We are pleased that you decided for this superior product of German make. Its easy operation as well as the varied applications will certainly impress you as well. To make sure you can enjoy using your hot tray for a long time, please read through and carefully observe the following information. Keep this instruction manual safely. Hand out all documents to third persons when passing on the appliance. Thank you very much. Intended use The appliance is intended for keeping warm food in suitable containers in the household and similar areas, like for example: - staff kitchens in shops, offi ces and other small commercial areas - agricultural holdings - by guests in hotels, motels , Bed & Breakfasts nd breakfast pensions. Other uses or modifi cations of the appliance are not intended and may constitute considerable risks of accident. For damage arising from any improper use, the manufacturer does not assume liability. The appliance is not designed for commercial use. Technical data Only connect the appliance to an isolated ground receptacle installed according to regulations. The rated voltage must comply with the details on the rating label. Only connect to alternating current. - Always keep children under 8 away from the product and the power cord.
- The appliance may be operated by children from the age of 8 years and by persons with handicaps of physical, sensorial or mental nature, who lack knowledge or experience in handling the appliance, if they are supervised or instructed in the safe use of the appliance considered any risks, resulting from it.
- Never leave the appliance unattended during operation.
- Cleaning and maintenance by means of the user must not be carried out by children, unless they are older than 8 years and supervised.
- Children must not play with this appliance.
- Never leave the appliance unattended when operating it. Use it only for the purpose described in this instruction manual.
- Packing material like e. g. foil bags should be kept away from children.
- Put it on a heat-resistant surface and ensure free air circulation.
- Prior to each use, check the appliance and the accessories for soundness. Do not operate it if it has been dropped or shows visible damage. In these cases, disconnect the power supply and have the appliance be checked by a specialist.
- When laying the power cord, make sure that nobody can get entangled or stumble over it so that accidently pulling the appliance down can be avoided.
- Keep the power cord away from hot surfaces, sharp edges and mechanical forces. Check the power cord regularly for damage and deteriorations. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of an electric shock.
- For disconnecting the cord from the mains and from the appliance, only pull the plug, never the cord.
- Never immerse appliance, power cord or plug in water for cleaning.
- Do not store the appliance outside or in damp rooms.
- This electrical appliance complies with the relevant safety standards. In case of signs of damage to the appliance or the power cord, unplug the appliance immediately. Repairs may be executed by authorized specialist shops only. Improper repairs may result in considerable dangers for the user.
- Do not at all operate this unit with an external timer or a separate tele control system.
- Do not use the appliance´s upper side as depositing rack or working top, as it will get hot when operating the appliance! As protection against fire, do generally not put objects made of paper, plastic, fabric or other inflammable material on hot surfaces.11
- Improper use and non-observance of the instruction manual will void warranty.
- If the power cord of this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced with a special connection cable available from the manufacturer or its customer service. Safety advices for using the appliance
Warning: Hazard of injury and burns!
Casing surfaces, placed containers with food and other accessory parts become hot during use and fi rstly stay hot after switch- off! Do not splash cold water on the hot glass surface! Thus, act with caution:
- We recommend using pot cloths.
- Do not use the appliance´s upper side as depositing rack or working top as it will get hot when operating the appliance! As protection against fi re, do generally not put objects made of paper, plastic, fabric or other infl ammable material on hot surfaces.
- Do not transport the hot appliance. Appliance and accessories must have cooled completely before cleaning or moving them.
- Observe the following when setting up the appliance: o Place the appliance on a heat-resistant, stable and even surface (no varnished surfaces, no table cloths etc.). o Place it beyond children’s reach. o Leave an appropriate ventilation distance to all sides to avoid damage by heat or fat splatters and to grant an unobstructed work area. Unhindered air supply has to be ensured. o Do not operate the appliance in the vicinity of sources of heat (oven, gas fl ame etc.) or in explosive environments, where infl ammable liquids or gases are located. Attention! Hazard of fi re! The freestanding hot tray is not qualifi ed for installation!
- Do not use the appliance as space heater.
- Only use the original detachable power cord.
- Do not use the appliance to heat fl ammable or highly volatile liquids or similar substances. Pull the power plug after each use for safe switch-off.12 Always unplug and let cool down the appliance before cleaning! Never immerse appliance, power cord or plug in water for cleaning! Make sure no water or steam may infi ltrate the appliance from below!
- Clean the appliance with a damp cloth and some dishwashing detergent.
- Treat the surfaces with suitable care products from time to time.
- Never use abrasives, solvents, steel wool or pointed objects!
- Never treat the appliance with a steam cleaner! Cleaning and maintenance Attention: Hot surface!
- The heat storing warming tray has a special confi guration, which means that the stainless steel tray heats up less in the peripheral zones than in the middle of the surface. This feature prevents an overheating of the gripping areas and minimizes the risk of burns.
- The appliance has a high-quality decorative surface. Please take care to put kitchenware cautiously onto the plate and not to slide it on. Hard china may cause scratches.
- In order to avoid damage, make sure to exclusively use the attached power supply cord.
- Connect the plug for the appliance with the warming tray’s power inlet.
- Then plug the safety plug into an earthed socket.
- The warming tray reaches its maximum temperature of about 120 °C within approx. 8 minutes.
- The pilot lamp goes out.
- The plug for the appliance can be removed now.
- The appliance is now independent of power supplies and can be used for a great variety of purposes. The cumulated heat will be stored for up to one hour.
- It is possible to keep the appliance connected to the mains for a longer period. The integrated thermostat also serves as a thermal shut-off to prevent overheating. It switches off the heating element automatically as soon as the maximum temperature has been reached. When the temperature drops, the thermostat will start again all by itself and will re-heat the warming tray to maximum temperature. You can see that the thermostat adjusts itself to maintain the temperature by the pilot lamp‘s going on and off.
- Unplug the appliance after usage!
- Kitchenware with a level bottom, which provides good contact to the surface of the warming tray, is particularly suitable for keeping dishes warm.
- Bottom stand should not be too high since otherwise considerable loss in heat will occur.

Packaging material Do not simply throw the packaging material away but recycle it. Deliver paper, cardboard and corrugated cardboard to waste paper collection points. Also put plastic packaging material and foils into the specifi c collection containers. The printed or embossed markings indicate the materials which were used: PE stands for polyethylene (code 02 means high-density PE, 04 stands for low-density PE), PS stands for polystyrene and CPE for chlorinated polyethylene. PAP 20 means corrugated cardboard and PAP 21 other cardboard. All plastics are thermoplastics which are very easy and effi cient to produce. They are also very easy to recycle and therefore can even have a smaller ecological footprint than comparable cardboard packaging.
