How to prepare a cappuccino with the EQ.5 macchiatoPlus?
Place the milk flexible tube in a milk container and attach it to the milk frother. Select 'Cappuccino' with the rotary selector. Adjust the coffee aroma if desired. Press the start button. The machine first prepares the milk foam, then the coffee.
What to do if the coffee is too bitter?
Set a coarser grind using the selector (3) while the grinder is running. Use a lighter roast coffee or change coffee quality.
How to clean the brewing unit?
Turn off the machine with the O/I switch. Open the cover, push the red lock to the left, then the ejection lever down. Remove the brewing unit, remove the protective cover and clean it under running water without detergent. Let it dry before reassembling.
Why does the milk frother not suck in milk?
This may be due to a clogged milk frother: clean it thoroughly. Make sure to use milk with 1.5% fat content. Check that the frother is properly mounted and the milk flexible tube is well attached.
How to descale the machine?
When the message 'DESCALING REQUIRED!' appears, remove the water filter if present. Press and hold the off/i button then start. Follow instructions: pour 0.5 L of warm water and a Siemens descaling tablet into the tank, place a container under the spout, and start the program.
Can I use ground coffee instead of beans?
Yes, open the coffee drawer (4), add at most 2 level measuring spoons of ground coffee (not instant). Select the beverage, set the aroma to 'GROUND COFFEE' and press start. Only one cup possible without AromaDouble Shot function.

Use the provided test strip to measure hardness. Then hold the off/i button for 3 seconds, navigate to 'WATER HARDNESS' and set the corresponding value (1 to 4). Factory setting is 4.

The brewing unit is not correctly placed or recognized. After reinserting the unit, turn off the machine, wait 3 seconds, then turn it on again.
