STEAM - THE NEW WAY TO CLEAN
Cleaning is not one of the most enjoyable tasks and today there are numerous appliances that can ease cleaning, especially tough soils The steam cleaners are examples of these new modem systems and they render traditional rags, sponges, chemicals and mops & buckets obsolete.
The unit uses steam and exploits its power to guarantee easier cleaning of any task. It is very versatile and extremely easy to use. Once you try it, you will never clean without it.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
The following safety precautions must be observed:
Note: FILL THE CHAMBER WITH TAP WATER ONLY.
- Never open the safety lock when the appliance is under pressure.
- Only connect the appliance to alternating current with the same voltage as shown on the models nameplate.
Never use the unit appliance if:

The appliance, its cord, or plug are damaged.
-
The body is visibly damaged.
-
The cord or the steam hose are damaged.
-
The appliance has been damaged or you suspect that it is not working properly.

The appliance is no longer tight.

Only use three-pole grounded extension cords that are rated for the appropriate amperage.

When in use, the appliance can reach high temperatures and there is the risk of burning yourself or others. Always be aware of your surroundings and in which direction the steam wands or tools are facing while the steam is in use.
Never: Point the steam in the direction of another person or pets
- Always disconnect the machine (unplug):
- Before filling or emptying the water tank.
- When the appliance is not in use, even for short periods.
- When cleaning or servicing.
- Before leaving the room even for short periods.
- Never unplug by pulling on the cord or unplug when your hands are wet.
- Never move the appliance by pulling or lifting the cord or hose.
- Never allow the cord or hose to rub against sharp corners or let it get caught on obstacles.
- Protect the cord from heat sources, steam and oil.
- Always check that the cord and hose are in good condition.
- Never leave the appliance unattended while on.
- Keep out of the reach of young children.
- Do not allow children to operate this appliance.
- Always have the appliance repaired by technicians using only original equipment.
- Never place the appliance in the rain or in areas in proximity to standing water.
- Wipe down with a damp towel to clean the unit, never with running water or steam.
- Store it in a dry place.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
- Do not use this appliance in volatile areas or areas with dangers of explosion or combustible atmospheres.
- Do not use the appliance within walking distance of toxic substances.
- Do not use the appliance on heat sensitive surfaces or objects.
- Do not expose the appliance to outdoor weather conditions.
- Do not place the appliance near open flame, electric heaters or near heat sources.
- Electric devices such as televisions, radios, lamps, etc. should not be cleaned with steam, even when they are not connected to electricity.
- Do not allow children to operate this appliance.
- Do not press the buttons with excessive force and avoid using sharp objects to activate switches or buttons.
- Always place the appliance on level and stable ground.
- If the appliance is dropped and/or damaged, do not use it and contact service department.
- In case of damage turn off the appliance.
- Never attempt repairs by yourself. Contact Goodway Technologies. During repairs use only genuine factory parts.
- Do not direct the steam jet in or towards electrical appliances.
- Before cleaning the appliance always remove the plug from the socket.
- Always wait the appliance to cool down before storing.
- Please empty the water tank if the appliance is not used more than three weeks.
- This appliance is available with several safety systems that can be changed only by the service department.
- Never place your hand or other body parts in front of the steam jet.
- Never fill this appliance with detergents or use any other additives/chemicals in the tank. Use only tap water.
- This appliance is not suitable for use by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental disabilities or who have no experience or knowledge of the use of the device.
- This machine cannot be used for more than 3 hours continuously.
- Not for space heating purposes.

SETTING UP
HOW TO FILL THE TANK WITH WATER
- Place the appliance on a flat surface.
- Unscrew the safety cap (Fig.4).
- Fill in the boiler with water using the water bottle (Fig.5).
NOTE: The boiler holds 2 liters.
ATTENTION: Only fill the boiler with tap water. Never add detergents or other chemical additives. The "safety cap valve" has a special self-locking device that cannot be opened when the appliance is under pressure.

HOW TO CONNECT
• Completely unwind the power cord.
- Plug into grounded outlet. (Fig.6)
ATTENTION: This machine cannot be used for more than 3 hours continuously.

- Press the main switch (A). The switch will light on the main when the appliance is switch On.
- Wait for the light (B) to come On. The green light indicates that the working pressure has reached the maximum level.

STEAM HOSE WITH GRLP (FIG. 8)
- Switch off the switch (F, G) on the steam wand to adjust the quantity of the steam required.
• To enable the steam to pull the trigger on the handle flexible. - Lift the socket Cover on the steam cleaner.
- Insert the plug (H) in the socket on the appliance, (Fig.9).
- Check that the plug (H) is correctly inserted (pull) (Fig.9).

(fitting directly onto the flexible grip or onto the tubes (Fig. 10) Insert the accessory into the handle or onto the tubes making sure that the locking tab is correctly inserted in the corresponding groove.
ROUND BRUSH (Fig.11) (fitting on the steam nozzle)
• Fit the brush onto the steam nozzle.
CLEANING BRUSHES
(Fig.12)
- Move the catch (K) on the brush to the midway position "unlock".
- Slide the brush onto the universal joint (curved).
- Move the catch (K) to the left, in the "unlock" position, or to the right, in the "lock" position.

EXTENSIONS & TOOLS
Insert the accessory into the handle or onto the tubes making sure that the locking tab is correctly inserted in the corresponding groove.

APPLICATIONS
The APX390 is great for cleaning without the need for harsh chemical or detergents. It's ideal for cleaning:
- Joints, corners and other areas that are difficult to access.
- Tiled floors and walls.
- Windows, mirrors, glass doors and other glass surfaces.
• Stains on carpets, upholstery and clothing. - Kitchens and baths (faucets, sinks baths etc).
- Kitchen surfaces such as stoves, counter tops.
- Around the home: blinds, shutters, window sills.
• Outdoor garden furniture and tools.
• Cars (windows, hub caps, chrome Parts, etc.).
Many other applications.
ATTENTION: Never use the steam cleaner on electrical appliances and fittings.
CLEANING WITH THE STEAM NOZZLE (Fig. 13)
The steam nozzle is for cleaning those areas that are difficult to access. To remove dirt from corners, joints, cracks, and gaps by steam, follow these steps:
- Press the steam pushbutton (position 2-3).
- loosen the dirt with the steam jet.
- Remove the dirt with an absorbent cloth.
NOTE: To eliminate heavy soils, we recommend using the round brush on the steam nozzle.
▲ATTENTION:The steam coming from the nozzle has a temperature of approx 266°F To clean heat-sensitive materials, hold the steam nozzle at a minimum distance of (4-6 inches) from the object.

PROCEDURE
- Put a clean absorbent cloth on the large rectangular brush.
- Press the steam push buttons (position 1-2).
- Clean the floor without pressing hard. To clean very dirty floors and to remove stains, use the brush without the cloth.
- No need to rub hard: the steam is enough to loosen the dirt.
- Place a cloth on the brush and remove the dirt.
NOTE: Regularly remove the cloth on the brush so that a clean part of the cloth is always used.
ATTENTION: Take special care when cleaning heat-sensitive materials***
***Parquet flooring cannot be cleaned with steam.
CLEANING WINDOWS
TO CLEAN GLASS SURFACES, USE THE SPECIAL WINDOW CLEANING
ATTACHMENT AS FOLLOWS:
- Press the steam switches (position 1-2).
- Gently place the window cleaner on the glass surface.
- Remove difficult dirt by using the grooved rubber surface on the window cleaner.
- Switch off the steam switch.
- Remove the dirty water with the soft rubber part of the window cleaner. Dry any remaining water with an absorbent cloth.
▲ ATTENTION: During the winter, you will need to pre-heat the windows before cleaning. To do so, pass the window cleaner over the window, holding it at a distance of approx. 10 cm.
CLEANING CARPETS
TO ELIMINATE STAINS:
- Use the steam nozzle.
- Direct a jet of steam (position 1-2) across the surface and hold over the stains.
- Place a cloth next to the stain and gather the dirt as this is removed.
NOTE: Immediately treat fresh stains with cold water. Attention! Stains containing egg whites can become fixed to the material due to the effect of the steam. Cleaning the carpet in the entire room.
• Fix a cotton cloth around the brush.
- Press the steam switch (position 1-2).
- Slowly move the brush crossways without pressing down.
- Regularly move the cloth on the brush so that a clean part of the cloth is always used.
▲ ATTENTION: Adjust the power of the steam to position 1 when cleaning delicate fabrics: Before cleaning, check the carpets color resistance by directing a jet of steam on a hidden corner. Take special care when cleaning velvets.
REFILLING THE WATER TANK DURING OPERATION
An indicator light will tell you when there is no more water in the cleaner (E-fig.2) If this happens the boiler stops heating automatically.
WHAT TO DO
- Switch off the boiler heating switch.
- Continue working to use up any remaining steam in the boiler. If this is not done, you will not be able to open the self-locking filler cap.
- Switch off the main switch.
- Remove the plug from a socket.
- With a towel to protect your hand carefully unscrew the self-locking cap and let any remaining steam escape.
- Remove the safety cap.
- Fill the tank with water as described in section "Setting up/How to fill the boiler" (page-9).
- Re-connect the appliance and start up as described in section "How to start up" (page-10).
MAINTENANCE
DESCALING (Fig. 14) (every 3-4 weeks)
ATTENTION: Never descale the appliance when still warm.
- Unplug.
- Fill the tank with tap water. Do not add anything other than simple tap water.
- Hold the appliance upright and shake thoroughly to loosen any scale in the boiler chamber.

- Open the drain at the bottom of the boiler (14) using the key on the safety cap.
• Collect the water coming from the boiler.
- Rinse the repeatedly with tap water (ONLY TAP WATER) until there are no further traces of scaling.
- Close the drain at the bottom of the boiler (14).
CLEANING THE APPLIANCE
Clean the appliance and accessories with a damp cloth. Never use steam or immerse in water.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- When you start up the appliance, condensation can occur in the cold accessories.
- Before cleaning, adjust the steam in position 2-3 and depress the trigger for a few seconds to drain any condensed steam that may be in the hose.
- Never use the appliance to clean materials that are not heat-resistant.
- Never leave the steam switch in position 3 for long usage. Position 2 is the standard setting, it is sufficient for most tasks and consumes less energy.
- If the soiled area is difficult to clean, it will require more time and more cloths during the cleaning process.
AFTER CLEANING
• Always switch off the heating switch.
- Let all the steam escape: the safety/refiller cap will not open otherwise.
- Switch the main switch off.
- Unplug from the outlet.
- Before storing, let the unit cool down completely.
- If you do not intend to use the appliance for 2 weeks, drain any remaining water in the unit as described in the "Descaling" instructions above.
