Frequently Asked Questions - Toronto 30960 PALSON

How to use the Toronto 30960 toaster for the first time?
Remove all packaging, clean the exterior with a damp cloth and dry well. Plug in the appliance, turn the browning selector to position 1 (lowest) and run it empty once or twice to burn off manufacturing residues. A slight smoke is normal.
How to adjust the browning level?
Turn the progressive browning time selector (2) to the desired position (from 1 to 6). Start with a medium position, then adjust to taste. The toasting time is automatic.
What to do if the bread burns or does not brown enough?
If the bread burns, reduce the selector setting for a shorter time. If it's too pale, increase the setting. The time varies depending on the thickness and type of bread.
How to clean the toaster?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool completely. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth (do not immerse). Remove the crumb tray (3) by the handle, empty it, wash if necessary, dry it and put it back.
Can I toast foods other than bread?
Yes, you can toast slices of bread, brioche, or half sandwiches. Never cover more than 80% of the toasting surface to ensure proper air circulation.
Why does the appliance turn off by itself?
The toaster is equipped with an automatic shut-off after the selected toasting time. When the toast is ready, an audible signal sounds and the appliance turns off.
What safety precautions should I take?
Do not touch hot surfaces, do not immerse the appliance in water, do not use it near flammable materials, and unplug it after use. Supervise children nearby.
What to do if the power cord is damaged?
Do not use the appliance. Have the cord replaced by the manufacturer, its service technician, or a qualified electrician to avoid any hazard.
The toaster produces smoke, is this normal?
During the first use, a small amount of smoke may escape due to manufacturing residues. This is normal. If it persists, check that the crumb tray is in place and clean.
Where can I get spare parts or repairs?
Visit www.palson.com or contact your distributor. After-sales service can provide spare parts and repair information.
