2. Proper use

This appliance is exclusively designed for shaving human hair and is operated using battery power. It can be used as both a wet and dry shaver.

The appliance is intended for private use only and not for industrial/commercial use.

Please note that we shall not be liable in cases of improper use:

  • Do not modify the appliance without our consent and do not use any auxiliary equipment that we have not approved or supplied.
  • Use only spare parts and accessories that we have supplied or approved.
  • Heed all the information in these operating instructions, especially the safety information. Any other use is deemed improper and can cause personal injury or property damage.

  • Do not use the product in areas where there is a risk of explosion, e.g. tank systems, fuel storage depots, or areas in which solvents are being used. It is also not permitted to use this appliance in areas where the air is contaminated with fine particles (e.g. flour dust or sawdust).

  • Do not expose the appliance to any extreme conditions. The following should be avoided:

  • High levels of humidity or moisture

4. Safety information

4.1. People not permitted to use this appliance

Keep the appliance and its accessories out of the reach of children.

  • This appliance may be used by children over the age of 8 and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or by those without experience and/or knowledge, if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and have understood the dangers that result from it. Children must not be allowed to play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance may not be carried out by children, unless they are aged 8 or over and are supervised.
  • Children younger than 8 should be kept away from the appliance and the mains cable.

4.2. Safe connection

Connect the appliance to a freely accessible, properly installed 220 - 240V 50Hz power socket only.

The mains adapter must be freely accessible so that you can disconnect the appliance from the mains quickly and easily in the event of emergency.
Lay the mains adapter cable so that nobody is able to step on it or trip over it. Do not use an extension cable.
Do not kink or crush the mains adapter cable.
Always remove the mains adapter cable from the socket at the plug.

  • Do not touch the appliance with wet hands while the appliance is charging. Do not charge the appliance near to a shower, bath or a full sink. If the appliance or the mains adapter come into contact with water, do not reach into the water but instead disconnect the mains adapter plug immediately.

Always disconnect the mains plug once the appliance has been charged in a bathroom because there is a risk of electric shock due to moisture in the live parts.

Disconnect the mains adapter from the socket if you do not plan to use the appliance for an extended period or if a storm

is imminent.

Disconnect the mains adapter cable from the appliance before using it in battery operation. FR
If foreign bodies or liquids enter the appliance, disconnect the mains adapter from the socket immediately. Arrange for a qualified specialist to check the appliance before using it again. There is a risk of electric shock otherwise.
- Never use the appliance if it has been damaged or if the mains adapter shows signs of damage. Disconnect the mains adapter from the socket immediately if the appliance is damaged.

6. Charging the battery

The battery is built into the appliance. To charge the battery, connect the plug on the mains adapter to the power connection on the appliance and the mains plug into the wall socket.
Use only the mains adapter cable supplied with the appliance.

While the appliance is connected to the mains and the battery is being charged, the charging indicator shows the charging status in %.

Once the appliance is fully charged, the charging indicator shows 100% and the shaver stops drawing power. The appliance can remain safely connected to the mains. Disconnect from the mains, however, to prevent any unnecessary power consumption.

6.1. Charging the battery before first use

To obtain the optimal battery charge, the battery should be charged for two hours before first use.

6.2. Charging the battery

The battery recharge time is 90 minutes. Always charge the battery once the shaving performance starts to become noticeably weaker. The charging indicator will show a charging status of under 20% before the shaver switches off automatically.

7. Application

Remove the protective cap from the shaving head.
- Switch the shaver on by pressing the ON/OFF button. The charging indicator lights up in blue during operation.

Press the shaver gently onto the skin at an angle of 90 degrees and guide it over the face against the direction of hair growth.
Use your free hand to hold the skin taut so that the hairs stand upright.

PLEASE NOTE!

If you are using a rotary shaver for the first time, your skin must get used to this kind of shaving. This generally takes two to three weeks.

To use the trimmer on the rear of the appliance, flip it up. After use, fold it back down again.

You can use the trimmer, for example, to shave difficult-to-access areas on the upper lip, chin and neck,

to shorten sideburns, to remove longer hairs on your neck or to shape your beard.

Switch the shaver off again by pressing the ON/OFF button.

To protect the shaving heads, replace the protective cap after cleaning.

8. Cleaning and care

The shaver is waterproof and it is thus possible to easily clean the shaving heads under running water.

  • Switch off the appliance, pull the plug from the socket and the connector plug from the appliance (if applicable).

Press the release button and flip the shaving unit upwards.

Rinse the shaving heads and the trimmer under running water.

  • Allow the appliance to dry and, after cleaning with water, add a drop of oil to each shaving head and the trimmer.

8.1. Weekly cleaning

  • Switch off the appliance, pull the plug from the socket and the connector plug from the appliance (if applicable).

First, clean the shaving surface with the supplied cleaning brush.
Press the release button and flip the shaving unit upwards.

Clean the shaving unit and the inside of the hair collection chamber using the cleaning brush.

Now close the shaving unit again.

8.2. Bi-monthly cleaning

  • Switch off the appliance, pull the plug from the socket and the connector plug from the appliance (if applicable).

Press the release button and pull the shaving unit upwards.

Lightly turn the unlocking wheels in the middle of the shaving unit and remove the shaving unit by pulling it upwards.

Now remove the three shaving guards. Turn each shaving guard in a clockwise direction to remove them from the shaving unit.

Remove the blades from the shaving guards.

Clean the blades carefully using the supplied cleaning brush.

PLEASE NOTE!

Always clean the blade and shaving guard in pairs as these are specially designed to work together with each other in operation. If the blades are swapped, this can cause the shaving performance to deteriorate.

Clean the shaving guards also with the cleaning brush.
- Reinsert the shaving blades into the shaving guards with the blades facing downwards.
- Place each shaving guard onto the shaving unit. Ensure that the tab on the shaving guard fits into the recess on the shaving unit. Tighten the shaving guard by turning it in an anticlockwise direction.
Lightly press the shaving unit back onto the appliance and turn the locking wheels to fix the shaving unit in place.

8.3. Intensive cleaning

Every six months you should clean the shaving heads especially thoroughly.
To do this, immerse the shaving heads in a degreasing liquid for a few minutes

(e.g. alcohol) and allow them to dry completely before reassembly.

Reinsert the shaving heads into the shaving unit and close the shaving unit again.
- Add a drop of sewing machine oil on each shaving head and switch on the appliance for about 10 seconds. In this way, you will reduce the wear on the shaving heads.
Remove any excess oil from the surface with a soft cloth or a little kitchen paper.

9. Replacing the shaving heads

Replace the shaving heads every two years to ensure a consistent shaving result.

  • Switch off the appliance, pull the plug from the socket and the connector plug from the appliance (if applicable).
  • Remove the shaving heads as described in the section "Bi-monthly cleaning" and replace them with new shaving heads.

10. Troubleshooting

Problem Cause Solution
The shaving performance declines.The shaving heads are dirty. You have not cleaned the shaver thoroughly enough or it has been too long since the last cleaning.Clean the shaver thoroughly before you continue shaving (see “8.1. Weekly cleaning” on page 131).
Long hairs obstruct the shaving heads.Clean the shaving blades and shaving guards using the supplied cleaning brush (see “8.2. Bi-monthly cleaning” on page 131).

14. General Warranty Conditions

14.1. General information

The warranty period is 24 months and begins on the day the product is purchased. The warranty covers all types of material and product damage that could occur during normal use.

Please keep your original proof of purchase in a safe place. The warranty provider reserves the right to refuse to confirm the status of the warranty or to carry out a repair under warranty if a valid proof of purchase cannot be produced.

If it is necessary to return your device for repair, please ensure that it is suitably packaged for transportation. Unless otherwise specified, you shall bear the costs for sending the device and the transport risk. The warranty provider does not assume any liability for additional materials sent with the product that do not belong to the original package contents supplied with the product.

Please enclose as much information as possible about the fault when sending the device to the warranty provider. In order to make a valid claim under warranty and before returning the device, please contact the Service Hotline operated by the warranty provider or the Service Portal. They will provide you with information on how to proceed further.

This warranty has no effect on your statutory warranty rights and is subject to the laws of the country in which the first purchase of the product was made by the end customer.

14.1.1. Scope

In the event of a fault on your product that is covered by this warranty, the warranty provider guarantees to repair or replace the product. The decision about whether to repair or replace the device is taken by the warranty provider. Therefore, the warranty provider can at its own discretion decide to replace a device submitted for repair under warranty with a refurbished device of the same quality.

No warranty is provided for batteries or rechargeable batteries or for consumable materials i.e. parts which have to be replaced at regular intervals during the normal use of the product e.g. video projector lamps.

A pixel error (permanently coloured, light or dark point in an image) is not generally considered a fault. Please refer to the information provided in the manual for this product for the precise number of permissible defects in the image.

The warranty provider gives no warranty for burnt-in images on plasma or LCD devices that result from the improper use of the device. Please refer to the information provided in the manual for this product for precise instructions on operating your plasma or LCD device.

The warranty does not cover errors relating to the playback of data media that have been created in an incompatible format or as a result of using unsuitable software. If it is discovered during the repair that the fault concerned is not covered under warranty, the warranty provider reserves the right to invoice the customer for the costs already incurred in the form of a flat-rate handling charge, as well as to charge the customer for the materials and labour required for the repair after submitting a cost estimate. You will be informed in advance as the customer about these repair charges; you are responsible for accepting or rejecting the repair process.

14.1.2. Exclusions

Malfunctions and damage to the device caused by external influences, accidental damage, improper use, changes made to the product, modifications, upgrades, the use of third-party parts, neglect, viruses or software faults, improper transport, improper packaging or loss during the return of the product are not covered by the warranty issued by the warranty provider.

The warranty will be invalidated if the fault to the device is caused by maintenance or repair carried out by someone other than a service partner authorized by the warranty provider. The warranty will also be invalidated if labels or serial numbers on the device or a component of the device have been modified or made illegible.

14.1.3. Service Hotline

Before sending the device to the warranty provider, you must contact us via the Service Hotline or the Service Portal. This ensures that you receive further information on how to make a valid claim under warranty.

The use of the hotline may be subject to a charge.

The Service Hotline should under no circumstances be considered a substitute for user training for software and hardware or reading the manual, nor does it provide support for third-party products.

14.2. Special warranty conditions for repair on site or replacement on site

If there is an entitlement to on-site repair or replacement, the specific warranty terms and conditions for on-site repair or replacement shall apply to your product.

The following provisions must be ensured by you for carrying out repairs or replacements on site:

  • Personnel from the warranty provider who arrive at your premises for the above-mentioned purpose must have unrestricted, safe and immediate access to the devices.
  • Telecommunication facilities required by these personnel for the proper

execution of your order, for testing and diagnostic purposes or for remedying faults must be provided by you at your own expense.

  • You shall be personally responsible for restoring your own application software after completion of the service by the warranty provider.
  • You shall be personally responsible for configuring and connecting any existing external devices after completion of the service by the warranty provider.
  • The free cancellation period for repairs or replacements on site is at least 48 hours, thereafter we shall invoice you for any costs resulting from a late or missing cancellation.
