Frequently Asked Questions - Mercury CR6255A Crosley

How do I replace the stylus on the Mercury CR6255A?
Gently hold both sides of the stylus and pull it forward to remove it. To install the new stylus (ref. Crosley NP-15), align the back of the stylus with the cartridge, tip pointing down, then push gently until it clicks into place.
Why isn't the turntable platter spinning?
Several possible causes: the drive belt has slipped, an Aux input cable is plugged in (unplug it), or auto stop is activated. Also check that the unit is powered on.
How do I connect the Mercury CR6255A via Bluetooth?
Set the function selector to Bluetooth (ON). The indicator flashes blue. Enable Bluetooth on your device, search for 'CROSLEY CR6255A' and pair. Once connected, the indicator becomes solid blue.
What to do if there is no sound or the sound is too low?
Check that the stylus protection has been removed, that the tonearm is not lifted by the lever, and that no headphones are plugged in. Make sure the volume is high enough.
How do I use the Auxiliary input?
Plug a 3.5mm cable between your audio device and the Aux input jack on the turntable. The Aux function automatically overrides vinyl and Bluetooth modes. To return to those modes, unplug the cable.
Why does the turntable turn off by itself?
To save energy, the unit enters standby after 20 minutes without an audio signal. To reactivate it, turn the unit off and on again.
How do I adjust the playback speed?
Use the speed selector to choose between 33⅓, 45, or 78 RPM. For fine adjustment, turn the speed adjuster: clockwise to speed up, counterclockwise to slow down (up to ±10%).
Can I connect passive speakers directly to the RCA outputs?
No, the RCA outputs deliver a line-level signal, not amplified. Connect them to active (powered) speakers or to an amplifier input. On passive speakers, the volume will be very low.
How do I clean my Mercury CR6255A turntable?
Clean the stylus with a soft brush, from back to front only. Use a brush and special record cleaning solution. For the cabinet and cover, use a slightly damp microfiber cloth. Avoid alcohol, benzene, or other harsh chemicals.
What accessories are included with the turntable?
The turntable comes with a 45 RPM adapter, a 3.5mm to RCA cable, and a power adapter. If an accessory is missing, contact Crosley customer service.
