5. Power cord and plug

Before First Use Remove all packaging material and check whether the ap- pliance is complete. Fullyunwindthepowercord(5)andconnecttheappliance to a properly installed wall socket. The hotplates have a protective coating. To remove the protective layers on the heating elements, heat up the hotplates for about 5 minutes on the highest setting without any pot on it. This process seals the hotplates and assures a better protection against corrosion in the future. This could cause a slight build-up of smoke and odour. This doesn’t cause any harm nor does it mean that your appliance does not work properly. Make sure that the room is well ventilated! After this process your hotplates are ready for operation.

Warning: Plastic bags are a danger to toddlers and

3. Connect the appliance to a properly installed wall socket

5. After the appliance is switched off there is still some

remaining heat, this heat could be used for keeping the foods warm. Hot surface, danger of serious burns! In order to properly switch off the appliance, the power cord must be disconnected from the mains after each use. It is not enough to turn the temperature control knob (4) to the MIN-position.
