Frequently Asked Questions - SENA Nuna

How to assemble the SENA travel playard?

To open the playard, unfold the frame by pulling the two short sides outward, then press down on the center of the floor to flatten it. Next, install the mattress by threading the straps through the slots at the four corners and fasten the snaps. Ensure the floor is completely flat.

How to install the bassinet in the playard?

The bassinet attaches inside the playard. Fasten the four corner loops and snaps under the center flaps. Place the bassinet mattress (soft side up). Make sure everything is securely fastened before putting the child in.

How to clean the SENA playard mattress?

Remove the panels by opening the zipper. Wash the cover on delicate cycle in warm water without bleach. Close the zipper before washing. To reinstall, match the numbers on the black labels.

What is the maximum weight for using the bassinet?

The bassinet can be used until the child reaches 6.8 kg (15 lb) or once they get on hands and knees, whichever comes first.

Can I use a mattress other than the one provided?

No, use only the mattress provided by Nuna. A mattress that is too thick or of different dimensions could create a gap where the child risks suffocation.

How to close and store the SENA playard?

Unfasten the mattress straps, remove it, then pull the gray strap on the floor to fold the frame. Fold the sides toward the center. Place the mattress around the frame and store everything in the provided carry bag.

What safety standards does the SENA playard meet?

The playard complies with US standard ASTM F406 (travel playards) and the bassinet with ASTM F2194. It also complies with Canada's Play Yards Regulations.

What to do if a part is missing or damaged?

Contact Nuna customer service: in the USA at 1-855-686-2872, in Canada at 1-800-667-4111. Do not replace any parts with non-compliant parts.

Can I use the playard for play and napping?

Yes, the playard is designed for play and sleep. However, never leave the child unattended. For sleep, place the child on their back and remove bulky objects as soon as they stand up.

How to install the provided sheet?

Wrap the four corners of the mattress with the sheet, then securely fasten the Velcro straps of the sheet to the four corners of the playard. Make sure the sheet is snug to prevent suffocation risk.

WARNING

Setting Up the Play Yard

Be sure the product is completely set up before use, including side rails fully erected, center of the floor pushed down completely, and mattress/pad flat and secured by the hook and loop straps.

NEVER use this product if there are any loose or missing fasteners, loose joints, broken parts, or torn mesh/fabric. Check before assembly and periodically during use. Contact Nuna 1.855.NUNA.USA (1.855.686.2872) or a Nuna distributor for replacement parts and instructions, if needed. Never substitute parts.

Using the Travel Play Yard

ALWAYS provide the supervision necessary for the continued safety of your child. When used for playing, never leave child unattended.

Discontinue use of this product when child is able to climb out, reaches the height of 35 inches (890 mm), or weighs more than 30 pounds (14 kg).

Child can become entrapped and die when improvised netting or covers are placed on top of product. Never add such items to confine child in product.

When child is able to pull to standing position, remove bumper pads, large toys, and other objects that could serve as steps for climbing out.

To reduce the risk of SIDS, pediatricians recommend healthy infants be placed on their back to sleep, unless otherwise advised by your physician.

WARNING

Failure to follow these warnings and the instructions could result in serious injury or death.

DO NOT place the travel play yard close to an open fire or other heat source such as stoves, heaters, fireplaces and other hazards which can cause injury to your child.

NEVER leave child in product with side lowered. Be sure side is in raised and locked position whenever child is in product.

If a sheet is used with the pad, use only the one provided by Nuna or one specifically designed to fit the dimension of the pad.

DO NOT modify play yard or add any attachments that are not listed in the owner's manual.

NUNA SENA aire play yard is NOT for commercial use.

Suffocation Hazards

Infants can suffocate

• In gaps between a mattress too small or too thick and product sides
• On soft bedding.

NEVER add a mattress, pillow, comforter, or padding. Use ONLY mattress/pad provided by Nuna. Using a thicker or a different sized mattress/pad may allow a child's head to get between mattress/pad and side of the play yard causing suffocation.

NEVER use plastic shipping bags or other plastic film as mattress covers not sold and intended for that purpose. They can cause suffocation.

▲ NEVER use the mattress without the boards installed.

WARNING

Failure to follow these warnings and the instructions could result in serious injury or death.

NEVER use a water mattress with this product.

Strangulation Hazards

Strings and cords can cause strangulation! NEVER place items with a string around a child's neck such as hood strings, pacifier cords, etc. Keep strings and cords away from child. NEVER suspend strings on or over the product or attach strings to toys.

NEVER place the product near a window where cords from blinds or drapes can strangle a child.

The bassinet must be fully assembled and installed before using, including 4 corner buckles, 4 snaps under center flaps, and mattress/pad is flat, before using.

Using the Bassinet

You are responsible to provide adult supervision when using your bassinet.

ALWAYS keep the bassinet away from hazards in the area that may injure your child.

Suffocation Hazard:

Infants have suffocated:

• In gaps between extra padding and side of the bassinet.
• On soft bedding: Use ONLY mattress/pad provided by Nuna. NEVER add a pillow, comforter, or another mattress for padding.

WARNING

Failure to follow these warnings and the instructions could result in serious injury or death.

Fall Hazard:

To help prevent falls, do not use this product when the infant begins to push up on hands and knees or has reached 15 pounds (6.8 kg), whichever comes first.

Strangulation Hazard:

Strings can cause strangulation! Do not place items with a string around a child's neck, such as hood strings or pacifier cords. Do not suspend strings over a bassinet or attach strings to toys.

NEVER place the product near a window where cords from blinds or drapes can strangle a child.

Opening the Nuna Travel Play Yard

1 - To open the travel play yard frame, unfasten hook and loop straps from the mattress and unfold.

2 - Pull the short sides of the travel play yard frame outward.
3 - Reach through bassinet and push down on the center hub at the bottom of travel play yard.

MAKE SURE bottom of play yard is pushed all the way to the floor.

To Set Up the Bassinet

1 - Install mattress soft side up. Bassinet set up is complete.

To Set Up Travel Play Yard

2 - Remove mattress from the bassinet. Remove the 4 snaps on the bassinet fabric from the snaps at the center of each side of the travel play yard.
3 - Release the 4 buckles on the four corners of the travel play yard. Once the buckle is separated, remove long strap from the loop on the play yard.
4 - Remove the bassinet from play yard.
5 - Place the mattress on the bottom of the Travel Play Yard by feeding the straps on the corners through the slits in the bottom of play yard.
6 - Pull strap through slits in the bottom of play yard and wrap around tube and fasten snaps. Repeat on other corners.

Push down on all four corners of the mattress to assure the mattress is secured to the bottom of play yard.

Folding the Travel Play Yard

1 - Release the snap straps. Remove mattress from the travel play yard.
2 - Grab strap on bottom of travel play yard and pull up.
3 - Push sides together towards the center. Do not force.

Storing the Play Yard

4 - To store the travel play yard frame, fold the frame.

5 - Wrap the unit with the mattress, guide the hook and loop fasteners straps though the rings and attach them.

6 - Place the bag over the unit and pull the drawstring together.

Attaching the Sheet (On certain models) ⚠WARNING

Prevent possible suffocation or entanglement. NEVER use play yard sheet unless it fits securely on play yard mattress.

1 - Wrap the sheet around the mattress on all four corners. MAKE SURE sheet is securely attached to the four corners.

2 - Once the sheet is attached place the mattress inside the playard. MAKE SURE that the four hook and loop patches on the sheet are securely attached to the four corners of the play yard.

Instruction Storage

1 - Store your instructions underneath the play yard in the storage pocket as shown.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Your travel play yard and bassinet can be spot cleaned with a sponge and mild soapy water. The covering material is not removable. DO NOT soak. DO NOT use bleach or harsh detergents.

The travel play yard must be thoroughly dried before using or storing – Avoid exposure to heat and sunlight.

Your storage bag can be washed in lukewarm water using mild household soap and then drip-dry. DO NOT USE BLEACH.

Cleaning and Maintenance (Cont)

To wash your mattress, you will need to remove your boards by unfastening the zipper and pulling the boards out.

ALWAYS fasten the zipper on the mattress before washing. Wash your mattress on the delicate cycle in

lukewarm water and then drip-dry. DO NOT USE BLEACH.

To re-install boards, match the number on the black tag on the mattress with the label on the board.

Boards should be installed with the numbers facing up exactly as shown in the illustrations.

▲ NEVER use the mattress without the boards installed.

Once boards are installed in their correct slots, refasten the zipper.
