Assembly and setting up

WARNING!
▶ Never set up the appliance underneath wall cupboards or next to curtains, cupboard walls or other flammable objects.
▶ Always place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface.
1) Take all the parts out of the box, and remove the packaging material and any protective wrapping or stickers.
2) Clean all of the components as described in the section Cleaning and care to remove any packaging residue. Ensure that all parts are completely dry before use.
3) Place the appliance on a clean and level heat-resistant surface. Ensure that you do not place the appliance directly next to a wall or a cupboard. Each person should have unimpaired access to the pans 6.
4) Simply place the griddle ① above the heating element on the appliance. The curved side must face upwards.
5) Slide the pans ⑥ into the appliance.
Before first use
The appliance is assembled and set up as described above:
1) Plug the plug into a power outlet. The red indicator light ③ lights up to show that the appliance is connected to the mains.
2) Turn the temperature control ② to MAX. The green heat-up indicator light ④ lights up to indicate that the appliance is heating up.
3) After 20 minutes, turn the temperature control ② to 0.
4) Then pull out the plug and allow the appliance to cool down.
i Note
The first time the appliance heats up, a small amount of smoke and odour may result from production-related residues. This is normal and is completely harmless. Ensure sufficient ventilation; for example, by opening a window.
5) Clean the griddle ①, spatulas ⑦ and pans ⑥ again as described in the section "Cleaning and care".
6) Make sure that all parts are completely dry before operating the appliance.
The appliance is now ready for use.
Use
WARNING!
The surfaces of the appliance become very hot during use. Touch only the temperature control and the handles at the sides.
Raclette
1) Lightly oil the inside of the pans ⑥.
2) Plug the plug into a power outlet. The red indicator light ③ lights up to show that the appliance is connected to the mains.
3) Turn the temperature control ② to MAX to heat up the appliance. The green heat-up indicator light ④ lights up to indicate that the appliance is heating up.
i Note
The heat-up indicator light ④ may come on and go out several times during this process. This is not a malfunction of the appliance! It merely indicates that the appliance is maintaining the set temperature.
▶ Depending on the room temperature, heating up will start at different positions on the temperature control ②.
4) Allow the appliance to heat up for about 5-10 minutes. The pans ⑥ do not need to be inserted into the appliance while it is heating up.
5) Fill the pans ⑥ with the desired ingredients. Ensure that the pans ⑥ are not overfilled; otherwise, the food could get too close to the heating elements and could even touch them.
6) Place the pans ⑥ in the appliance. The slight recess in the appliance helps to keep the pans in place.
7) Turn the temperature control ② towards 0 if you want to reduce the temperature. Turn the temperature control ② towards MAX if you want to increase the temperature again.
8) Remove the pans ⑥ from the appliance as soon as the ingredients are cooked.
WARNING!
Apart from the insulated handles, the pans 6 are very hot! Therefore, hold the pans 6 only by the handle!!
9) Slide the contents of the pans ⑥ onto your plate using the spatulas ⑦.
You can now refill the pan ⑥ and insert it back into the appliance. Do not insert any used, empty pans ⑥ into the appliance. Any remaining food in the pans ⑥ could burn.
i Note
▶ Because of the non-stick coating in the pans ⑥, it is not necessary to re-grease them before every use.
10) Once you are finished using the appliance, turn the temperature control ② to 0 and pull the plug out of the power outlet.
Grill
Using the griddle ①, you can simultaneously grill meat, fish or vegetables to accompany the raclette.
1) Lightly oil the top side of the griddle ①.
2) After heating up, place the food onto the griddle ① and turn it occasionally as required.
ATTENTION!
▶ Do not use metal implements such as knives, forks, etc. when you remove food from the griddle ① as they could damage the non-stick coating. If the non-stick coating is damaged, stop using the appliance.
Cleaning and care

DANGER!
▶ Before cleaning the appliance, disconnect the plug from the power outlet! There is a risk of electric shock!

Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids!

WARNING!
▶ Always allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning it. There is a risk of burns!
It is best to clean the appliance as soon as it has cooled down. This makes food residues easier to remove.

ATTENTION!
▶ Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning materials. These can damage the surface of the appliance!
■ Wipe the appliance housing and the heating elements with a moist cloth. If necessary, put a little mild detergent on the cloth and wipe this off afterwards with clear water. Dry everything properly.

The curved surface of the griddle ① allows the juices to flow away and collect at the edges of the griddle ①. First use kitchen roll to remove any large remains from the cooled griddle ①. Clean the griddle ①, spatulas ⑦ and pans ⑥ in warm soapy water. Dry all the parts thoroughly after cleaning.

Note

The griddle ① and spatulas ⑦ can also be washed in the dishwasher. Make sure that they do not get jammed in the dishwasher. Use the upper basket in the dishwasher if possible.
Storage
- Allow the cleaned appliance to cool down before putting it away. The empty pans 6 can be placed in the appliance for storage.
■ Store the cleaned appliance in a clean and dry location free of dust.
