TIPS FOR COOKING TEA
- Fill the tea strainer to 1/3 of the strainer height, maximum. With larger amounts, the tea leaves can no longer unfold and the flavour is impaired.
- If you are preparing different types of tea, one after the other, carefully clean the cooled glass container between the boiling processes so that the flavour is not impaired.
CLEANING AND CARE

Before cleaning, always turn off the appliance and unplug it from the electrical outlet.
Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning it.
- Do not immerse the base, power cord or glass container in water or other liquids or wash them in the dishwasher.
- Wipe off the base and the glass container with a damp cloth and a little dish-washing detergent. Do not use sponges that can scratch, abrasive scouring agents, steel wool, metal objects, disinfectants or hot cleaning agents, as these items can damage the appliance.
- Clean the glass container with a soft, damp sponge, and then thoroughly rinse out the glass container with clean water.
- Clean the tea strainer in warm dishwater and then rinse it off with clean water.
- The appliance must be completely dry on the outside before you use it again.
- Over time the inside of the glass container can turn brown, depending on the frequency and type of use. The discolouration can be reduced through regular cleaning and descaling. The function and performance of the appliance is not impaired through this discolouration, consequently it is not covered by the guarantee.
DESCALING
- To keep the appliance operating efficiently and to prolong its service life, it should be descaled regularly, depending on the hardness of the water.
- The tea strainer can remain in the appliance during the descaling process.
- Use off-the-shelf descaling products for electric kettles and comply with the manufacturer's instructions. To descale, fill the container half-full maximum, otherwise the liquid can boil over and can cause severe injuries.
- Heat the liquid to 80 °C maximum (do not boil!) and allow it to sit for some time in the glass container.
- Pour the descaling solution out of the glass container.
- Then fill the glass container with fresh water and bring to a boil. Pour out this water. Then rinse out the container at least twice with clean water.
