Safety instructions
Please read the operating instructions carefully, follow the instructions given in them, and keep them for future use. When handing over the device to other persons, it is necessary to also hand over the operating instructions. This device is not intended for industrial use; it can only be used in the household.
Danger of electric shock!
Never cover the base for installing the device.
Danger of suffocation!
Do not allow children to play with the packaging material.
This operating instruction describes different models:
Models (Fig. 6a) only with on/off switch.
Model (Fig. 6b) with rotary switch for selecting the number of cups.
All models are equipped with the automatic switch-off function "auto off" (energy saving), thanks to which the appliance switches off after approximately 40 minutes.
Before first use
To clean the appliance, run 9 cups of water through it twice. A slight smell of a new appliance may appear.
In this case, it is recommended to run a weak vinegar solution through it (2 cups of vinegar to 6 cups of water), then twice with 9 cups of water.
Brewing and maintaining the coffee temperature
Figures 1-5
Only clean water can be poured into the reservoir, never milk or such ready-made drinks as tea or coffee (possible change in taste after subsequent brewing).
Place the filter packet 1x4 into the filter holder.
Use medium-ground coffee (we recommend about 7 g per cup); with fewer cups, you should take a little more coffee per cup than with more cups.
You should brew at least three large cups, otherwise the coffee will not have the required temperature and strength.
Bottom plate
The warming plate remains hot for some time after switching off.
The jug must remain in place for 5 minutes before you can pour water again.
In the same way you can prepare tea.
Recommended number of cups
By changing the number of cups (3-6 cups) or 10 (7-10 cups), you can adjust the strength of the coffee and thus its aroma.
Do not use cleaning agents.
All parts that come into contact with coffee must be cleaned after each use.
Residues of old coffee have a negative effect on the taste of fresh coffee.
All removable parts can be washed in the dishwasher; do not place parts on the heating element and do not immerse them (possible deformation).
The housing should only be wiped from the outside with a damp cloth.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents.
Removing scale
The appliance should be descaled regularly, at the latest when:
- The brewing time for coffee increases,
- Excessive amount of steam is produced,
- The appliance starts to work louder.
Measure the descaling agent according to the manufacturer's instructions and pour it into the reservoir.
After the device has been operating, let it rest
for 5 minutes, then turn on the device, and after
1 minute turn it off and let it rest
for 10 minutes. Repeat the process at least three times (depending on the amount of scale).
Rinse the remaining agent through the device.
Rinse twice with 9 cups of clean water each.
For models with a function to select the number of cups during descaling, set the switch to 3-6 cups.
Thoroughly rinse all removable parts.
Recommendations for descaling
With normal water hardness and daily use, scale should be removed every 6 weeks.
If descaling agents based on acetic or citric acid are used, scale should be removed every 3 weeks.
