12. Sliders to fix the carriage holder

Congratulations! You have just bought a high-quality appliance, which will guarantee you years of pleasure. Please read the instruction manual carefully before you take the appliance into use. Save these instructions carefully! All persons who have not read the instruction manual are not allowed to use this appliance. Pay attention to the guarantee conditions

1. SAFETY PRESCRIPTIONS

This appliance has been built in accordance with the European CE safety standards and is compliant with the general recognized standards and prescriptions with regard to the safety of appliances. As for all electrical appliances, the necessary precautions need to be taken in order to avoid accidents or damages.

  • This appliance shall not be used by children from 0 year to 8 years. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they are continuously supervised. This appliance can be used by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children.
  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and not applications such as: - staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other operating environments; - farm houses; - by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; - bed and breakfast type environments.
  • This appliance is intended to be used at room temperature. NEVER use the appliance outdoor.
  • NEVER immerse the appliance, the power cord or the plug in water or any other liquid. They are only to be cleaned with a damp cloth.
  • A damaged power cord can cause electric shocks. NEVER use the appliance if it is damaged, fallen or shows a malfunction, or if the power cord or plug are damaged. In all these cases return the appliance to your sales point or authorized after sales service.
  • ALWAYS immediately remove the plug from the socket after use. Also, do so when the appliance is not in use, before cleaning and before moving.12
  • NEVER touch the operation buttons, the electrical cord or the plug with wet hands, and NEVER immerse them in water or any other liquid. They are only to be cleaned with a damp cloth. Should they get wet anyway, immediately pull out the plug from the socket.
  • NEVER use separate timers or remote-control systems.
  • The appliance is meant for cutting fruit, vegetables, bread, cheese, meat and NOT for hard substances such as wood, bones, cans…
  • Do not use the slicer for 10 minutes nonstop. Let the motor cool down at least as long before putting away.
  • NEVER place the power supply cord near heat sources such as cookers, heatings or ovens.
  • Always place the appliance on a solid and flat base, such as a kitchen counter or table, so that the appliance won’t move or turn over.
  • If the appliance should fall into water when plugged in, first remove the plug from the socket before you remove the appliance from the water. Then bring the appliance to an authorized after sales service.
  • NEVER use extension cords or sockets. Place the appliance near a power point and connect it directly. ALWAYS complete unroll the power cord.
  • NEVER let the cord hang over the edge of the table or the counter.
  • NEVER take the appliance by the cord. NEVER bend or squeeze the electrical cord or turn it round the appliance or on sharp edges.
  • NEVER touch the knife or any other moving parts with your hands.
  • Only use the appliance on the mains voltage as indicated on the identification label.
  • This appliance is only suited for indoor household use, and not for professional use.
  • Only use original accessories.

2. BEFORE THE FIRST USE

  • Remove all packaging and stickers.
  • Keep packaging away from children.
  • First check your appliances for possible damages. If it is damaged, do NOT use the appliance but bring it back to your sales point.
  • Clean the appliance as described under ‘Cleaning’ before the first use.
  • The appliance is now ready for use.
  • Check that the mains voltage of the appliance is the same as the mains voltage in your home.

3. USE AND OPERATION

  • Fold down the base. Fix with the sliders on both sides of the appliance.
  • Put the carriage and the rest holder in place. With the control button you can set the desired cutting thickness (in mm).
  • Place the synthetic collecting plate under the slicer. Use the carriage to press the food against the stop plate.
  • Switch on the appliance by pressing the On/Off switch. Position I for continuous use ant position II for interrupted use. Gently and smoothly push the carriage forward and against the rotating knife, do not push too hard, let the knife work.
  • Always use the rest holder for your own safety. TIP: Moist the knife with a cloth before slicing cheese.13
  • Before cleaning or before removing the knife, unplug the slicer and place the stop plate in the initial position (0).
  • Release the carriage holder by means of the sliders on both sides of the appliance.
  • Clean the appliance with a damp cloth and dry with a dry cloth. Avoid using aggressive detergents.
  • NEVER immerse the electrical part in water or any other fluids.
  • In order to remove the knife, take the grip on the knife and turn right (+/- 90°), then remove the knife. CAREFUL, the knife is sharp! Clean the knife with a brush. We recommend cleaning the area behind the knife every now and then with a damp cloth. Replace the knife and turn the grip to the left. TIP: don’t remove the Vaseline and add regularly to ensure smooth running of the metal parts.
  • The accessories (carriage, rest holder, collecting plate) need to be cleaned in warm soapy water (NOT in the dishwasher).
  • To store the appliance: turn the control button for the slicing thickness to 0, remove the rest holder and the carriage and shut the base.

Do not use the appliance in case of a malfunction of when the power cord is damaged. Please address to your sales point. THE APPLIANCE HAS BEEN DESIGNED FOR DOMESTIC USE. THE GUARANTEE CONDITIONS EXPIRE UPON PROFESSIONAL USE. DEFECTS AND/OF DAMAGES FOLLOWING TO THE NON OBSERVANCE OF THE USER MANUAL ARE NOT COVERED BY THE GUARANTEE. We are entitled to make technical modifications at all times.

6. GUARANTEE CONDITIONS

Your guarantee starts on the day of purchase and is valid for 2 years and will only apply after submitting your purchase invoice. The guarantee expires automatically and immediately if the appliance is used otherwise than for household use (f.ex. professionally). Determination of guarantee:

  • The guarantee covers every repair and/or replacement free of charge of the parts recognized defective by our Department of Service after Sale if the damage is due to faulty design, material or construction.
  • The guarantee is only valid for the first/original user.
  • The transport costs are at the expenses of the purchaser.
  • The guarantee is only granted after presentation of your purchase invoice.
  • The warranty cannot be invoked for normal wear and tear. The guarantee expires automatically in the following cases:
  • Incorrect connection, e.g. electric voltages.
  • Abnormal or professional use or misuse handling
  • Lack of care and cleaning
  • Modifications or repairs made to the appliance by persons not authorized by us as a manufacturer.
  • When reference numbers have been altered or been removed.
  • When not respecting the instructions in the user instructions14

Do not throw the appliance away with the normal household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in at an official collection point for recycling. By doing this you will help to preserve the environment.

All liabilities, as well towards the user(s) as to all third parties, that could result from the non-observance of all safety prescriptions mentioned in this user manual, can under no circumstance be charged to the manufacturer. In case of non-observance of these safety prescriptions, the user of the appliance, or any other person not having respected these safety prescriptions, indemnifies the manufacturer for all liabilities that could be charged to the manufacturer consequently.15
