CAUTION indicates a potentially hazardous situations which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury, or may cause machine damage. NOTE emphasizes essential information. SAFETY
GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifi cations provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fi re and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of fl ammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes. c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. 8. Check battery insertion
WARNING If the battery is inserted while the power switch is in the ON position, the power tool will start operating immediately, inviting serious accident. CAUTION Until the battery locks in place with a little click, if not, it may accidentally fall out of the tool causing injury to you or someone around you. OPERATION WARNING During use, hold the tool body securely with both hands. CAUTION
Do not put an unreasonable burden on the tool that causes the motor to lock, such as attempting to use hardened sealing material. Remove hardened sealing material, as it may cause malfunction.
Keep your hands away from moving parts while using the tool. There is a risk of pinching your fi ngers.
Wear safety glasses while working.
Pull the trigger switch to push the piston out. At fi rst, pull the switch just a little, and start slowly. (Fig. 24) When the switch is released, the piston will back up slightly before stopping. This prevents the sealing material remaining at the end of the nozzle from dripping. Trigger switch Fig. 24
The dial can be used to set the maximum push-out speed to six levels. (Fig. 25) Use it while also adjusting the amount that the switch is pulled to achieve the optimum speed, depending on the hardness of the sealing material and the temperature. NOTE If the cross-section of the nozzle is small (3 mm or smaller) or if the sealing material is pushed out at a fast speed at low temperature, there is a possibility of sealing material leakage to the piston side. Dial Fig. 25
3. How to use the LED light
While the switch is pulled, the LED light will automatically light up the tip portion of the tool. (Fig. 26) The LED light will automatically turn off the switch is released. Trigger switch LED light Fig. 26 CAUTION
Do not expose directly your eye to the light by looking into the light. If your eye is continuously exposed to the light, your eye will be hurt.
Wipe off any dirt or grime attached to the lens of the LED light with a soft cloth, being careful not to scratch the lens. Scratches on the lens of the LED light can result in decreased brightness.
Start at low speed, and see how hard the sealing material is and how well it pushes out. The speed is controlled by the dial and the amount that the switch is pulled.
Support the bottom of the holder with your hand.
When the sealing material adheres to the holder, wipe it off with a cloth. 00BookAC18DANA.indb1600BookAC18DANA.indb16 2022/03/1015:09:262022/03/1015:09:2617 English < Temporarily setting the tool down while working > It can be placed-upside down on the protrusion that is on the top of the main body. 5. LED light warning signals
This product features functions that are designed to protect the tool itself as well as the battery. While the switch is pulled, if any of the safeguard functions activate during operation, the LED light will blink as described in Table 7. When any of the safeguard functions are triggered, immediately remove your fi nger from the switch and follow the instructions described under corrective action. Table 7 Safeguard Function LED Light Display Corrective Action Overload Protection On 0.1 second/off
Remove the cause of the overload. OPERATIONAL CAUTIONS Resting the unit after continuous work After use for continuous works, rest the unit for 15 minutes or so when replacing the battery. The temperature of the motor, switch, etc., will rise if the work is started again immediately after battery replacement, eventually resulting in burnout. 00BookAC18DANA.indb1700BookAC18DANA.indb17 2022/03/1015:09:262022/03/1015:09:2618 English
