Frequently Asked Questions - dColor P2230 OLIVETTI

How to load paper in the tray?

Pull out the tray, adjust the guides to the paper size, fan the stack and place it in the tray. Make sure the guides touch the paper edges lightly. Close the tray and confirm the paper size on the screen if prompted.

How to connect the printer via Wi-Fi?

You can configure Wi-Fi via the control panel by going to Menu > Wi-Fi Settings and enabling Wi-Fi. Use the quick wizard to search for your network and enter the password. Restart the network after configuration.

How to replace a toner cartridge?

Open the front cover, unlock the lever of the empty cartridge, remove it and insert the new cartridge until it clicks. Close the cover. Make sure to use original Olivetti cartridges to avoid malfunctions.

What to do in case of paper jam?

The screen indicates the jam location. Open the appropriate covers (MF tray, tray, rear cover) and gently remove the jammed paper following the arrows. Do not pull abruptly to avoid tearing the paper.

How to print a document from a USB key?

Insert the USB key into the USB port on the front panel. Go to Menu > USB Memory, select the file to print and choose the settings (copies, paper source). Press OK to start printing.

How to enable automatic duplex printing?

In the print driver on Windows, select the Finishing or Basic Settings tab and choose Duplex. On the machine, go to Menu > Print Settings > Duplex to enable by default.

How to reduce toner consumption?

Use EcoPrint mode: go to Menu > Print Settings > EcoPrint Mode and enable it. You can also adjust the economy level in EcoPrint Level.

How to reset the administrator password?

The default password is 3000. If you have changed it and forgotten, contact Olivetti after-sales service. For security, keep your credentials in a safe place.

How to print a private document?

In the print driver, select Private Printing or Stored in the options. Send the job: it will be saved on the printer. On the machine, go to Menu > Job Box > Private/Stored, select your job and print it.

How to configure automatic sleep?

Go to Menu > Common Device > Timer > Sleep Timer. Enter the desired delay (in minutes) and confirm. By default, the machine goes to sleep after 1 minute of inactivity.

SAFETY OF LASER BEAM (USA)

1. Safety of laser beam

This machine has been certified by the manufacturer to Class 1 level under the radiation performance standards established by the U.S.DHHS (Department of Health and Human Services) in 1968. This indicates that the product is safe to use during normal operation and maintenance. The laser optical system, enclosed in a protective housing and sealed within the external covers, never permits the laser beam to escape.

2. The CDRH Act

A laser-product-related act was implemented on Aug. 2, 1976, by the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This act prohibits the sale of laser products in the U.S. without certification, and applies to laser products manufactured after Aug. 1, 1976. The label shown below indicates compliance with the CDRH regulations and must be attached to laser products marketed in the United States. On this machine, the label is on the rear.

4. Maintenance

For safety of the service personnel, follow the maintenance instructions in the other section of this manual.

5. Safety switch

The power to the laser unit is cut off when the front cover is opened.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules.
