How to connect my HP Officejet 8730 printer to the Wi-Fi network?

Use the control panel: press the Wireless button, then follow the on-screen instructions to select your network and enter the password. You can also use the WPS method (push-button or PIN) if your router supports it. For assisted setup, install the HP software on your computer and choose Wireless connection.

How to print from a smartphone or tablet?

Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your device. Download the HP Smart app from the App Store or Google Play, then add your printer. You can then print documents, photos, and web pages directly from your device. You can also use HP ePrint by sending an email to your printer's address.

What to do in case of paper jam?

Open the top cover and gently remove the jammed paper. If the jam is in the rear tray, open the rear panel. Always use both hands to pull straight. Check the control panel to locate the exact jam. To avoid jams, use paper in good condition, do not overload the tray, and follow media specifications.

How to replace an ink cartridge?

Turn on the printer, open the cartridge access door. The carriage moves. Wait for it to stop, then press down on the used cartridge to release it and remove it. Take the new cartridge out of its packaging, remove the adhesive tape, insert it into the empty slot until it clicks. Close the door. The printer automatically aligns the cartridges.

How to print double-sided (duplex)?

Your printer is equipped with automatic duplex printing. In the print settings of your software (Windows/Mac), select the Print on both sides or Duplex option. You can choose flip on long edge or short edge depending on the desired binding.

How to clean the printhead?

Access the Toolbox (Windows) or HP Utility (Mac). Select the Printhead cleaning tab. Follow the instructions. Cleaning consumes ink, only perform it if print quality degrades (streaks, missing colors). Regular alignment is also recommended.

How to set up email printing (HP ePrint)?

On the control panel, press the HP ePrint button. The printer prints an information page with the unique email address. Enable Web services via the embedded web server (EWS) or HP software. Then send a document as an attachment to that address from any email account. Printing happens automatically.

My printer prints slowly, what to do?

Check the network connection (prefer Ethernet if possible). In print settings, reduce quality (draft). Make sure the driver is up to date. Avoid heavy tasks (high resolution). Duplex printing may slow down. If the problem persists, check the printer memory (EWS) or contact HP.

How to resolve print quality issues (streaks, faded colors)?

Perform printhead alignment and cleaning via the toolbox. Check ink levels and replace low cartridges. Use appropriate paper (HP recommended). If the problem is with a single color, the corresponding cartridge may be clogged. In that case, clean the printhead several times.

How to update the printer firmware?

Connect the printer to the Internet (Ethernet or Wi-Fi). Open the embedded web server by typing the printer's IP address in a browser. Go to the Web Services or Tools tab and click Product Update. The printer automatically checks for and installs updates if available. Do not turn off power during the update.
