Frequently Asked Questions - U339E02 Tripp Lite

What types of hard drives are compatible with the U339E02 docking station?
The docking station accepts SATA I, II, and III hard drives in 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch form factors. The maximum supported capacity is 2TB for 2.5" drives and 14TB for 3.5" drives.
How do I use the offline erasing function?
Disconnect the USB cable, plug in the power, insert the drives, turn on the station, then press and hold the Erase button until the blue LEDs blink. Erasing is complete when all four blue LEDs are solid.
Why are my drives not detected by the computer?
Check that the drives are properly inserted and that the power is connected. If the drive is not formatted, use your system's disk management utility to format it before use.
What is the UASP protocol and how do I enable it?
UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) allows faster transfers than standard USB 3.0. It is natively supported by Windows 8+, Mac OS X 10.8+, and Linux, and requires a compatible host controller. No manual activation is needed.
Can I use the docking station with a computer without a USB 3.0 port?
Yes, the docking station is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1, but speeds will be limited to those standards (480 Mbps max for USB 2.0).
How do I know if the offline erasing is in progress?
The blue progress LEDs (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) blink during erasing. Once they are all solid, the process is complete.
What should I do if the power LED does not light up?
Check that the power adapter is properly connected to the station and to a working electrical outlet. Make sure the ON/OFF switch on the back is in the ON position.
Can I erase two drives simultaneously?
Yes, the docking station can erase up to two SATA drives at the same time using the offline erasing function. The two drives are handled independently.
What is the warranty of the U339E02 docking station?
Tripp Lite offers a one-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the original purchase date.
How do I clean and maintain the docking station?
Unplug the device before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use chemicals or abrasives. Avoid exposure to moisture and dust.
