How to set up the RT-AX1800U router?
Connect the power adapter to the router and to an electrical outlet. Connect the modem to the router's WAN port using an Ethernet cable. Connect your computer to a LAN port or to the Wi-Fi network. Open a browser and go to http://router.asus.com. The setup wizard appears automatically. Follow the instructions to configure the internet connection and Wi-Fi network.
How to reset the router to factory settings?
Press the Reset button on the back of the router for about 5 seconds until the power LED blinks. Release the button. Factory settings are restored. You can also do this via the management interface: Advanced Settings > Administration > Restore/Save/Upload Settings then click Restore.
How to change the Wi-Fi network password?
Log in to the router management interface (http://router.asus.com). Go to Advanced Settings > Wi-Fi > General. Select the band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz). In the WPA Pre-Shared Key field, enter the new password. Click Apply.
What to do if I cannot access the internet?
Check that the cable between the modem and the WAN port is properly connected and that the LAN and WAN LEDs are on. Restart the modem, then the router. Check the internet connection settings in the management interface (Advanced Settings > WAN > Internet Connection). Contact your ISP if necessary.
How to enable parental control?
Log in to the management interface. Go to General > AiProtection > Parental Control. Enable time scheduling. Select the client to control and set allowed time ranges. Click Apply. You can also block websites via URL Filter in advanced settings.
How to update the router firmware?
Download the latest firmware from the ASUS website (https://www.asus.com/support). Log in to the management interface, go to Advanced Settings > Administration > Firmware Update. Click Browse to select the downloaded file, then click Upload. The router will restart automatically.
How to set up a guest network?
In the management interface, go to General > Guest Network. Select the band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz), click Enable. Assign a name (SSID) and choose an authentication method. You can limit access to the local network. Click Apply.
How to fix Wi-Fi connection issues?
Check that the router is on and the Wi-Fi LED is blinking. Ensure the SSID and password are correct. Move the router away from sources of interference (microwaves, cordless phones). Restart the router. If the problem persists, change the Wi-Fi channel in Advanced Settings > Wi-Fi > General.
How to use the WPS function?
Enable WPS in the management interface (Advanced Settings > Wi-Fi > WPS). Select Push Button or PIN code method.
