- NEVER touch the heating element, the electrical cord or the plug with wet hands, and NEVER immerse them in water or any other liquid. They are only to be cleaned with a damp cloth. Should they get wet anyway, immediately pull out the plug from the socket.

2. BEFORE THE FIRST USE
- Remove all packagings and stickers.
- Keep all packing material out of reach of children.
- Check if there is no damage to the appliance or the power cord. If there is any damage, do NOT use the dehydrator and return it to the sales point.
- Before using it for the first time, clean the appliance (see point 5).
- Ensure that the voltage marked on the rating-plate of the appliance is the same as your main voltage. The dehydrator can only be used with 230V alternating current.
- When using it for the first time, an odour might be released. This is normal and only temporary, it will disappear soon.
- The appliance must be clean and dry.
- Spread the ingredients over the trays. Don’t put too much ingredients on each tray and don’t put them too close to each other, since the air needs to circulate optimally and blow between the ingredients.
- Note that the ingredients should be thin enough to fit in the trays.
- Place the trays on top of the appliance.
- TIP: You can place the trays in two different ways, which will give you more space or less space in between the trays (see picture on packaging and on page 2). You can adjust the difference – more or less space in between the trays – by placing the trays reversed (turn around 180° horizontally).
- Cover the appliance with the lid. The lid always needs to be on top of the appliance during its use.
- Plug in the power cord.
- Push the on/off switch.
- Choose the correct temperature.
- When the drying time is over: put the thermostat on the lowest position and turn off the appliance. Let the ingredients cool off. If you wish to preserve the dried products: put them in a tin or storage bag and put them in the freezer. ATTENTION: We advice you to place all the trays, when using the appliance, regardless the amount of empty trays. If some trays are empty, put the filled trays on top. ATTENTION: Wash and dry the food before putting it in the dehydrator. Do NOT put wet ingredients in the dehydrator. ATTENTION: NEVER use more than 5 trays simultaneously and NEVER use the appliance longer than 72 hours.15
Drying food is an excellent way to preserve it. Hot air with an adjustable temperature circulates on the inside of the appliance, between the trays and the ingredients that you wish to dry. In this way, the loss of vitamins is reduced to a minimum and the ingredients are dried evenly. You can enjoy dried fruits, vegetables, nuts,… - and all of that without any conservatives ! Remark: The drying time as indicated in the above chart is an indication. The drying time depends on the following factors:
- Thickness of the slices or pieces;
- Amount of trays filled with ingredients;
- Amount of ingredients that need to be dried;
- Humidity or steam in your environment;
- Your personal preferences regarding the drying of different kinds of food.16 TIP: For conservation of dried fruits, we advice to use glass jars with metal lids, which you preserve at a dry and dark place at a temperature between 5°C and 20°C. If you notice, during the first week after drying, humidity in the jars, the ingredients are not dried well enough. You should dry them again.
- Remove the plug and let the dehydrator completely cool off before disassembling it.
- Clean the housing of the dehydrator with a damp cloth and dry it.
- Do NOT use sharp or metal objects or stiff washing-up brushes to clean the dehydrator, since this could damage the surfaces.
