SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• Children over 8 years as well as mentally, sensory and physically impaired persons may only use the device if they have been informed in detail about the functions and safety precautions by a supervisor responsible for them beforehand and understand the associated risks.
• To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove any of the covers. This device contains parts that are not accessible to the user.
• The appliance identification is provided on the back of the appliance.
• Do not place vessels filled with liquids, such as vases or watering cans, on the device.
• Do not drop metal objects on this appliance.
• Do not place any heavy objects on the device.
• Only use accessories and add-on parts that have been approved by the manufacturer.
• Pull the plug out of the socket if there is a thunderstorm, a storm or if you are not going to use the device for a long period of time. This way, you can prevent damage.
• Have repairs carried out by qualified specialists only.
• Repair is required if the device has been damaged in any way, i.e. if objects have fallen on it, if it is not working properly or if it has been dropped. Do not try to repair the device yourself. Opening the cover exposes you to the risk of electric shock and other personal injury.
• Do not pull, bend or place heavy objects on the cord.
• Do not touch the plug with wet hands.
• Do not place sources of open fl ames, e.g. burning candles, on the device.
• Never let the pump run empty.
• Never connect the appliance to an AC power supply. It is only designed for operation with direct current.
• Only operate the pump in freshwater ponds at temperatures up to a maximum of 50^ .
• The pump is suitable for operating pond fi lters, waterfalls, fountains or aquarium fi lters.

COMMISSIONING

Before operation

• First, attach a kind of tow rope (nylon line or similar) to the pump with which you can pull it out of the water if necessary.
• Connect the appropriate hoses of your aquarium/pond/jumping fountain etc. to the pump. Make sure that there are no air bubbles in the pipe system.
• Do not place the pump in the dirt/bottom set at the bottom of the water, but in a slightly elevated position.
• Protect the power cable from damage caused by kinks and/or sharp edges when installing it.

Note: Never operate the pump without the filter basket. The filter protects the pump from contamination and blockages caused by sediment, dust and dirt. Do not operate the pump in dry conditions.

Commissioning

1. Connect the pump to the power supply.
2. Adjust the flow rate on the valve.

After operation

In winter, remove the pump from the water and store it in a frost-free environment, if possible in a container filled with water, to protect the O-ring from drying out and. Clean the pump carefully and check for any damage after reassembly.

CLEANING AND CARE

Cleaning the pump

Clean the filter housing and the filter sponge once a month and also when the pump performance reduces. Clean the pump if it is used frequently.

1. Unplug the power cord.
2. Take the fountain set apart.
3. Disassemble the pump casing.
4. Clean the pump and the filter with a soft brush.
5. Remove the dirt from the rotor.

Storage during winter

1. Remove the pump from the water.
2. Check the pump for damage.
3. Store the pump in a frost-free environment, if possible in a container filled with water.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Possible cause	Method of solution
Pump is not working. No power. Connect to power		socket.
Overheating. Allow the appliance to cool down.
Rotor is blocked. Remove blockages.
No water. Add water.
