Why does boiled water taste like plastic?

During the first few uses, it is normal for the water to have a slight plastic taste. Discard the water from the first 2 or 3 boils and rinse the kettle and filter separately.

The kettle does not turn on or stops before boiling, what should I do?

Check that the kettle is properly plugged in. If it has run dry or limescale has built up, the overheat safety feature has been triggered: let it cool for 15 minutes, fill with water and restart.

How to descale the kettle?

Use white vinegar at 8% acidity (fill the kettle with 1/2 liter, let it sit for 1 hour cold) or citric acid (25g in 1/2 liter of boiling water, let it sit for 15 minutes). Rinse 5 to 6 times afterwards.

How to clean the anti-limescale filter?

Remove the removable filter (let it cool down). If it is wet, rinse under water; if dry, gently brush it. For a thorough descaling, soak it in white vinegar or diluted citric acid.

What is the maximum water capacity?

Do not fill above the maximum level indicated on the kettle, usually 1.7 liters, and not below the minimum level.

Can I heat something other than water?

No, the kettle is designed only for heating drinking water. Never put milk, soup, or other liquids.

The kettle is leaking, what should I do?

If the kettle has visible leaks, stop using it and contact an authorized after-sales service. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.

What is the warranty of the appliance?

The warranty covers manufacturing defects and domestic use only. Damage due to lack of descaling or non-compliant use is not covered.

Can I immerse the kettle in water to clean it?

No, never immerse the kettle, base, cord or plug in water. Clean the outside with a damp cloth after unplugging and cooling down.

The power cord is too short, what can I do?

BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

1. Remove all of the various packaging, stickers or accessories from both the inside and outside of the kettle.
2. Adjust the length of the cord by winding it under the base. Wedge the cord into the notch. (fig 1)

Throw away the water from the first two/three uses as it may contain dust. Rinse the kettle and the filter separately. USE

1. FILL THE KETTLE WITH THE DESIRED AMOUNT OF WATER. (fig 6)
2. Never fill the kettle when it is on its base.
3. Do not fill it above the maximum level, or below the minimum level. If the kettle is too full, boiling water may spill out.
   Do not use without water.
4. Check that the lid is closed properly before use.
5. POSITION THE KETTLE ON ITS BASE. PLUG IT INTO THE MAINS SOCKET.

3. FOR KETTLES THAT FEATURE A TEMPERATURE SWITCH

Select the temperature according to your needs:

Position for boiling water or position

temperature for drinking immediately. (fig 7)

4. TO START THE KETTLE

Press the on/off button positioned on the top or the bottom of the handle according to the model. (fig 8)

5. FOR KETTLES THAT FEATURE A TEMPERATURE SWITCH

if you move quickly from position to position after heating the water, the kettle has to reinitialise. If you think that this is taking a long time, you can add cold water to speed up the start of heating.

6. THE KETTLE MAY HAVE AN INTERNAL LIGHT, DEPENDING ON MODEL

7. THE KETTLE WILL SWITCH OFF AUTOMATICALLY

as soon as the water reaches boiling point or the chosen temperature. You can stop it manually, before removing it from its base to pour the water. Depending on the model, the interior light and the indicator light will go out when the water reaches boiling point. Make sure that the on/off button is in the off position after boiling and that the kettle has switched off before removing it from its base.

• Do not leave water in the kettle after use as this quickens the formation of scale.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

CLEANING YOUR KETTLE

Unplug it.

Let it cool down and clean it with a damp sponge.

• Never immerse the kettle, its base, the cord or the electric plug in water: the electrical connections or the switch must not come into contact with water.
• Do not use scouring pads.

CLEANING THE FILTER (ACCORDING TO THE MODEL) (fig 9)

The removable filter consists of a mesh to retain the particles of scale and prevent them falling into your cup when pouring. This filter neither treats nor removes the hardness of the water. It thus conserves all the qualities of the water. With very hard water, the filter can clog very quickly (10 to 15 uses). It is important to clean it regularly. If it is wet, put it under a running tap, if dry, then brush it gently. Sometimes the scale will not detach itself; it will then need descending.

DE-SCALING

De-scale regularly, preferably at least once a month or more frequently if your water is very hard.

• Using white vinegar: Fill the kettle with 12 of vinegar. Leave to stand for 1 hour without heating.
• Using citric acid: Boil 12 of water. Add 25 g of citric acid and leave to stand for 15 min.
• Using a de-scaler specifically for plastic kettles: follow the manufacturer's instructions.
• Empty your kettle and rinse 5 or 6 times. Repeat if necessary.

To de-scale your filter (according to model):

Soak the filter in white vinegar or diluted citric acid.
- Never use a de-scaling method other than that recommended.

IN THE EVENT OF PROBLEMS

THERE IS NO EVIDENT DAMAGE TO YOUR KETTLE

• The kettle does not work or stops before coming to the boil

• Check that your kettle is properly connected.

• The kettle has been switched on without water or an accumulation of scale has caused the overheat cut-out to operate: allow the kettle to cool and fill it with water. Descale first if scale has accumulated.

Switch it on: the kettle should start working again after about 15 minutes.

If an accident does occur, run cold water over the scald immediately and call a doctor if necessary.
