When passing on the appliance, enclose these instructions.
This appliance is designed for processing normal household quantities in the home or similar quantities in non-industrial applications.
Non-industrial applications include e.g. use in employee kitchens in shops, offices, agricultural and other commercial businesses, as well as use by guests in boarding houses, small hotels and similar dwellings.
Risk of electric shock!
Connect and operate the appliance only in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate. To prevent injury, repairs to the appliance, such as replacing a damaged power cord, should be carried out by our customer service only.
This appliance may be used by children aged 8 or over and by people who have reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or inadequate experience and/or knowledge, provided they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the appliance safely and have understood the resulting dangers. Children under 8 years of age must be kept away from the appliance and the power cord and must not operate the appliance. Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and descaling must not be performed by children unless they are 8 years of age or older and are supervised.
Never immerse the appliance, base or power cord in water.
Use the jug with the enclosed base only.
Do not use the appliance if the power cord and/or appliance are damaged.
If there is a fault, pull out the mains plug immediately or switch off the power supply.
Risk of fire!
Do not place base or jug on or near hot surfaces, e.g. hotplates.
Risk of scalding!
The appliance heats up during use. Therefore, take hold of the appliance by the handles only and open the lid only when cold. Use appliance only with lid attached.
If the appliance is filled above the max. mark, there is a risk of boiling water spurting out.

Do not use near water which is in the bath, washbasin or other vessels.
Risk of suffocation!
Do not let children play with packaging material.
These operating instructions refer to several models: 2400 W/240 V and 3100 W/240 V.
Before using your appliance for the first time
- To clean the kettle thoroughly, fill with clear water, bring to the boil and repeat. The first time you fill the kettle, add a tablespoon of household vinegar.
Important
Use the kettle only with the base which is marked with Type Type CTWK11, CTWK13 for 2400 W and Type CTWK12, CTWK14 for 3100 W.
High power appliances may have a louder boiling noise.
Fill the kettle with water only. Milk or instant products will burn and damage the appliance.
Boiling the water
Please fold out the illustrated page! Do not switch an appliance on when empty as it could be damaged. Observe the max mark!
Before boiling water, close the lid and insert the filter, otherwise the automatic steam stop will not function!
! Risk of scalding!
Do not open lid whilst it is hot.
Leave the appliance to cool down for 5 minutes before refilling with water.
Information:
The appliance switches off as soon as the boiling process ends.
Note:
For physical reasons condensation may form on the base. This is a normal process and the kettle is not leaking.
Cleaning and descending
Electric shock risk
Never immerse the kettle or the base in water or put in the dishwasher! Do not use a steam cleaner.
- Remove mains plug.
- Descale the kettle with vinegar or a commercially available descaling agent. Do not use sharp or abrasive detergents.
- Rinse out the kettle and scale filter with clear water.
Regular descaling
prolongs the service life of the appliance, - ensures that the kettle functions properly, - reduces the boiling time, - saves energy.
Descale the kettle with vinegar or a commercially available descaling agent.
- Fill the kettle up to the max mark with water and bring to the boil. Then add approx. 1 cup of household vinegar and leave to react for several hours.
- Or use descaling agent according to the manufacturer's instructions, never bring to the boil.
- Remove the scale filter and place in a little vinegar.
- Then rinse the kettle and scale filter with clear water.
Attention: Never remove calcification residue with hard implements, otherwise the seal will be damaged.
Eliminating minor faults yourself
The appliance is not heating up.
The indicator light does not come on → the overheating protection system has actuated.
- Switch in Off position, take the kettle off the base (after the kettle has cooled down for a fairly long time) and put back on again. The appliance can be switched on again.
The appliance switches off before the boiling process ends → the appliance is calcified.
- Descale the appliance according to the instructions.

Please read the operating instructions carefully, follow the instructions given in them and keep them for future use. When transferring the appliance to other persons, it is necessary to transfer the operating instructions to them as well. This is not a professional appliance; it is not intended for industrial use, and it can be used only in the household.
Danger of electric shock!
The appliance can be connected and used only in accordance with the technical data on the rating plate. To avoid dangerous situations, repair of the appliance, e.g., replacement of a damaged power cord, must be carried out only by our service department. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above, and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. The appliance and its power cord should be kept away from children younger than 8 years; they must not use the appliance. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and descaling may be performed only by children aged from 8 years and above, and if they are under supervision. The appliance, its stand or power cord must never be immersed in water.
The appliance may be used only with the stand included in the delivery. Use it only if the appliance and its power cord have no damage. In case of malfunction, immediately pull the plug out of the socket or disconnect the mains voltage.
Fire hazard!
Do not place the appliance near hot surfaces, e.g., kitchen stoves.
Burn hazard!
The appliance heats up strongly during use.
Therefore, only hold it by the handles and open the lid only when the appliance is cold.
Do not use near water, bathtubs, sinks, or other containers.
Choking hazard!
Do not allow children to play with the packaging material.
This instruction manual describes different models: 2400 W / 240 V and 3100 W / 240 V.
Never immerse the appliance or its power supply in water, and do not place it in a dishwasher!
Do not use a plunger.
- Unplug the appliance from the outlet.
- The appliance and its power supply should only be wiped externally with a damp cloth. Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents.
- The appliance and filter should be rinsed with clean water.
Regular descaling
- Extends the service life of the device,
- guarantees trouble-free operation,
- reduces the boiling time of water,
- allows saving electrical energy.
Clean the kettle from scale with vinegar or a standard descaling agent.
Fill the kettle with water up to the “max” mark and bring to a boil. Then add approximately one cup of household vinegar and let it act for several hours. Or use a descaling agent according to the manufacturer's instructions. In no case do not boil. - Remove the filter from scale and place it in a vinegar solution. Then rinse the kettle and the filter from scale with clean water.
Attention: In no case do not remove scale residues with hard objects, otherwise the seal will be damaged.
Self-elimination of minor faults
The device does not turn on.
The control lamp does not light up → The overheating protection system has activated.
Set the switch to the “Off” position, remove the kettle from the supply (after a sufficient cooling time) and install it again. The device can be turned on again. The device turns off at the end of the water boiling process: → the device is covered with scale. Clean the device from scale according to the instructions.
