Frequently Asked Questions - WFG 47 VESTFROST

How to set the temperature of my WFG 47 wine cellar?
Use the control buttons on the control panel. The upper compartment can be set between 5 and 10 °C, the lower compartment between 10 and 18 °C. Each press increases or decreases the temperature by 1 °C. To display the actual temperature, hold the up or down button for 3 seconds.
How to reverse the door opening direction?
Unplug the appliance and place it on its back. Follow the steps in the manual: remove the right hinges, install the covers, then mount the left hinges provided. Use the screws and covers to finish. Make sure the door is properly aligned.
What to do if the appliance is not cooling enough?
First check the temperature setting. Make sure the door is closed properly and the seal is tight. Avoid opening the door too often. If the problem persists, check the ventilation around the appliance and clean the condenser.
How to clean my wine cellar?
Unplug the appliance. Clean the interior with a mixture of hot water (max 65 °C) and mild detergent. Use a soft cloth. Never use abrasive products. For the condenser, use a vacuum cleaner. The wooden shelves do not require excessive cleaning.
Does the LED light stay on permanently?
By default, the light turns off automatically after 10 minutes to save energy. To keep it on, hold the LIGHT button for 5 seconds until the display shows "LP". To return to energy-saving mode, repeat until you see "LF".
What do the HI and LO alarms mean?
"HI" appears if the temperature exceeds 23 °C, with an audible alarm after one hour. "LO" appears if the temperature drops below 0 °C, with an audible alarm. These alarms indicate a temperature problem; check the door, load, and ventilation.
How to defrost the wine cellar?
Defrosting is automatic: water flows through a hose to a tray above the compressor and evaporates. No manual action is required. If water accumulates at the bottom, check that the drain hose is not clogged.
Can I use an extension cord?
No, it is strictly recommended not to use extension cords. Plug the appliance directly into a 220-240 V grounded outlet, protected by a 10-13 A fuse.
What to do in case of a power outage?
Most power outages are short and do not affect the temperature if you keep the door closed. If the outage is long, protect the contents. After power is restored, wait 3 to 5 minutes before restarting the appliance.
Where to find spare parts?
Contact Vestfrost authorized after-sales service. To order, have the model and production date ready, which are indicated on the rating plate at the back of the appliance.

When you use the wine cooler for the first time or restart the wine cooler after having been shut off for a long time, there could be a few degrees variance between the temperature you select and the one indicated on the LED readout. This is normal and it is due to the length of the activation time. Once the Wine cooler is running for a few hours everything will be back to normal.

Defrosting, cleaning, and maintenance

Automatic defrosting

The wine cooler is defrosted automatically. Defrost water runs through a pipe and is collected in a tray above the compressor where the heat generated by the compressor causes it to evaporate.

Cleaning

Before cleaning the appliance, unplug it from the main supply. The cabinet is best cleaned using warm water (max. 65°C) with a little mild detergent. Never use cleaning agents that scour. Use a soft cloth. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly. Never use sharp or pointed implements. Avoid unnecessary cleaning of the wooden shelves, as these are made of untreated natural material. Cleaning agents may discolour the shelves.

The sealing strip around the door must be cleaned regularly to prevent discolouration and prolong service life. Use clean water. After cleaning the sealing strip, check that it continues to provide a tight seal.

Dust collecting on the condenser underneath the cabinet, on the compressor and in the compressor compartment is best removed using a vacuum cleaner.

Replacing the lighting

Light-emitting diodes designed to last the entire service life of the appliance are used. If it, however, becomes necessary to replace the light source, please call for service.

Removing the shelves

Push the shelf all the way back and tip it. It is now possible to remove the shelf.
