Please read all warnings and safety instructions carefully before use. Precisely follow the instructions during operation as well!
The appliance is not suitable for everybody. Please follow the sections below prior to use.
A hair removal by laser or hair removal systems with an intense light pulse can cause increased hair growth in some people.
Based upon currently available data it turns out that women from the Mediterranean area, the Middle East and Southern Asia represent the largest risk group associated with side effects.
The appliance works best with darker hair types or hair that contains more melanin. Black and dark brown respond best. And although brown and light brown hair will also respond, it typically requires more sessions. Natural red hair may not respond at all. Natural white, grey or blond hair usually does not respond to applications with this appliance.
The hair growth does not stop immediately after the first use. You will get a permanent and satisfactory result by following the instructions in this manual.

Intended Use
The appliance is used to remove undesirable body hair. The appliance is not suitable for individuals under the age of 18.
It is also used for reducing the regrowth of the body hair.
The appliance is designed for the following applications areas:
Legs, arms, bikini zone, armpits, chest and back.
It is not suitable for the region of the nipples, anus or genitals (male or female).
Possible Side Effects
If the instructions in this manual are followed, side effects and complications in relation to the use of the appliance will be rare. Nevertheless, every cosmetic method, including those that are intended for domestic use, is associated with certain risks. It is therefore important that you understand and accept the risks and complications associated with intense light pulse hair removal systems for domestic use.
| Complication Likelihood | |
| Effect of multiple pulses at the same location | Minor |
| Side Effect Likelihood | |
| Slight irritation of the skin Minor | |
| Erythema Minor | |
| Increased skin sensitivity Minor | |
| Skin wounds and burns Rarely | |
| Scar formation Rarely | |
| Pigment changes Rarely | |
| Excessive redness and swelling Rarely | |
| Infection Negligible | |
| Haematoma Negligible |
Slight Irritation of the Skin
Although a hair removal with intense light pulses for domestic use is generally well tolerated, most users experience a minor discomfort during application. The irritation of the skin is usually described as a slightly stinging sensation to the treated skin surfaces. The stinging sensation usually persists as long as the flash of light is active or even a few minutes after that. Everything that goes beyond this minor discomfort is not normal and means you should either stop using the appliance since you are intolerant to this hair removal or the selected power setting is too high.
Erythema
Your skin may become red immediately after using the appliance or within 24 hours after the application. An erythema usually fades away within 24 hours. Consult a doctor if the erythema does not disappear within 2 to 3 days.
Increased Skin Sensitivity
The skin of the treated area is more sensitive than usual so that it may result in dehydration or peeling off skin.
Skin Wounds and Burns
In very rare cases, burns or skin wounds may occur after using the appliance. The burn or skin wound may take a few weeks to heal. In extremely rare cases, it will leave a scar.
Scar Formation
Despite its rarity, however, a permanent scar formation may occur. In the event of a scar formation, it usually appears in form of a flat and white lesion (Hypotrophy) on the skin. However, it can also be large and red (Hypertrophy) or large and beyond the edges of said injury (Keloid). Subsequent aesthetic treatments may be necessary to improve the appearance of the scar.
Pigment Changes
The appliance targets the hair shaft, in particular the pigmented cells in the hair follicles, and the hair follicles themselves. There is, however, a danger of hyperpigmentation (reinforced pigment or brown colouration) or hypopigmentation (fading) of the surrounding skin. The risk of changes in the skin pigmentation is higher for people with a darker complexion. Normally, colourations or pigment changes of the skin are temporary and a permanent hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation occurs rarely.
Excessive Redness and Swelling
On rare occasions, the treated skin may become very red and start to swell. This occurs more often at sensitive body sites. The erythema and swelling should subside within 2 to 7 days. Frequent cooling with ice may help to reduce the swelling. Gentle cleaning of the skin is permitted, but you should avoid exposing yourself to the sun.
Infection
An infection of the skin is extremely rare. However, there is a potential risk subsequently to a burn or skin wound caused by the appliance.
Haematoma
In very rare cases, blue marks (Haematoma) which can last 5 to 10 days may be formed after using the appliance. A russet coloration of the skin (Hyperpigmentation) may occur when the haematoma fades away.
Hair Colour and Skin Type Table
Do not use the appliance on naturally dark skin or tanned skin. The application on dark skin may result in burns, blisters and changes in skin colour.

Long-term Hair Removal
A typical hair growth cycle can last between 18 and 24 months. In order to achieve a long-term hair removal, multiple sessions with this appliance may be necessary during this period. Depending on hair colour, the body site and how the appliance is being used, the effectiveness of the hair removal will vary from person to person.
Typical Application Plan during a Hair Growth Cycle:
| Number of Sessions | Time Interval in Weeks |
| 1-42 | |
| 5-74 | |
| 8+ | As needed, until the desired results have been achieved |
The Expected Results:
| Fitzpatrick Skin Type | Hair Colour Anatomical Body Region Number | Number of Sessions Effectiveness* | ||
| I-IV | Light brown to brown | Upper or lower legs | Around 10 to 12 with 4 weeks between the sessions | 60 % Decrease of the hair growth |
| Arms | 50 % Decrease of the hair growth | |||
| Bikini zone | 60 % Decrease of the hair growth | |||
| Armpit | 55 % Decrease of the hair growth | |||
| I-IV | Brown to black | Upper or lower legs | Around 8 to 10 with 4 weeks between the sessions | 60 % Decrease of the hair growth |
| Arms | 50 % Decrease of the hair growth | |||
| Bikini zone | 60 % Decrease of the hair growth | |||
| Armpit | 55 % Decrease of the hair growth | |||
* (% of hair removal / renewed hair growth)
- The response is individual, depends on the hair type and biological factors, and may affect renewed hair growth. Some people show a result sooner or only at a later time.
• After one to two sessions a permanent decrease of hair growth cannot yet be expected. Furthermore, the inactivity of the hair follicles varies depending on the body site.

Application Instructions for Safe Use
- Carefully Select the Intensity Level of the Light Flashes
The intensity level refers to the intensity of the emitted light flashes during use, from the lowest to the highest level. The indicator lamps next to the level display (5) show the intensity level that has been set. Higher intensity levels improve the results, but also the resulting risks and side effects. (See page 82 "Possible Side Effects")
• Always Start the Application on the Lowest Intensity Level
Only increase the intensity level for the next application by one step if you experience little or no discomfort during or after use of the appliance while having set the lowest intensity level. However, also note the indicated intensity level in the table on hair colours and skin types.
- Avoiding Side Effects
- Do not use the appliance multiple times at the same skin area during one session!
- Avoid overlapping light flashes!
- Immediately stop the usage when your skin shows blisters or burns!
- Avoid Complications After Use
- Do not expose the skin to the sun after the application. This also applies to tanning with artificial light (Solarium).
The exposure to the sun involves a continuously unprotected solar radiation for 15 minutes. And a constantly unprotected solar radiation of diffuse sunlight for more than one hour. In order to protect the treated skin against sunlight, apply a sunscreen with a sun protection factor that is equal or higher than SPF 30 for 2 weeks after each use of the appliance.
- Do not use the appliance within 24 hours before or after visiting a sauna or swimming pool. The chlorine could lead to skin irritation.
- Cover birthmarks and tattoos before starting the application.
- Cover dark brown or black spots such as freckles, moles or warts before starting the application.
- Never look directly into the light flash! Always wear the supplied safety glasses when applying.
- Do not use the appliance in the region of the nipples, anus or genitals (male or female).
-
Do not use the appliance at body sites where you might want to be hairy later.
-
Do not use the appliance for any other than the intended purpose.
- Always ensure that the skin contact surface is in full contact with the skin.
- Remove the appliance from the skin if either the skin contact surface or the skin feels hot.
What You May Expect when Using the Appliance
Perhaps for many users it is the first experience with a light-based hair removal appliance that has been developed for domestic use. The appliance is easy to use and hair removal sessions are hardly time-consuming. It is normal that you perceive the following during a session with this appliance:
- Light Flash
A light flash may be visible when using the appliance. Therefore, always wear the supplied safety glasses when applying.
- Noise of the Fan
The built-in cooling fan of the appliance makes a sound that is similar to a hair dryer. This is normal.
- Popping Sound with Every Light Flash
It is normal that you hear a popping sound at the same time as the light flash is triggered.
- Slight Imprint of the Light Flash Outlet Window
This is necessary and useful, and a part of the appliance's safety feature to ensure the placement of the adjacent light flashes.
• A Sense of Warmth and Tingling
During each light flash it is normal that you experience a slight feeling of warmth and tingling. Remember that it is important to always use a low power level for the first hair removal sessions. There may be times when you feel certain warmth up to one hour after the application.
- Slightly Red or Pink Skin Colour
During or directly after a session, it is not uncommon to note a very slightly pinkish colouration of the skin. This pink colour is usually visible around the region of the hair itself. However, if your skin is completely red or blistering and burns occur, stop using the appliance immediately.
Before Use

WARNING:
Never use flammable liquids such as alcohol (including fragrances, disinfectants or other alcoholic substances) or acetone to clean the skin before using the appliance.
- Shave the skin at the location you want to use the appliance. The hair must not be removed with wax or ripped out in any kind. The shave is an important prerequisite for the desired result.
- For best results, shave the region 3 days prior to application or when the hair has a length of 1 to 2 mm.
- The skin should be clean, dry and free of any antiperspirant or deodorant.
Performing a Skin Compatibility Test
The skin compatibility test is designed to determine how your skin responds to the treatment with the appliance. Furthermore it aids in adjusting the optimal power level preference for each treatment area.
Perform a skin compatibility test on each skin area you would like to treat 48 hours before the full treatment.

WARNING:
Always wear the safety glasses when performing a skin compatibility test!
-
Proceed as described in chapter "Use of the Appliance" point 1 to 4.
-
Start with the lowest intensity level.
- Place the skin support surface onto the desired test location on the skin.
- Proceed as described in chapter "Use of the Appliance" point 6 to 8.
- Continue the test with the next higher intensity level on another test location on the skin. However, also note the indicated intensity level in the table on hair colours and skin types.
- Repeat the skin compatibility test for each body region in which you want to use the appliance.
- If you don't experience any discomfort within 48 hours, you may start the application with the last selected intensity level.
Use of the Appliance

WARNING:

Intensity level
The intensity level determines the intensity of the emitted light flash. There are 5 levels.
$$ 1 = \text { lowest level }, 5 = \text { highest level } $$
The indicator lamp next to the level display shows the intensity level that has been selected. With a higher intensity level the hair removal result will improve, but also the risk of possible side effects and complications will increase.
Do not increase the intensity level within a session. Symptoms may only occur after a couple of hours, even if you do not experience any of them at first.
- Place the skin contact surface onto the skin location. Make sure that the skin location is even and flat, and that the skin contact surface makes full contact with the skin.
- Once the skin contact surface rests completely on the skin, the indicator lamp START will start flashing. The appliance is now ready to emit a light flash.

NOTE:
The indicator lamp START only starts flashing when the skin contact surface fully rests on the skin.
- Press the release button for the light flash. The appliance will emit a light flash and you will hear a short popping sound. This is normal for the appliance. At the same time you may experience a mild, warm and tingling feeling.
- After the appliance has emitted a light flash it will power up for the next light flash. This may take a few seconds.
- Place the skin contact surface onto the next skin location. Make sure to irradiate the same skin location only once per session.
- Press the release button for the light flash.
- Proceed as described from point 6.
