Children under 8 years of age must not install or operate the appliance, until they are supervised.
Place the appliance and cable away from the edge of the table. Do not let the cable hang over the edge of the table or work surface.
The excess cable can be wound around the base of the appliance.
Place the cable, plug, and base away from hot surfaces.
Do not use the appliance if the cable, plug, base, or kettle is damaged.
If the supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Do not immerse the appliance or base in water or other liquids. The kettle is intended solely for boiling water. Do not use it for heating soups or other liquids or for food in jars or cans.
Boiled water can cause severe burns. Be careful: the kettle contains boiling water.
Never overfill the kettle above the maximum level mark.
If the kettle is overfilled, the water may spill out of the spout and cause burns.
Do not open the lid while the water is boiling. Be careful when opening the lid immediately after boiling: the steam escaping from the kettle is very hot.
Avoid touching the upper part of the kettle, as it becomes very hot during operation.
Always carry the kettle by the handle.
Always check that the water covers the heating element of the kettle, to prevent the kettle from boiling dry. Condensation may appear on the heating element. This is completely normal and does not indicate that the kettle is defective.
Depending on how hard the water is in your area, small deposits may appear on the heating element when using the kettle. Over time, these deposits build up as a result of the natural limescale in the water and the inside of the kettle. The harder the water, the faster limescale builds up. Limescale can be of different colors. Although limescale is harmless, excessive limescale can affect the operation of the kettle. Regularly remove limescale from the kettle, following the instructions in the section "Removing limescale".
Electromagnetic fields (EMF)
This device complies with the electromagnetic field (EMF) standards.
According to current scientific knowledge, the device is safe for use if handled correctly and in accordance with the instructions in this user manual.
This appliance is marked in accordance with the European Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
The directive provides a framework for the return and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment, valid throughout the European Union.
Protection against idling.
This kettle is equipped with protection against idling. With this feature, the kettle automatically switches off if it is accidentally switched on without water or with insufficient water. The "ON/OFF" switch remains in the "ON" position, but the indicator light for "ON" goes out. Turn the "ON/OFF" switch to the "OFF" position and let the kettle cool down for 10 minutes. Then, lift the kettle from the base to reset the protection against idling. Now, the kettle is ready for reuse.
Before first use
1. While the base and the kettle are still on the packaging, remove the packaging. 2. Place the base on a dry, stable, and flat surface. 3. Fill the kettle with water. 4. Fill the kettle with water up to the maximum level and let it boil once (see "Use of the appliance"). 5. Pour out the boiled water and rinse the kettle once more.

Cleaning and descaling
Before cleaning, unplug the appliance from the socket.
Do not use abrasive agents or acids to clean the kettle.
Never immerse the kettle and its base in water.
Cleaning the filter.
The filter is not intended for your health, but it can also affect the taste. The filter prevents limescale particles that it retains from the water and does not allow the particles to get into the drink. Regularly clean the filter against limescale.
You can clean the filter against limescale in the following way:
- 1. Remove the filter from the kettle. 2. Clean the mesh with a brush under running water.
- Carefully clean the filter with a cloth that is not too wet. When you remove the limescale from the kettle (see "Removing limescale from the kettle"), you can leave the filter in the kettle. You can also take the filter out of the kettle and wash it in the dishwasher.
- After you have cleaned the filter under running water or in the dishwasher, put it back in its place in the kettle.
Removing limescale from the kettle
The residue should be removed from the bottle by rinsing it with water until the bottle is completely clean. Under normal use (about 5 times daily), it is recommended to clean the bottle at the following intervals:
- Once every 3 months with soft water (up to 18 °dH).
- Once every 3 months with hard water (above 18 °dH).
- Fill the bottle with water up to three quarters of the maximum level and close it, then shake the water for a while.
- When the appliance is switched off, fill it with white vinegar (8% acetic acid) up to the maximum level.
- Leave the solution in the bottle overnight.
- Empty the bottle and thoroughly rinse its interior.
- Fill the bottle with clean water and close it.
- Empty the bottle and rinse it again with clean water.
If there is still residue in the bottle, repeat the procedure. You can also use a suitable descaling agent. In that case, follow the instructions on the packaging of the descaling agent.

Avoid touching the body of the kettle, as it gets very hot during use.
Always lift the kettle by its handle.
Always make sure the water in the kettle at least covers the bottom of the kettle to prevent the kettle from boiling dry.
Some condensation may appear on the base of the kettle. This is perfectly normal and does not mean that the kettle has any defects.
Depending on the hardness of the water in your area, small spots may appear on the heating element of your kettle when you use it. This phenomenon is the result of scale build-up on the heating element and on the inside of the kettle over time. The harder the water, the faster scale will build up. Scale can occur in different colours. Although scale is harmless, too much scale can influence the performance of your kettle. Descale your kettle regularly by following the instructions given in the chapter 'Descaling'.
