- Do not look directly into the light for the entire period of use. This could overstimulate the retina.
- Start with a shorter exposure time, and gradually increase over a week.
Note: The first applications could cause eyestrain and headaches, however these will lessen over subsequent sessions as the nervous system adapts to the new stimuli. In this case abort the use and reduce the usage time thereafter. Do not touch the appliance in the duration. Let the appliance cool down for at least 10 minutes before reposition it.
Usage times:
- The recommended distance is between 20 and 50cm from the lamp.

| When inserting the tube, following these instructions in reverse order. |
Cleaning Up a Broken Tube

The light tubes contain a small amount of mercury sealed within the glass tubing, when a tube breaks in your home, some of this mercury is released as mercury vapor. To minimize exposure to mercury vapor, we recommend that users follow the cleanup and disposal steps as follows:
Before Cleanup:
Have people and pets leave the room and air out the room for 5-10 minutes by opening a window or door to the outdoor environment. Shut off the central forced air heating/ air-conditioning system, if you have one. Collect material needed to clean up broken tube, just like: stiff paper or cardboard, sticky tape, damp paper towels or disposable wet wipes.
During Cleanup:
Vacuuming is not recommended unless broken glass remains after all other cleanup steps have been taken. Vacuuming could spread mercury-containing powder or mercury vapor. Be thorough in collecting broken glass and visible powder. Place cleanup materials in a sealable container.
After Cleanup:
Promptly place all bulb debris and cleanup materials outdoors in a trash container or protected area until materials can be disposed of properly. Avoid leaving any bulb fragments or cleanup materials indoors. If practical, continue to air out the room where the bulb was broken and leave the heating/air conditioning system shut off for several hours.
Storage
When the appliance is not being used, it should be stored in a dry location out of reach of children. Do not keep the it connected to a power source. The unit is designed to be stored in the following environmental conditions:
