5. Power cord and plug

Before First Use Remove all packaging material and check whether the ap- pliance is complete. Fullyunwindthepowercord(5)andconnecttheappliance to a properly installed wall socket. The hotplates have a protective coating. To remove the protective layers on the heating elements, heat up the hotplates for about 5 minutes on the highest setting without any pot on it. This process seals the hotplates and assures a better protection against corrosion in the future. This could cause a slight build-up of smoke and odour. This doesn’t cause any harm nor does it mean that your appliance does not work properly. Make sure that the room is well ventilated! After this process your hotplates are ready for operation.
