• This appliance is not intended for professional use, but is intended for domestic and similar use, such as in sta󰀨 kitchens, in shops, o󰀩ces and other working environments, by guests in hotels, motels and other residential environments, in Bed & Breakfast type environments and farms.

• Make sure that the mains voltage matches with the voltage shown on the rating plate.

• Always install the appliance on a stable and level surface where it cannot fall over.

• Parts of this appliance may become warm or hot. Avoid burning yourself. Do not touch.

• Your hands must be dry when you touch this appliance, it’s cord and plug.

• This appliance must lose its heat so give it su󰀩cient clearance around it. Also do not cover it.

• This appliance, it’s cord and plug may not come into contact with water.

• Do not touch this appliance if it have been in contact with water. Immediately unplug it.

• This appliance, it’s cord and plug may not come into contact with heat sources or open re.

• Never let the cord hang over the edge of the sink, a worktop or a table.

• Always remove the plug from the socket when you are not using the electrical appliance.

• Remove the plug from the socket by pulling the plug itself and not the cord.

• Do not use the electrical appliance if the cord is damaged.

• Do not switch on this appliance with an external timer or a separate remote controlled system.

• Children are not allowed to clean and maintain the appliance, except if they are over the age of 8 years old and supervised.

• Keep the appliance and the cable out of reach of children under the age of 8 years old.

• Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

• Be careful not to burn yourself when steam escapes from the appliance.

• Solely use the base supplied with the device and ever use it for other purposes.

• Never ll the jug kettle above the ‘max’ level.

• The lid must remain tightly closed while the appliance is in use.13

• Remove the jug kettle from the base and ll it directly from the tap

• Only switch the device on after you have lled the jug kettle with at least 0.5 liters of water. Only use cold water.

• Never open the lid while the water is still boiling.

• Only use the device for boiling or heating water. Never use it for other liquids! ENVIRONMENT

• Dispose of packaging material such as plastic and cardboard boxes in the designated containers.

• Do not dispose of this product as normal domestic waste at the end of its life, but hand it in at a collection point for the reuse of electric and electronic equipment. Look for the symbol on the product, the user instructions or the packaging showing the type of waste.

• The materials can be used as indicated. By helping us reuse and process the materials or otherwise recycle the old equipment, you will be making an important contribution towards the protection of the environment.

OPERATION The following description is associated with the image on page 2:

1. Unpack the device and remove all packaging parts.

2. Clean the jug kettle before using for the rst time (see ‘Cleaning and maintenance’).

1. Place the appliance on a at, level surface.

2. This appliance must be connected to an earthed socket.

3. Fill the jug (1) with the required quantity of water (at least 0.5 litres, and a maximum of 1.7 litres). See

water-level indicator (2). Close the lid (3) by releasing the ap on the handle.

4. Place the kettle flush on the base (7). Insert the plug in the wall socket. Push down the On/Off switch

(5). The pilot light will illuminate.

5. The kettle switches off automatically when the water has boiled. Now disconnect the kettle from the

main power supply. Always keep the lid closed when pouring the water out.

Be carefull you do not contact the hot water. It can cause serious burns. Overheating safeguard The jug kettle is fitted with an overheating safeguard. This will switch off the jug kettle if it is operated without (sufficient) water. Allow the jug kettle to cool down for at least 10 minutes before using it again.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

1. Disconnect from mains power supply and let the appliance cool down.

2. Clean the jug with a damp cloth. Never immerse the appliance in water. Never put the appliance in a

dishwasher. Make sure that the electrical connections do not become damp.

3. If the interior of the jug has become severely discoloured, then the best way to clean it is with a damp

cloth and a little washing soda. After cleaning, rinse the jug very thoroughly. PAY ATTENTION:

• When cleaning, do not use abrasive or scouring agents or sharp objects (such as knives or hard brushes) and do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. Descaling Lime will be deposited on the inside depending on the hardness of the water. For this reason the appliance must be cleaned at regular intervals.

1. Remove the plug from the wall socket, and allow the appliance to cool.

2. The jug kettle is fitted with a descaling filter. This filter must be removed for cleaning. Press the filter

(8) inward through the spout (6). The filter (8) will spring loose.

3. You can take it out through the top opening by turning the kettle upside down.

4. Fill the jug with a vinegar solution to the MAX level, and bring to the boil.

5. Leave the jug with the vinegar solution to stand for a couple of hours.

6. Empty the jug, fill with clean water to the MAX level, and bring to the boil. Empty the jug. Repeat this

• Never use ammonia or other products to descale the appliance. These can be injurious to your health. Use solely a vinegar solution, or special descaling agents available from retailers.
