Wipe the motor unit clean with a soft, slightly moist towel. The motor unit must not be held under running water or submerged in water resp. come into contact with another liquid. Storage base for motor unit103102 GB GB Inserting the egg whisks:

1. Push one egg whisk into each opening so that they lock into place. The egg

whisks have no ring markings, the arrangement plays no role for the egg whisks.

2. Make sure that both egg whisks have locked into place.

The egg whisks are suitable for stirring sponge mixture, beating egg whites, whipping cream, junket, mayonnaise, sauces and sweet dishes. Caution: You have to insert either two dough hooks or two egg whisks into the motor unit. Never use the appliance if only one stirring tool has been inserted. Never insert one dough hook and one egg whisk! The appliance might be damaged!

There are two openings for stirring tools in the bottom of the motor unit. The left opening is slightly larger than the right opening. Make sure that the appliance is not connected to the power before attaching the stirring tools. Note: The openings for the stirring tools are only open and accessible if the cover for the fixation of the blender shaft (I) is pushed down and closed. This prevents splashes from getting into the blender shaft fixation while the appliance is used as a handheld mixer. Inserting the dough hooks:

1. Push the dough hook marked with the ring into the larger opening on the left.

2. Push the dough hook without the ring into the smaller opening on the right.

3. Make sure that both dough hooks have locked into place.

Caution: For the handheld mixer to work properly and safely, it is very important that the dough hook with the ring is pushed into the larger opening!

The dough hooks are especially well suited to stirring yeast dough, fine pastry and potato dough for spaetzle and hash browns.105104 GB GB Tip: To prevent vigorous splashes and dusting, e.g. caused by flour, we recom- mend fully submerging the egg whisks resp. dough hooks in the ingredients before switching the mixer on. For the same reason, switch the appliance off before taking the attachments out of the stirred ingredients. Always start in the lowest speed and only increase the speed after the dry ingre- dients have been mixed in. When making heavy dough, we recommend using a higher speed. Removing the dough hooks / egg whisks:

1. Switch the appliance off after mixing or kneading with the ON/OFF switch and

pull the power plug.

2. Push the release button (A) to release the egg whisks resp. the dough hooks.

Caution: Never push the release button (A) while the appliance is in handheld mixer mode!

You have already locked the chosen attachment onto the shaft in the foot of the blender shaft.

Now, push the blender shaft into the motor unit. To do that, you have to slide the cover for the blender shaft fixation (I) up to make it accessible. By doing that, you have closed the openings for the stirring tools, prevent- ing splashes from getting into the two openings while the appliance is used as a blender.

Push the blender shaft into the fixation and turn it in a clockwise direction until it locks into place, firmly connecting the shaft and the motor unit.

Make sure that the power plug is not plugged into the socket.

Select the suitable attachment, depending on the required function: Multi blade, whisk, whipping disk or meat and vegetable blade.

Carefully push the attachment onto the drive shaft in the foot of the blender shaft so that the cams on both sides of the shaft slide into the notches on the attachment until you hear a faint “Click”.

Once the attachment has locked into place, it is firmly connected to the shaft and you can start blending. push “Click” Caution: The blades are extremely sharp! If possible, do not touch the blades to avoid cutting yourself! Only touch the blades on the shaft or the flat parts!111110 GB GB

You have to remove the attachment at the end of the mixing process. This is done exclusively with the included key (S) – never attempt to remove the attach- ments by hand, you might be seriously injured!

Make sure that the power plug is not plugged into the power socket.

Hold the handle of the key and push the fork of the key under the attachment and against its shaft. You can hear a faint “Click”.

Lever the blade attachment up with the help of the key – the attachment dis- engages from the foot of the blender shaft. Point the foot of the blender away from you to prevent the attachment from being launched into your direction or even your face.

Carefully hold the attachment in one hand and the key in the other hand. Turn the key to the position “K” and lift the attachment off.

You can place the cleaned attachment and the key in the accessory box.

Be careful when touching the blades with your hand – they are extremely sharp. “Click” push turn pull

Only now plug the power plug of the completely unwound power cord into a suitable power outlet. The LCD screen lights up, indicating that the speed setting is 1 by displaying a 1.

Vertically insert the blender into the blender jug. Only the blender shaft must be placed in the liquid or food you wish to blend, not the motor unit!

Use the + or − button to select a speed between 1 and 16. You can read the current setting from the screen. You can adjust the speed up or down with the + resp. − button, there are 16 speed settings to choose from. Each press of the button will increase resp. reduce the speed by one step. If you press and hold the button, the steps are quickly counted up or down. The current speed is displayed on the screen.

If the correct speed setting is displayed, push the ON/OFF button into the posi- tion I and hold it there. The blender is only switched on while you keep the ON/ OFF button held down. As soon as you let go of it, the blender stops.

Start blending and shredding by making small movements up and down and slightly turning the blender back and forth.

The operation time is counted up on the LCD screen in seconds and minutes.

If you want to change the speed while blending, release the ON/OFF button and reset the speed with the + and − buttons. After that, push the ON/OFF button back to the position I.

If you want to quit blending, let go of the ON/OFF button and wait for the attachment to come to a complete standstill. Only then pull the blender out of the mixture to prevent food splashing out of the blender jug.

Pull the power plug out of the power socket Note: After 9 minutes and 59 seconds, the display switches back to 00 seconds and the appliance switches off automatically. However, you should never use the blender for more than 1 minute; if you wish to chop very hard foods, do not use it for more than 10 seconds.113112 GB GB

Check if the appliance has been disconnected from the power and is clean and dry.

Store your Solis Hand & Stick Mixer in the storage box as shown on page 101. The stirring tools, the blender shaft and the cord can be placed in the transpar- ent lower part, the 4 attachments and the key can be placed in the part in the middle. Place the motor unit on the upper storage base. Place the cord in the transparent storage box and guide it through the channel on the side of the layer with the compartments for the attachments resp. the upper storage box towards the appliance. Like that, the appliance is stored with minimum space requirements and ready for use.

Store the appliance in a dry, dark place; ideally in its original packaging. Do not place anything on the appliance.

Always keep the appliance and the power cord out of the reach of children.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Clean the motor unit, the stirring tools and the blender shaft as well as the attachments after every use to prevent leftover food from caking on the drive shaft.

Make sure that the power plug is pulled before cleaning and that the attachment has been removed from the blender shaft. Be careful to avoid injuring yourself with the sharp blades.

Wipe the motor unit clean with a slightly moist, soft towel. Remove potential food leftovers on the power cord. Caution: Never hold the motor unit with the power cord and the power plug under running water or submerge it in water resp. clean it with liquids other than water.

Wash the stirring tools as well as the blender shaft and the blender jug in warm water with a mild dishwashing liquid and a soft sponge. Best use a washing-up brush to clean the sharp attachments to avoid injuring yourself with them. Dry all parts carefully. If you have blended very salty food, you should wash the attachments and the blender shaft right after using them, otherwise the salt might affect the blades. Caution: Remember that the blades are very sharp and do not injure yourself!

Tip: The stirring tools (egg whisks and dough hooks) can also be cleaned in the dishwasher.

If you have processed foods that can cause discolouration like e.g. carrots, the plastic parts might be discoloured. Wipe the discoloured areas with cooking oil before cleaning them.

When not using the Solis Hand & Stick Mixer for prolonged periods of time, we recommend greasing the drive shaft in the foot of the blender shaft with a few drops of cooking oil so that it can rotate smoothly. Caution: Do not use any aggressive or scouring detergents or steel sponges to clean the appliance as these might damage the surface.115114 GB GB
