How to turn on and set the temperature of the SWKD 100 A1 heating plaid?

Plug the controller into the plaid and then the power plug. Set the desired temperature level on the controller (1 to 6). The operation indicator lights up. To turn off, set to 0.

What temperature levels are available?

The controller offers 6 levels: level 0 (off), level 1 (minimum temperature), levels 2 to 5 (intermediate temperatures), level 6 (maximum temperature).

Is there an automatic shut-off?

Yes, the plaid switches off automatically after approximately 180 minutes (3 hours). The indicator then flashes. To restart, first set to 0, then select the desired level after 5 seconds.

What are the important safety instructions?

Do not use if the plaid is folded, crumpled, or wet. Do not insert sharp objects. Do not cover the controller. Do not use for infants or persons insensitive to heat. Disconnect after use.

Can I use the heating plaid if I have a pacemaker?

Consult your doctor and the pacemaker manufacturer before use. The generated fields are very weak, but as a precaution, medical advice is recommended.

How to clean the heating plaid?

Follow the instructions on the label strictly. Generally, do not dry clean, do not iron, do not bleach. The controller must be removed before any cleaning.

The heating plaid emits an odor during first use, is this normal?

Yes, a slight plastic odor may occur during the first commissioning. It disappears quickly after a few uses.

What to do if the plaid no longer heats up or the indicator does not light up?

Check that the connection is correct and the plug is fully inserted. If the problem persists, do not use the appliance again. Return it to customer service at the indicated address.

Can the heating plaid be used as an underblanket?

No, this plaid is designed only to cover the body, not to be placed under a sheet or as a heated bed cover. Improper use may damage the appliance.

How to store the heating plaid after use?

Let it cool down completely. Roll it up without folding sharply to avoid damaging the wires. Store it flat or rolled, without placing heavy objects on it.

- Intended use

This heated blanket is designed to warm the human body. It must only be used as a cover, not as a pad. The heated blanket is not intended for use in hospitals or for commercial use. In particular it must not be used for babies or infants, persons who are insensitive to heat, helpless persons, or animals. Any use other than that described above or modification of the heated blanket are not permissible and may lead to injury and / or damage to the heated blanket. The manufacturer assumes no liability for damages caused by improper use.

Failure to observe the following instructions can cause personal injury or property damage (electric shock, burns, fire). Observe this safety advice. If you pass the heated blanket on to anyone else, please pass on these operation instructions as well.

This heated blanket may not be used by persons insensitive to heat and other persons in need of protection who do not respond to overheating (e.g. diabetics, persons with skin changes caused by illness or scarred skin areas in the application area, after using analgesics or alcohol). There is a risk of skin burns.

WARNING!

heated blanket may not be used for very young children (0-3 years), as they are unable to react to overheating. There is a risk of skin burns.

The heated blanket may be used by children over 3 years and under 8 years when supervised, if the switch is always set to the lowest temperature level. Otherwise there is a risk of burns.
This heated blanket may be used by older children age 8 and up, and persons with diminished physical, sensory or mental capacities or lacking experience and knowledge when supervised and instructed on the safe use of the heated blanket and understand the associated risks.
Children must be supervised to ensure they do not play with the heated blanket. There is a risk of injury.
Children must not perform clean or maintain the heated blanket without supervision. There is a risk of injury.
The heated blanket is not intended for use in hospitals or for commercial use. This poses a risk of injuries and / or damage to the heated blanket.

This heated blanket may only be operated with the control unit specified on the label. The heated blanket may otherwise be damaged.
The electric and magnetic fields emitted by this heated blanket could possibly interfere with the functionality of your pacemaker. However, the levels are far below the permissible limits: electric field strength: max. 5000V / m , magnetic field strength: max. 80A / m , magnetic flux density: max. 0.1 milli-Tesla. Therefore please consult your physician and the manufacturer of your pacemaker before using this heated blanket.
- Do not pull, twist or kink the cables. The heated blanket may otherwise be damaged.

The cable and the switch of the heated blanket may pose a risk of catching, strangulation,tripping or being stepped on if positioned incorrectly. The user must ensure excess cable and cables in general are positioned safely.
- Frequently check this heated blanket for signs of wear or damage. If signs thereof are detected, the heated blanket was used improperly or will no longer heat up, it must first be inspected by the manufacturer before being switched on again.
If the mains lead to the heated blanket is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service centre, or a similarly qualified person to prevent hazards.
With the heated blanket switched on, never

• place objects on it (e.g. suitcases or clothes baskets),
• place a heating source such as a hot-water bottle, heating pad or similar items on it. The heated blanket may otherwise be damaged.

The electronic components inside the control unit will heat up whilst operating the heated blanket. For this reason, never cover the

control unit or place it on the heated blanket during operation. This poses a risk of injuries and / or damage to the heated blanket.

Always observe the information on start-up, cleaning and care, and storage.

Safety system

Note: The heated blanket features a safety system. The electronic sensor technology prevents the heated blanket from overheating across the entire surface by automatically switching off in the event of a malfunction.

If the safety system switches the heated blanket off automatically as a result of a malfunction, the function display 2 on the control unit 1 will no longer light up, even when the heated blanket is switched on.

Please note that, for safety reasons, the heated blanket must not be used after a fault and must be returned to the service address indicated.
Under no circumstances should you connect the defective heated blanket to another switch of the same type. This would also result in a permanent shutdown by the safety system in the switch.

- Start-up

Note: When the heated blanket is used for the first time, you may notice a smell of plastic; however, this will disappear after a short time.

- Temperature levels

Set the control unit to the desired temperature (see Fig. A).

Level 0: off

To use the heated blanket, first connect the con-level 1: minimum heat trol unit 1 with the heated blanket using the Level 2-5: customised heat plug-in connector 3 (see Fig. B). Level 6: maximum heat

Then insert the mains plug into the socket.

- Switching on/off/ Selecting the temperature

Switching on:

Set the control unit to level 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 to switch on the heated blanket.

Note: The function display 2 will light up after switching the heated blanket on.

Switching off:

Set the control unit to level 0 to switch the heated blanket off.

Note: The function display 2 will go off.

Selecting the temperature:

Set the control unit to the highest temperature setting (setting 6). This will cause the heating blanket to warm up quickly.

WARNING! When operating the heated blanket for several hours, we recommend setting the control unit 1 to the lowest setting to prevent the body from overheating and to prevent potential subsequent skin burns or a heat stroke.

Note: The heated blanket switches itself off automatically after approx. 180 minutes. The function display 2 on the control unit 1 will then start flashing.

To switch the heated blanket back on, first select level 0 and after approx. 5 sec. select the desired temperature level.

If the heated blanket is no longer used after the timer expires:

• switch off the heated blanket (level 0),
• unplug from the socket,
• disconnect the plug-in connector 3, thus the control unit 1 from the heated blanket.

Storage

RISK OF DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT OR PROPERTY! Let the heated blanket cool before putting it away. The heated blanket may otherwise be damaged.
RISK OF DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT OR PROPERTY! To prevent the heated blanket from be- coming sharply creased, do not place other objects on top of the heated blanket when it is stored. These may all damage the heated blanket.

Introduction
