Frequently Asked Questions - CFR127293 Emerio

How to set the temperature of the freezer?
Turn the thermostat knob to one of positions 1 to 7. The higher the number, the lower the temperature. Position 1 corresponds to about 5°C (refrigeration), positions 2-4 from -12°C to -18°C, positions 4-7 from -18°C to -24°C, and position 7 (quick freeze) below -24°C. After quick freezing, turn the knob to a middle position to save energy.
How to defrost the freezer?
Unplug the appliance and empty it. 6 hours before, set the thermostat to 7 to cool the food as much as possible. Leave the lid open. Open the water drain (inside and outside) and place a tray to collect water. You can accelerate the process by placing containers of hot water inside. Never use metal objects or electrical appliances. Once the ice has melted, dry the interior, replace the plugs and plug the appliance back in.
What to do if the appliance does not cool?
First check the power supply and the thermostat setting. Make sure the ventilation openings are not blocked and that the appliance is installed with sufficient space (50-70 mm behind, 100 mm on the sides). If the problem persists, contact an authorized technician.
How to install the freezer correctly?
Place the appliance in a dry and well-ventilated area, away from heat sources and sunlight. Leave a space of 50-70 mm at the back and 100 mm on the sides. Adjust the feet to level it. After transport, wait 4 hours before plugging in. Plug into a grounded outlet. Make sure the ambient temperature corresponds to the climate class (SN: 10-32°C, N: 16-32°C, ST: 16-38°C, T: 16-43°C).
Can I freeze hot food?
No, it is recommended to let hot food cool to room temperature before placing it in the freezer. Introducing hot food increases energy consumption and may damage the appliance or affect other foods.
What is the freezing capacity?
The freezing capacity is not specified in the manual. For best results, do not exceed the amount recommended by the manufacturer (usually indicated on the label). Avoid overloading the appliance and leave space between foods for cold air circulation.
How to clean the freezer?
Unplug the appliance before cleaning. Clean the interior, accessories and lid seal with warm water and a mild detergent, or a damp microfiber cloth. Do not use steam cleaners, metal brushes or abrasive detergents. Dry thoroughly before plugging back in.
What to do in case of a power failure?
If the outage is short, avoid opening the lid to keep the cold. Frozen food remains frozen for several hours if the appliance is full. In case of a prolonged outage, consume thawed foods quickly. Never refreeze completely thawed foods without cooking them.
Does the freezer make noise?
Yes, some noises are normal: compressor hum, liquid noise (refrigerant circulation), clicking (thermostat), and slight vibrations. If the noise becomes loud or abnormal, check that the appliance is level and that parts are not vibrating against surfaces. See the troubleshooting guide.
How to save energy with my freezer?
Place the appliance away from heat sources. Ensure good ventilation around the appliance. Do not set the temperature lower than necessary. Allow food to cool before storing. Open the lid as briefly as possible. Defrost regularly. Check the seal of the lid gasket.

Respond (be the first)
Can the thermostat of the Emerio CFR127293 freezer be replaced?
Frequently Asked Questions - 08/04/2026
Response Notice-Facile

Yes, it is theoretically possible to replace the thermostat of the Emerio CFR127293 freezer, but this intervention requires technical expertise and the involvement of a qualified professional. The CFR127293 freezer is equipped with an integrated mechanical thermostat (adjustable temperature control knob) that automatically controls the internal temperature and the operation of the compressor.

Thermostat and settings: The thermostat knob has 7 positions (from 1 to 7), where the higher the number, the lower the temperature (position 1 = 5°C in refrigeration mode, position 4-7 = -18°C to -24°C in freezing mode, position 7 = fast freezing mode). It is a component that ensures a constant temperature of -18°C for optimal preservation of frozen products.

Before any intervention: Completely unplug the device from the electrical outlet by pulling on the plug itself (not the cord). This is imperative to avoid any risk of electric shock. Access to the refrigeration circuit is prohibited without qualified training, as the device contains isobutane refrigerant R600a, a flammable substance.

Customer service contact: Emerio strongly recommends contacting their authorized after-sales service for any repairs or replacement of spare parts. The 2-year warranty covers manufacturing defects, but repairs carried out by an unauthorized third party void this warranty. You can reach Emerio's service at +49 3222 1097 615 (Service Hot Line) or directly contact the retailer from whom you purchased the device.

Availability of spare parts: Emerio offers spare parts guaranteed for 2 years. Replacement parts suitable for the CFR127293 model can be ordered from customer service, which will guide you to the most appropriate solution based on the exact condition of the thermostat and your needs.

Important: Do not attempt to replace the thermostat yourself without technical qualification. Defects related to inappropriate interventions or the use of non-original parts are not covered by the warranty. A qualified professional will know how to comply with electrical safety standards and refrigerant specifications.

STARTUP/OPERATION

Prior to first use

Caution:

After transport, the appliance should be left standing upright for four hours before connecting to the power supply. Nonobservance could lead to malfunction of the cooling system and causes an appliance break-down.

Clean the appliance interior including all accessory parts. Consider the instructions which we provide in the chapter "Cleaning and Maintenance".

Starting the appliance

Connect the appliance to the power supply.

Operate the temperature control with the help of the temperature control knob. See also the section "Settings".

Settings

When the compressor is working, the indicator light illuminates.

Marks "1/2/3/4/5/6/7" show the different levels of temperature range. The bigger the number is, the lower the temperature is. The illustration is as follows.

Level "1" (Refrigerator mode): 5 °C;

Level "2-4" (Freezer mode): -12 °C ~ -18 °C;

Level "4-7" (Freezer mode): -18 °C ~ -24 °C;

Level "7" (Fast freezer): below -24 °C.

There is a deviation of 3^ for each mode in different environments due to the mechanical control mode.

Please make fine adjustment according to the conditions of actual use.

When the temperature control knob is set at the fast freezer, the compressor will continuously work without stop, and the food can be quickly frozen.

Caution: Do not keep the temperature control knob stay at the fast freezer after the food has been frozen.

Basically, the temperature will change depending on the ambient temperature, frequency of lid opening and the amount of food in the appliance.

During initial operation, turn the temperature control to the highest setting first, until the appliance has reached the desired operating temperature. Afterwards it is recommended to turn the control back to a medium setting; correcting the temperature at a later point would then be easier.

Note:

In generally a medium power level works best for an optimized food storage. A high power level also increases the energy consumption.

If you need to change freezing or soft freezing status to refrigerating mode, you should take the following steps:

  • Set the temperature control knob to the refrigeration mode.
  • Remove all of the frozen food from the freezing compartment.
  • Keep the compartment empty for one hour, and finally put the required food into it.

Storing food

Note: Recommendation!

To guarantee that the temperature is low enough, you should pre-cool the appliance a few times before initial loading foods.

Caution:

Always pay attention to the storage instructions on the sales packaging.

To avoid contamination of food, respect the following instructions:

  • Opening the lid for long periods can cause a significant increase of the temperature in the compartments of the appliance.
  • Clean regularly surfaces that can come in contact with food and accessible drainage systems (see "Cleaning and Maintenance").
  • Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers in the appliance, so that it is not in contact with or drip onto other food.
If the appliance is out of use for long period, follow the instructions under "Switching off".

Storage space

If necessary, the freezing basket can be removed to optimize the storage space.

Freezing

  • Fresh food should be frozen as fast as possible to the core. During freezing operation, the temperature of fresh food should be lowered as fast as possible to keep formation of ice crystals as little as possible and not to damage the food structure.
If possible, keep a space between the individual items, so that the cold air can circulate.
  • Never exceed this maximum capacity. Do not freeze a too large quantity at any one time.
  • Take special care not to mix already frozen food and fresh food.
The following foods are suitable for freezing: Cakes and pastries, fish and seafood, meat, game, poultry, vegetables, fruit, herbs, eggs without shells, dairy products such as cheese and butter, ready meals and

leftovers such as soups, stews, cooked meat and fish, potato dishes, soufflés and desserts.

The following foods are not suitable for freezing: Types of vegetables, which are usually consumed raw, such as lettuce or radishes, eggs in shells, grapes, whole apples, pears and peaches, hard-boiled eggs, yoghurt, soured milk, sour cream, and mayonnaise.

General safety precautions

  • Do not store bottles or cans. These can break when the contents freeze – or even explode if they contain carbonated drinks.
  • Once products have been defrosted halfway or completely, they should be consumed as soon as possible and should not be frozen again, except they have been processed to a ready meal.
  • Do not eat food that is still frozen. Do not eat ice cream directly from the freezer. The cold can cause injuries in the oral cavity.
  • Touching metal parts inside the unit can cause symptoms like burns if the skin is very sensitive.
  • Never touch frozen food with moist or wet hands.
