How to configure the Tapo C420S2 camera?

Download the Tapo app, create a TP-Link account, then first add the hub (Tapo Smart Hub) by following the instructions. Then add the camera by pressing the '+' button and selecting your model. Follow the steps in the app to complete pairing.

What is the battery life?

The rechargeable battery provides up to 180 days of battery life based on lab tests with 10 to 20 events per day. Actual battery life varies depending on settings, usage, and environmental conditions.

What type of storage is available?

You can insert a microSD card (up to 256 GB) into the hub for local recording. A Tapo Care subscription allows cloud storage. The microSD card must be initialized in the app before use.

How does color night vision work?

The camera is equipped with a starlight sensor and LED spotlights. You can choose between three modes: infrared (black and white), full color (spotlights always on), or smart mode (switches to color upon motion detection).

What does the artificial intelligence detect?

AI detection can identify people, animals, and vehicles. You can adjust sensitivity and choose to receive specific notifications for each event type.

Can I share camera access with my family?

For the camera, press and hold the SYNC/RESET button for about 5 seconds until the LED blinks red quickly. For the hub, press and hold the RESET button for 5 seconds until the LED blinks red quickly.
