WELCOME ABOARD! 1. INPUT JackThis, believe it or not, is where you plug your guitar intothe amp! Make sure you use a good quality guitar cableto do this.2. GAIN ControlThis adjusts the overall preamp gain of the amplifier. Thiscontrol can produce a wide variety of killer tones - fromclean to crunchy to crazy and all points in-between! Whatyou get all depends on how you dial this control in andalso how you have the Clean/Overdrive Switch (3) set. Inboth Switch modes - Clean & Overdrive - turning theGain control down (i.e. counter clockwise) will clean upyour sound while cranking it up (i.e. turning it clockwise)will dirty things up. The possibilities are endless I tell ya!3. CLEAN/OVERDRIVE SwitchAs its name suggests, this switch puts the preamp of yourPathfinder 10 in one of two distinctly different modes -Clean (switch “out”) or Overdrive (switch “in”). And, asyou'd expect, the Overdrive mode has bags more gain(read: ability to distort in a rocking way!) than the Cleanmode. So, if you want more gain just press this sucker inand let rip!4. TREBLE ControlThis adjusts the treble (high) frequencies in your tone. Itcan take your sound from soft and round, to bright andcutting, and any point in-between.5. BASS ControlThis adjusts the bass (low) frequencies in your tone. Itcan take your sound from warm and light, to dark andheavy and any point in-between.6. VOLUME ControlAmazingly enough, this one determines the overallvolume of the amplifier - hence its name! Setting thiscontrol high while keeping the Gain low works well forclean sounds (HINT: make sure the Clean/OverdriveSwitch is “out” if you wanna go clean!), while setting theMaster Volume lower, engaging the Overdrive mode andturning up the Gain will give you a fat, distorted sound ata lower, “bedroom friendly” volume.7. HEADPHONE/LINE OUT JackThis dual output carries a specially filtered signal for usewith either headphones or for direct connection to asoundboard or recording console. The LINE OUT givesyou a good sounding signal for recording or live workwithout having to mic up the amp.IMPORTANT NOTE: Connecting the headphoneshere mutes the internal speaker...making thisfacility perfect for late night, “silent” practice!
