Open the packaging and take out the equip- ment with care.

Original operating instructions

The drywall power sander is intended for sanding off plaster-fi nished drywalls, ceilings and interior masonry, and for removing wall-paper residues, paint, coverings, adhesive residues and loose plaster. It can also be used for sanding off fl oors. The equipment is to be used only for its prescri- bed purpose. Any other use is deemed to be a case of misuse. The user / operator and not the manufacturer will be liable for any damage or inju- ries of any kind caused as a result of this. Please note that our equipment has not been de- signed for use in commercial, trade or industrial applications. The specifi ed vibration value was established in accordance with a standardized testing method. 5. Before starting the equipment

Before you connect the equipment to the mains supply make sure that the data on the rating plate are identical to the mains data. Warning! Always pull the power plug before making adjustments to the equipment.

5.1 Assembling the drywall sander (Fig. 2)

Take the drywall sander out of the packaging, unfold it and secure with the locking hook (10). Make sure that the locking hook (10) engages correctly.

5.2 Fitting the telescopic extension (Fig. 3)

Insert the telescopic extension (4) into the lock for the telescopic extension (3) and lock it by twisting as shown in Fig. 3. Note: Adjust the drywall power sander with the telesco- pic extension (4) so that you can work with it most comfortably. Observe the „Max“ mark on the tele- scopic extension. Do not go beyond this mark.

5.3 Connection for dust extractor (Fig. 4)

Insert the dust extractor hose (6) into the dust ex- tractor mount (5) and lock it by twisting as shown in Fig. 4. Dust is extracted directly through the abrasive paper and the sanding disk (7). Anl_TC_DW_225_SPK7.indb 15Anl_TC_DW_225_SPK7.indb 15 02.12.14 13:5302.12.14 13:53GB

Note: Connect your tool to an extraction unit or vacuum cleaner. This will provide excellent extraction of chips and dust. Caution! For health safety reasons it is imperative that you use a dust extractor.

5.4 Fastening the grinding/sanding paper

(Fig. 5) The Velcro fastener enables easy changing of the abrasive paper. Make sure that the vacuum extraction holes on the abrasive paper and the sanding disk are aligned.

Switching on: Press the On/Off switch (1). Continuous operation: Lock the On/Off switch (1) in place by pressing the locking button (11). Switching off : Press the On/Off switch (1) briefl y and let go.

6.2 Speed controller (Fig. 7/Item 2)

You can select the speed by turning the speed controller (2). Plus direction: Higher speed Minus direction: Lower speed

6.3 Working with the drywall power sander

Place the whole surface area of the sanding disk on the material.

Switch on the machine and move it with gentle pressure over the „workpiece“, making circular or transverse and linear movements.

Use a coarse grit for coarse sanding and a finer grit for finish sanding. You can find the best grit size for the job by carrying out san- ding tests. Caution! The dusts which are formed while the equipment is being used may be a health hazard:

Always wear safety goggles and a dust mask during sanding work.

All persons who work with the equipment or enter the workplace must wear a protective dust mask.

Eating, drinking and smoking are prohibited at the workplace.

Paints containing lead are not allowed to be used!

6.4 Swiveling sanding disk (Fig. 1)

The sanding disk can be swiveled in two axes, enabling comfortable sanding even overhead and in tight spaces.

7. Replacing the power cable

Danger! If the power cable for this equipment is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its after-sales service or similarly trained personnel to avoid danger.

8. Cleaning, maintenance and

ordering of spare parts Danger! Always pull out the mains power plug before star- ting any cleaning work.

Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it with compressed air at low pressure.

We recommend that you clean the device immediately each time you have finished using it.

Clean the equipment regularly with a moist cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents; these could at- tack the plastic parts of the equipment. Ensu- re that no water can seep into the device. The ingress of water into an electric tool increases the risk of an electric shock.

9. Disposal and recycling

The equipment is supplied in packaging to pre- vent it from being damaged in transit. The raw materials in this packaging can be reused or recycled. The equipment and its accessories are made of various types of material, such as metal and plastic. Never place defective equipment in your household refuse. The equipment should be taken to a suitable collection center for proper disposal. If you do not know the whereabouts of such a collection point, you should ask in your local council offi ces.
