Frequently Asked Questions - PDVD6990 Proscan

The remote control does not respond, what to do?
Check that the player is plugged in and turned on. Insert the batteries correctly, respecting polarity. Point the remote at the IR sensor on the front panel. If the problem persists, replace the batteries with new ones.
There is no image on the screen, how to solve?
Check the HDMI or video connections. Make sure the TV is on the correct input. If using an HDMI cable, check that it is not defective. Press the Resolution button on the remote several times to restore the display.
No sound with HDMI connection, why?
The connected device must be HDCP compatible. Check the audio settings of the player (Menu > Settings > Audio > HDMI). Ensure the HDMI cable is properly connected and not damaged.

Cannot play files from a USB drive, how to do?
First stop playback of a DVD disc if it is in progress. Insert the USB drive into the port, then press Media Center to access the menu. Use the directional keys to select the file and press Enter.

  3. IR Sensor: Point the remote control at the IR sensor
  4. Open or close the disc compartment
  5. Start (resume) / pause play

Remote Control

(1) Turn on the player or switch it to standby mode.
(2) RED/PROG: Edit the program and play.
(3) GREEN/MARK: Press this button once to set Bookmark at a specified point of a movie. To select the set point you want to jump to, press and hold BOOKMARK button for 3 seconds.
(4) NUMBERS: For direct channel access.
(5) CLEAR: To clear an entry.
(6) FAST REVERSE: Search backward.
(7) FAST FORWARD: Search forward.
(8) OSC: To access On Screen Control Menu.
(9) PLAY/ PAUSE: Start (resume) / pause play.
(10) TOP MENU: To open the Top menu of BD/DVD video disc.
(11) UP: Navigates through the Menu.
(12) LEFT: Navigates through the Menus.

(28) TITLE: To open the Title menu of a disc.

Basic Operations

Turn On

Press to turn on the Blu-ray disc player

Turn on the TV and switch to the correct video input (refer to the TV user manual)

Setup Menu

Press SETUP to display the setup menu on the TV screen

When a menu is displayed, press the Navigation Keys on the remote control to navigate through it

Select Menu Display Language

  1. Select General Settings in SETUP Menu
  2. Press Up/Down buttons to select Language
  3. Press Right button to select OSD and press Right button again to enter the select menu, then you can select the language you want
  4. Press ENTER to confirm

Play a Disc

  1. Press open the disc compartment
  2. Insert a disc with the label facing up
  3. Press to close the disc compartment and start disc play
  4. To stop disc play, press

USB Play

  1. Insert the USB device into the USB port.
  2. Press the Media Center button on the remote control to open the Media Center menu.
  3. Use the directional buttons to select the file you want to play, and then press the ENTER button to play.

Note:

If you want to change to USB media mode, please stop playing DVD disc. Or else it can't enter to USB media mode.

Clean Discs

Wipe the disc with a Micro fiber Cleaning Cloth from the centre to the edge in a straight line movement

Caution

Never use solvents such as benzene, thinner, cleaners available commercially, or anti-static sprays intended for discs to clean the player

Setup Menu

Basic Operation for the Menu

  1. Press twice during playback
  2. Press SETUP, the SETUP MENU display on the screen.
  3. Select a main menu by /
  4. Select the menu you want by / buttons and press to enter.
  5. Select the option by / and press

You can press to return to the previous menu.

  1. Select by / buttons and press OK to confirm.
    You can press to return to the previous menu.
  2. To return to the main menu from any submenu, press RETURN.
  3. To exit the menu, press SETUP.

General Player Settings

System

  1. Screen Saver: Turns the screen saver on/off. The screen saver will display in 3 mins if there is no operation when the unit is turned on
  2. Disc Auto Playback: Turns the disc auto playback function on/off
  3. Disc Auto Upgrade: Turns the Disc Auto Upgrade function on/off
  4. Load Default: Return the player to its default settings
  5. Upgrade: select this when you want to upgrade your player software to the latest version
  6. BUDA: Define memory for BD-J
  7. Copy Right: show copy right page

  8. Notice: BUDA Setup has two-submenu of "External" & "On board". If you choose "External", you must inserted USB to this product first

Language

  1. OSD: Selects the OSD language
  2. Menu: Selects the menu language of the disc
  3. Audio: Selects the audio language for the program
  4. Subtitle: Selects the subtitle language for the program

You have to select the audio and subtitle language according to the requirements on the disc

  1. Closed Caption: Turn on/off the CC function
  2. Angle Mark: Turn on/off the Angle mark function
  3. PIP Mark: Turn on/off the PIP mark function
  4. Secondary Audio Mark: Turn on/off Secondary Audio mark function
  5. Last Memory: Turn on/off the last memory function
  6. PBC: Turn the PBC function on/off
  7. Audio Watermark Level 3: Function reserved.

  1. Change Password: Changes the password for parental control menu
  2. Parental Control: to set the parental control
  3. Country Code: Select the Country code

90 day Warranty

This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of original delivery to the consumer. During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of this product or component found to be defective, at our option; however, you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the product to us.
