of ear protection for use in the hazardous area. A damaged visor reduces both protection and vision and should be replaced immediately. This visor does not have any filtering action and does not protect against molten metal splash, hot solids or electrical hazards.
The materials which come into contact with skin may cause allergic reactions to susceptible individuals. If a reaction occurs, leave the area and remove the visor and seek medical advice.
This product may be adversely affected by certain chemical substances. Further information should be sought from the manufacturer.

Intended Use
Provides protection when using electric, battery and petrol garden power tools, including chainsaws, strimmers, hedge cutters and lawn mowers that create high noise levels and may throw dust and debris towards the face of the operator.
Assembly and Fitting
- Position the ear cups halfway on the headband slot (Image A) and turn the cups so the connector is in line with the slot (Image B) then pull off the headband
- Locate the two slots for the headband (Image C) and carefully insert the headband (Image D)
- Position the angled part of the headband so it is in the slots (Image E)
- Refit the ear defender cups to the headband by positioning halfway in the headband slot and turning
- Fit the mesh visor over the pins (Image F) then turn the pins at the far side of the visor 180° (Image G) and the centre pin to the top (Image H). Check it is secure and correctly positioned (Image I)
-
The forestry hat is now assembled (Images L & M) but adjustments must be made to ensure a good fit
-
The height of the ear defender cups can be adjusted in the headband slots for maximum sound attenuation and comfort
- Adjustments to the top of the head strap are made prior to wearing (Image J). Correctly adjusted there should be no gap between the strap and the top of the head
- The strap adjuster that sits on the rear of the head can be adjusted while fitted to the head (Image K). Turning clockwise will reduce the length of the strap and anti-clockwise will increase it. Do not force the knob when it has reached its minimum or maximum strap length
WARNING: These ear muffs are of 'medium size range'. Ear muffs complying with EN352-1 are of 'medium size range' or 'small size range' or 'large size range'. 'Medium size range' ear muffs will fit the majority of wearers. 'Small size range' or 'large size range' ear-muffs are designed to fit wearers for whom 'medium size range' ear muffs are not suitable.
