Safety instructions for persons in the household

1. This appliance can be used by children 8 years and older, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or with lack of experience

and/or knowledge, if they are supervised or if they have been instructed with regard to safe use of the appliance and have understood the dangers that can result from use of the appliance.

1. Children must not play with the appliance.
2. Children are not allowed to perform cleaning and user maintenance, unless they are 8 years of age or older and are supervised.
3. Keep the appliance and the power cord out of the reach of children under 8 years of age.
4. Note: The appliance is delivered without plug-in power supply. However, to charge the appliance it must be connected to the mains supply via a USB charger. In this regard the following instructions for dealing with electricity apply:
5. Strictly comply with the safety operating instructions for the respective USB charger.
6. When connecting the USB charger, ensure that the mains voltage meets the specified requirements of the charger.
7. This USB charging cable must not be operated with an external timer or a remote control system.

8. Only charge the appliance with the USB charger indoors, and protect it from moisture, heat and direct sunlight.

9. Ensure that the charging cable does not come into contact with hot parts of the appliance.

10. Unplug the charging cable from the electrical outlet only by grasping and unplugging the plug-in power supply. Never pull directly on the charging cable. Always completely unwind the power cord.

11. Unplug the USB charger from the mains supply, when it is not required.
12. To avoid power cord damage, never wrap the charging cable around the appliance.
13. As long as the plug-in power supply of the USB charger is in the electrical outlet, even if the appliance is switched off, the appliance poses a hazard in the vicinity of water.
14. Never touch the plug-in power supplies with wet hands.
15. Do not insert any objects into the appliance. There is danger of electric shock due to appliance damage.
16. Ensure that you do not damage the rechargeable battery in the appliance, e.g. through falling, impact or vibration. Do not continue to use a damaged rechargeable battery. If in doubt, contact our customer service organisation.

17. Recharge the battery on a regular basis to avoid deep discharge, and thus a possible appliance defect.

18. Attention: The provided charging cable is not suitable for data transmission!

19. If liquid should escape from the rechargeable battery, put on protective gloves immediately before handling the appliance. Do not continue to use the appliance. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Should skin or eye contact nevertheless occur, seek medical attention immediately.

Safety instructions for operation of the appliance

1. The appliance is intended for household use only; it is not designed for commercial requirements.
2. Do not use the appliance outdoors or in the vicinity of heat sources.
3. Do not use the appliance on skin where lotions or creams have been applied, this can cause skin irritations.
4. Likewise, if skin is irritated due to acne or an illness, you must not use the appliance.
5. The appliance is only suitable for human hair. Do not use the appliance on artificial hair or on animals.
6. Ensure that the appliance does not come close your eyes.
7. Switch off the appliance before you set it down or clean it.
8. Never attempt to sharpen the blades of the shaving head. If the shaving head is dull, replace it.

1. Only use the appliance for the purposes described in these instructions.
2. To avoid damage, do not use the appliance with accessories of other manufacturers or brands.
3. Check the appliance regularly for wear or damage. If there is damage, please send the appliance for inspection and/or repair to our customer service organization. Unauthorised repairs can result in serious risks to the user and will void the warranty.

Attention: The shaving head consists of sharp, pointed parts. To avoid injury, handle them with care!

Never open the housing of the appliance. There is danger of electric shock.

For safety reasons never use the appliance in the vicinity of a bath tub or sink filled with water, or in the vicinity of other vessels filled with water. If the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug the mains plug after use, since the proximity of water poses a hazard even when the appliance is switched off.

The manufacturer will not be liable in the event of incorrect assembly, improper or incorrect use or if repairs are carried out by unauthorized third parties.

BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE

1. Remove all packaging materials and any transport safety devices. Keep packaging material out of reach of children. Danger of suffocation!

2. Switching off.

3. Connect the changing cable on the charging connection of the appliance or place the appliance into the charger connect the charging cradle with charging cable.
4. Connect the other end of the charging cable to a USB charger (power cord with plug-in power supply).
5. Plug the plug of the plug-in power supply into an electrical outlet (voltage as shown on the rating plate).
6. If the appliance needs to be recharged the red indicator lamp will flash. As soon as the charging procedure is concluded the indicator lamp is illuminated green.
7. To prevent damage of the rechargeable battery, the appliance should not be charged longer than 8 hours.
8. You can use the appliance for approx. 60 minutes before it must be recharged. The maximum capacity of the rechargeable battery is only achieved after multiple charging processes.

9. Only recharge the appliance when the rechargeable batteries are completely empty. Thus the full capacity of the rechargeable batteries remains intact for a longer period of time.

10. Tips: The appliance can also be charged with a different USB charging cable, as long as it meets the technical specifications. If in doubt, contact our technical customer service organisation.

OPERATION

1. First remove all packaging materials and transport safeguards. Due to danger of suffocation, keep children away from the packaging materials.
2. If you want to use an attachment comb, fit it onto the appliance. Hold the appliance firmly with one hand, with your other hand slide the desired attachment comb onto the shaving head. The comb must audiably click into place.
3. Switch on the appianc e via he ON/OFF switch.
4. Place the appliance with the attachment comb on the skin, if possible always work counter to the direction of hair growth.
5. When cutting hair with the appliance, always pause and check the result.
6. Switch off the appliance via the ON/OFF switch to track contours or shave the neck. Pull off the attachment comb by pushing it upward with your thumb.
7. Switch on the appliance via the ON/OFF switch.
8. Place the appliance on the skin, if possible always work counter to the direction of hair growth. Do not

exert any pressure on the appliance. Ensure that the shaving head always has contact with the skin. If you tension the part of your skin you want to shave, with your other hand, it is easier to shave.

1. If hair has been caught in the shaving head, switch off the appliance and clean the shaving head, as described in the chapter, "Cleaning and care".
2. When you are finished trimming hair, switch off the appliance via the ON/OFF switch. We recommend that you first move the appliance away from your body and then switch it off.

CLEANING AND CARE

Attention: The shaving head consists of sharp, pointed parts. To avoid injury, handle them with care! Switch off the appliance via the ON/OFF switch and if necessary unplug the power cord with plug-in power supply from the electrical outlet.

1. Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids in order to clean it. Ensure that water cannot get into the housing of the appliance.
2. Never clean the appliance and the accessories in the dishwasher.
3. Do not use sponges that can scratch, scouring agents, steel wool, metal objects, disinfectants or hot cleaning agents, as they can damage the appliance.
4. Wipe off the appliance with a damp cloth.

1. From the blade side, carefully press the shaving head to the rear. Attention, he blades are sharp – danger of injury!
2. Clean the shaving head and the interior of the appliance with a soft brush.
3. Regularly apply 1 or 2 drops of acid-free oil on the shaving head.
4. Do not knock on the shaving head, this can damage the shaving head.
5. Place the tab on the bottom of the shaving head in the interior of the appliance and firmly press the shaving head onto the appliance. Ensure that the shaving head properly locks in place before reusing the appliance.

GUARANTEE CONDITIONS

We grant a 24 months guarantee, and in case of commercial use a 12 months guarantee, starting from the date of purchase for any damage demonstrably due to manufacturing defects and when the appliance has been used according to its intended use. Within the warranty period we will remedy defective materials or workmanship through repair or replacement, at our option. Our warranty terms apply only to appliances sold in Germany and Austria. For other countries, please contact the responsible importer. In the event of a claim for remedy of defects, please send the appliance to our after sales service, properly packaged, together with a copy of the automatically generated sales receipt, which must show the date of purchase, and a description of the defect. You can print out a return receipt on our website www.unold.de/ruecksending. (only for entries from Germany and Austria). The warranty does not cover damage from normal wear, improper handling and failure to comply with the maintenance and care instructions. The warranty is void if repairs or modifications are made to the appliance by third parties. Any claims of the end consumer vis-à-vis the retailer are not limited by this warranty.

WASTE DISPOSAL / ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Our appliances are produced on a high quality level for a long lifetime. Regular maintenance and expert repairs by our after-sales service can extend the useful life of the appliance. If an appliance is defective and repair is not possible we ask you to follow the following instructions for disposal. Do not dispose this appliance together with your standard household waste. Please bring this product to an approved collection point for recycling of electric and electronic products. By separate collection and disposal of waste products you help to protect natural resources and ensure, that the product is disposed in an adequate way to protect health and environment. This appliance contains rechargeable batteries. Consequently do not dispose of the appliance as household waste at the end of its service life. Contact your responsible disposal company for information regarding proper disposal of rechargeable batteries or appliances powered by rechargeable batteries. The appliance includes a rechargeable battery installed in the handle.

Batteries that contain harmful substances are marked as follows: Pb = battery contains lead, Cd = battery contains Cadmium, Hg = battery contains mercury.
