How to replace the ink cartridges?
Frequently Asked Questions - 8 j
Response Notice-Facile

The OfficeJet Pro 276DW uses HP 952 ink cartridges in four colors (black, cyan, magenta, and yellow). Each cartridge is identified by a colored letter for easy installation.

Before you begin:

  • Make sure the printer is powered on
  • Wait for the print carriage to stop moving before opening the door
  • Do not lift the latch on the carriage when replacing - this could damage the print head

Replacement procedure:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door located on top of the printer
  • Wait for the print carriage to come to a stop (important: do not force it)
  • Press the front of the used cartridge to release it, then remove it from its slot
  • Remove the new HP 952 cartridge from its packaging
  • Observe the colored letters on the cartridge and the corresponding slot (they should match)
  • Insert the cartridge into the empty slot by sliding it in until it is securely installed
  • Repeat the steps for the other cartridges if necessary, ensuring that each color matches its slot
  • Close the ink cartridge access door

The printer will automatically recognize the new cartridges. The complete replacement takes only a few minutes. Important: HP recommends replacing missing cartridges as soon as possible to avoid print quality issues and a risk of damaging the ink system. Never turn off the printer when ink cartridges are missing.

How to replace the ink cartridges?
Frequently Asked Questions - 8 j
Response Notice-Facile

The OfficeJet Pro 276DW uses HP 952 ink cartridges available in four distinct colors: black, cyan, magenta, and yellow. To order the correct replacement cartridges, make sure to identify the color of each slot using the colored letters marked on the printer.

Replacement procedure:

  • Ensure that the printer is powered on
  • Open the ink cartridge access door and wait for the print carriage to come to a complete stop
  • Press the front of the ink cartridge to release it, then gently remove it from its slot
  • Remove the new HP 952 cartridge (of the appropriate color) from its protective packaging
  • Using the colored letters located under each slot, slide the new cartridge into the corresponding slot until it clicks firmly into place
  • Repeat the previous steps for each cartridge you need to replace
  • Close the ink cartridge access door

Important: Never lift the latch located on the print carriage when installing the cartridges, as this could cause misalignment and lead to printing errors. The latch must remain down throughout the operation. The printer will automatically recognize the new cartridges once the door is closed.

HP recommends replacing missing cartridges as soon as possible to avoid print quality issues and the risk of damaging the ink system. Never turn off the printer when cartridges are missing or being replaced.

Does the printer have a reset button?
Frequently Asked Questions - 8 j
Response Notice-Facile

The HP OFFICEJET PRO 276DW printer does not have an external physical reset button.

To reset the printer, you have two options:

1. Restore default settings (via the menu)

If the printer starts up correctly:

  • Touch the right arrow on the touchscreen
  • Select Setup
  • Select Tools
  • Choose Restore default settings

This procedure restores all printer configuration settings to their factory values.

2. Hardware reset (hard reset)

If the printer is unresponsive or freezes:

  • Unplug the power cord
  • Wait 60 seconds
  • Plug the cord back in

This electrical isolation reset often restores normal operation.

Respond (be the first)
The printer won't start: what should I do?
Frequently Asked Questions - 8 j
Response Notice-Facile

Your HP OfficeJet Pro 276DW won't turn on or display anything on the touchscreen? Follow these troubleshooting steps in order.

Check the power supply and packaging

  • Make sure the power cord is securely connected to both the printer and a functional wall outlet (100-240V AC)
  • Completely remove the tape and all packaging materials (inside and outside). This is often the cause of a startup blockage
  • Press the Power button (on/off button) and wait for the touchscreen to light up
  • Important: during the first startup or after installing the cartridges, initialization takes about 12 minutes. Please wait without turning off the device

Check the HP 952 ink cartridges

  • Open the cartridge access door and ensure that the 4 HP 952 cartridges (black, cyan, magenta, yellow) are properly installed and firmly seated
  • Remove the transport plastic covers from each cartridge if not already done
  • A missing or improperly installed cartridge can block initialization: the printer will not start without all cartridges
  • Check that the print head latch is properly closed

Perform a hardware reset

  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer
  • Wait at least 60 seconds
  • Plug the cord back in and press the Power button. Wait for the touchscreen to fully light up and display the main menu
  • If this is the first startup, wait the 12 minutes for initialization

Additional checks

  • Listen for fans and internal movements that should occur during startup
  • If the screen remains black but startup sounds are heard, the touchscreen may be faulty
  • Load plain blank paper into the input tray (missing paper can affect initialization)
  • Ensure no warning lights are flashing abnormally (only the Ready light should be steadily lit)

If after these steps the printer remains completely unresponsive, there may be a hardware issue (faulty power supply, damaged circuit board) requiring professional repair. Contact HP support by visiting www.hp.com/support and selecting your country/region to obtain the technical support number.
